    The rear cargo space that you marked as a highlight was exactly why I immediately decided I wasn’t buying one cause as much as I wanted to love it I need the flat loading space of a full size SUV the fact that the 3rd row juts up and messes up the whole rear cargo shoes they think the only thing people use large SUVs for is to haul a bunch of kids.

    The trunk space is a joke. Toyota managed to make an SUV that looks way bigger from outside than from inside. If they have just upgraded the old Sequoia with modern safety and center console it would have been a home run

  • @davidkaminski615
    @davidkaminski615 Год назад +15

    I have to say that my 20 year old first gen Sequoia does better 3rd row origami tricks (and 100% removable), provides more cargo room (6' Kansas-flat and bumper height), has the same 4x4 system (minus the terrain select), gets the same gas mileage (with a 4.7L V8), and was not $80k to buy, refresh, maintain, and mod for the 5 years I've owned it (it's been about a tenth of that!), the double-DIN radio slot makes it easy to upgrade infotainment, and it has the cool roll-down rear window. After that list, I might argue that my old truck competes better than the new one!

  • @youtubecarspottersguide1

    The big gripe I have with the new Sequoia is the rear solid rear axle. Which of course feels more like a truck. It does 3 additional things I don't like. The ride quality suffers, traction suffers and the space in the rear seating/Cargo suffers all due to having the battery back in the rear. Moden SUV's have that nice independent double-wishbone setup with better traction, comfort when driving and of course more space in the rear. I own a truck; I don't want to feel like my SUV at 80k drives like a truck too :) Dang shame.

    I’m not a big SUV person, but boy it seems like Toyota knocked it out of the park on this long overdue Sequoia. Impressive interior, especially the detail to the 2nd and 3rd row seats. Progressive drivetrain, I don’t require a thirsty V8. But in my eyes, it’s a bit of a fail on the lack of rear independent suspension. But a beautifully styled SUV!

      I had a deposit for this for almost 2 years. Finally I was up and went to see it, but opted out due to less cargo space and the rear window no longer went down. With 3 Newfies I need the room. I’ll keep by 2018 forever as it only has 16,000 miles. And…. It’s paid for. The price tag the dealers are asking for the new one is just ridiculous. $20 grand over MSRP

    There’s nothing good about the sequoia
    The sequoia has to be the most CATASTROPHIC suv redesign to date. Period. Overpriced cheaply built, lackluster mpg, cramped interior mean it’s DOA even before it hits dealerships
    I bet by next year or two this will be killed off

    • @arhamkhakwani5851
      @arhamkhakwani5851 Год назад +3

      I won't argue about the rest since, frankly it's tiring at times that we argue again and again. However, when it comes to being killed off, it depends on 3 things. 1. How well it sells in the next 2-3 year 2. More marketing for the vehicle. 3. And this one is the MOST important, how much success will the Grand Highlander have. If the Grand Highlander outseels the Sequoia like 10-1 or more, then obviously the Sequoia will be killed.
