I stopped by there last week when I seen the lifted Model Y with the brush guard. I talked to Eric and let him drive my Lightning and will be headed back there to get some work done to it. Great group of people at the store. I showed my wife the screen and now she wants one. Thanks for making videos in Georgia.
I love how there's an option for basically everyone for the instrument cluster. I started with the MSX like you and I have the infotainment madness on order!!
It's not bad. While I want Tesla to have many of these features this is a decent work around. It needs it's own LTE connection. THis way you do it all from the unit. But this is still a cool unit.

@@MasterZhao No it does not. There's a law that protects aftermarket mods from voiding warranty. It would only void warranty if Tesla could prove that the issue you are trying to fix was directly related to your dash upgrade. Which is fully reversible and not permanent tbh.

They have a newer version of that screen you guys are installing that has Way thinner bezels and has more features . ❤love your tesla videos by the way!!! Currently building my tesla right now!! Customized crazzzyyyyyy
There’s user report on Tesla forums saying these kind of mod cause their car to shut down after Tesla OTA. And also good luck explaining it to Tesla for your warranty work. I’ll just get a Mage Safe phone mount for the dash and call it a day.
Looks great but in EU, when I asked Tesla about even wrapping the car (with a colour vinyl wrap), they told me if the cameras and sensors are disconnected outside of their official service, the onboard computer will record that 'event' and it may void parts of your warranty if anything happens - like errors related to autopilot, etc. So what you're doing, at least in EU, will certainly void the warranty. Perhaps it's different in the U.S. but I would triple check.

Nice vid, the lack if an instrument cluster was the reason why I didn't get a model 3. Couldn't wrap my head around a 50k vehicle and no instrument where I'd expect to see them
I totally agree! The lack of an instrument panel if front of the driver makes no sense and is actually a safety hazard. With this hack, Model 3 or Y are back on the table!
Got myself the little mini one... perfect, the one with carplay is just not practical touching it with the wheel in the way... just a question of time that we will be able to get more apps like Waze or others
I prefer teslas infotainment setup over CarPlay! However I can’t say the same for Rivian. Rivian’s OS is in bad shape right now and could seriously use CarPlay. I would definitely get this kind of mod for Rivian.
Looking at the display that they showed, it had the car's speed listed as mp/h instead of mph. I'm guessing that whomever designed it must have based it on how the abbreviation for kilometres per hour is km/h and somehow thought that the miles per hour was mp/h instead of mph.
Tesla are great cars and got me addicted to EVs. I have owned 2 LR and 1 Performance Model 3 all 22 cars. Now I'm waiting for my more fun, better build quality and definitely better service Porsche Taycan, with all the screens I need lol
Another nice product install by Kim 🎉. BTW PPL,Tesla DOES add a 2nd aux display, but only on S and X. Shameful fact for Elon is: that while Tesla has the #1 highest profit margins per car of all carmakers bar none, (over $15,000 per model 3 or Y vs next highest in industry which is Toyota’s margin of 2,500) Elon is too cheap to put a 2nd aux display even on that wide margin, UNLESS you pay him over a hundred thousand dollars on an X or S which have even HIGHER profit margins because they don’t cost Tesla much more to make than a Y. (There have been detailed teardown studies on this) So If you “only” spend 50-60k on a 3 or Y then Elon snubs his nose at you, even though those 3 & Y models still profit more than 6 times more than any other car maker. #greed. But thank goodness there are people like KIm to show us a better way :P
I'll take function over form any day. Not having AA in the car was a very very serious ding. The only reason I purchased the M3 was because it's my wife's car and she can live without it.
Oh-ho! We knew it was inevitable that someone would leapfrog Tesla's limitations. It seems like it would be a bit difficult to access that binnacle behind the wheel, but I bet you'll really love the added functions and features. I only wish third-party programmers could also put the kibosh on the *&^%$#@! phantom braking, ping-ponging between lanes, paranoid mergers. You're more patient and handy than I am, Kim! Can't believe you didn't break a nail! 👏
Ping-ponging between lanes and paranoid mergers? I haven’t had these issues with FSD Beta so far. Looking forward to version 11, regardless. What do you mean by ping longing between lanes?

Can’t tell a difference in the winter, but it may have some impact on direct flow in the warmer months. I know that Brian at Tsportline mentioned they offer a smaller footprint version with no impact to airflow which we briefly showed in the start of the video.
Thanks for the video. I've been wanting one of these for my Model Y and this looks good. I'm confused though - how does the voice command button change? I see that you have to press a button to talk to siri - when you press the tesla voice button, does it still open up navigation and other commands? Do you have to do a lot of stuff on your phone first? That would seem to be a pain. I use Sirius and bluetooth a lot. I wonder if I could use a voice command on the new device to change stations? Thanks for any info. Really enjoy your videos
Haven’t tried to tune different stations with voice commands but I know you can also use the scroll wheels to access features on the screen if you prefer. I typically keep everything on car play and just facilitate through my phone rather than the touch screen.
It looks neat but it seems like the price is all in USD & I live in Canada. I'm assuming its going to cost an arm & a leg to import over to Canada due to conversion rate and duty fee to bring over??....😅

So 1 question is , does this void the warranty?
Did you change your dashboard from white to the wood finish? If so, where did you buy the wood dash from?
@@Rose-re9tn no, was originally wood. The white was part of another mod linked in the description.

@Kim Java, You should try magic eraser on that shiny model 3 steering wheel. Lightly. It’ll look factory matte new again. 😉
That screen and the previous one need to have a lovechild together. Good looks of the previous one plus brains of the new one.
The biggest issue with these for me is they block the center air vents

No, it matches to your car color automatically. Only the silver color is not a match as that color was long discontinued.
