    Ryan, I see this video is over 4 months old, so not sure if you’ll see this comment, but just in case you do, I have a comment about something you mention in this video. You spoke about how hard adjusting the climate controls is. Well, I just finished watching another channel where the guy gave 18 voice commands to control your Tesla. One of them was using voice control to not only open the climate control screen, but also to control turning on the AC/Heat, aiming the vents, fan speed, turning on/off AC for the passenger… that channel showed how so much that owners do by going to the screen can actually be accomplished through voice control.

    • @aaronosheaarchery
      @aaronosheaarchery Год назад +5

      I second this. I always use voice command for climate control and it works really well.

    No need to hit SAVE multiple times when setting up your profile. Just set your seat, other preferences, and then mirrors and steering wheel. Then hit SAVE just once after all of it is set up. It'll save all the settings at once.

    Another great feature of the power lift gate is you can manually push the hatch fully so you don't hit your head in instances when clearance permits. The next time you open the hatch, it will remember your pre-set height so it doesn't hit anything when you're back home.

    I think a lot of people don’t know about the customizable control of long pressing the left scroll wheel on the steering wheel. There are many things people are like “ugh I wish there was a button for…” but there is, you just have to pick what that button controls (cameras, wipers, climate, fan speed, driver mode settings, etc.) it’s really well thought out. I only like teslas more after diving into all its details.

    The reason you also have to add the phone in the bluetooth settings, is the phone that's connected is the Tesla app. Bluetooth is for connecting to the phone itself for bluetooth audio and other features. They are separate things.

    I have a serious problem with my tesla. Originally the car couldn't see anything on the road except lines.

    Thanks Ryan, another great video. On the speed limit offset: a percentage is not "necessary." People will go around you, just stay in the slow lane. I like not having to think at all about radar and speed traps, not to mention the efficiency of driving at the speed limit rather than over.

    • @MrBrander
      @MrBrander 2 года назад +5

      Those are good points. Other side of the coin is that when you're following the flow of traffic it is nicer for everyone and causes less frustration for others when you are not consciously trying to make the smooth flow of traffic less smooth. Also even as simple as meter error might require you to adjust that so your actual real world speed matches the speedlimit instead of just your speedometer matching the speedlimit.
      Here in Finland, I personally prefer driving with the flow of traffic instead of consciously trying to slow everyone down and cause a traffic jam that way.

    Easy entry is an excellent option but unfortunately, a passenger behind the driver will find it to be a tight fit when the feature is active. I have that passenger wait until the driver’s seat moves to my saved position, before they get in. Same procedure on exiting. Get out before easy entry activates. But does everyone already know this? 😀
    Another option for estimating range is to pull up the energy screen and look at the right side of the display. There you will find the number of estimated remaining miles (I believe) based on your current driving conditions. Don’t know how accurate it is since I have yet to do a trial run, but I have noticed it seldom agrees with the % charge/miles remaining readout. YMMV

    This was a very useful video. I have just one real complaint with the UI. We have roads where you are required to drive with your headlights on. One location is Hwy 152 between 101 and 5. Just as you get to the winding hilly section you have to turn on your lights for the Safety Corridor Turn On Lights. There is no way to quickly turn on your headlights while driving on a somewhat twisty road with a fair amount of traffic. I would really like a simply screen switch that will go from the existing setting, in my case from Auto, to On. Then when I hit the switch again it goes back to the original setting. Having to go into the Controls window and then again to go back to Auto is a real pain while you are driving.
    Again this is a very good video.

    Instead of using cabin overheat protection, just turn on the climate control 10 minutes before leaving work. My interior temp reaches 156 deg at work (also in SoCal).

      I've heard that the point of cabin overheat protection isn't for personal comfort, but to protect the electronics / battery from overheating.

    One problem with device priority is that if my wife walks up to the car before me it puts the driver settings to her. After jamming my knees a couple of time I removed her!! lol I am the primary driver anyways.

    Great tutorial. Just for my own peace of mind, I like to program Home and Work locations as nearby locations, rather than exact locations. What is the distance limit on location dependant options, like sentry record at home? I'm assuming if they are required to be exact locations that options like pin to drive and valet mode hide personal data and locations?

    Can you configure how sensitive the supercharger stops are ? I'd prefer to run car quite low before first stop for maximize charging speed

    Stopping mode or the generation effect. should be adjustable. therefore you may want to use the downhill to transfer power back to the battery without the car stalling on the downhill. thus utilize the roll force and gravity. in mountainous areas the downhill can actually be quite long

    I wish the glovebox was in the short cut menu! If a burgler is allready in the car, they will easily get in the glovebox anyway! And I wish you could choose signature and rear lights on by default when starting driving. Some countries it is required by law, that all lights are on on a driving car!

    • @Dai10zin

      My understanding is the voice command "Open glove box" is effectively the shortcut.

    Hello Ryan
    99%. Of your videos I have watched and enjoyed
    I watched one where you showed a charging splitter you said you used at your home. To charge and also run another 220 volt appliance
    What is that unit and where can I buy it
    Many thanks for such great advice and information.

    Got a question: I am getting a fob to get into my work site easier (cells not allowed and I typically leave my wallet in the car too). Can I set auto-lock profiles for both the cell and the fob? Will auto-lock work if I have the fob, but phone is still in the car? Does the fob have a lock/unlock button on it? Thanks

    I wish profiles were real profiles, where any setting is custom to each profile. Can't have separate radio channels per profile. GPS shows me where my wife drove. People call Tesla a software company but then some basic things they do and you makes you go do they really have sw engineers working on these? I really wish Apple make their rumored car.
