Note for new owners: if your car has an LFP battery, Tesla recommends setting the charge limit to 100% and charging it to 100% at least once per week. You can see what battery type your car has by going to Controls -> Software -> Additional Vehicle Information
Thank you! You are absolutely correct. In an interview made to experts they made the research for over 8 years and found that even supercharging LFP batteries has minimal impact. They also recommend to charge to 100% with a low battery. Some say 20% but others say, between 40 to 60%. I rather follow Tesla recommendation, which according to my Tesla is to charge with 20%.
Hey Jeremiah- just got a new Model Y yesterday and really appreciate this video. Have seen quite a few, but really like your clear, succinct, comprehensive and efficient way of covering so much vital info. So many channels, but boy do some of these guys talk alot. I would say you have the best key info/words and time ratio I've found so far! Thank you SO much.
hey hey my friend - any idea or thoughts as to when they're going to add the sensors back via the camera system? New Tesla owner and I haven't owned a car without 360 degree cameras or parking sensors in ages.
Hi @jeremiahjones I take delivery of my M3 LR on Tuesday and have watched loads of videos over the last month. This is the best, most clear and precise video I’ve watched. Very straight forward to follow offering great insight without being full of opinion. I’ve recommend this to a couple of friends. Excellent work. Thank you.
Thank you for this video, sir. I’m about to pick up my model three long range in a few days and haven’t really had time to research the car details , Thanks again.
Great video! Love the detail and explanations. Also, not sure if you or anyone else has experienced this, but I don’t have the option to turn on/off “Blind Spot Collision Warning Chime” 14:41. It’s just not there. Not sure if its just my car but I assumed that it might be the case for all non USS cars (just took delivery of a 2023 model 3 a week ago).
I'm so happy I found your channel! Two days ago, I ordered a 2023 Tesla Model 3 Performance, and I'm having a charging station installed in my garage before the car gets here. It's supposed to be here by the end of June, possibly early July. I went with Pearl White with the Black and wood trim interior. It has the carbon fiber rear spoiler. The red brake calipers and those 20" wheels look incredible! I'm also tinting the windows, getting mud flaps, and going to a wider 255/35ZR20 tire all around... On a 9" wide wheel, it shouldn't have 235 mm tires! They look stretched. Anyway, I will be making videos of my Model 3 Performance as soon as I get it home. I'm still keeping my modded '15 Infiniti Q50 3.7 Premium RWD as my second car... I still love my Infiniti! Anyway, thanks again, -Chris
I was working on the car, washing, topping up the tires and doing other stuff around the garage. I could not get the radio to crank with the windows open while I work. Oh just thought of this, should I leave my phone in the car?
Is there a way to "copy" a profile? I wanted to make settings on one driver and copy that to another driver. Also, is this backed up somewhere on the cloud or can it be backed up on my NAS?
Generally OK but I disagree with you about the charging scheduling. Here in the UK my off peak power costs only a tiny fraction of peak rate so: charging at the wrong time is very expensive . I have the Tesla Gen 3 wall connector and no third party app. I set the charging times from the Tesla app which is effectively the same as the in- car function and it works faultlessly. ( it is a little fiddly setting up on and off peak times at the start but you only do this once)
My on peak is triple my off peak cost. The in car setting, to have the car charge during your off peak, has never worked for me and many other people I know.
I could be wrong since I don't have a way to test this, but I believe the mirror fold mode in your garage door opener settings is not the same as mirror fold on lock. I believe it folds the mirrors in when the garage door opens to allow for better side clearance for those with narrow garage doors.
@@JremiahJoneswhere is that? I can’t seem to find it on my 3 RWD. I wonder if its because its just the standard model. I do have MyQ and didn’t know I could do it that way so that’s awesome too! YOU ROCK!
Great video! So when setting the charge limit in the car it actually does show you the % that you are setting it at, it’s just hard to get it precise 😂
Wanna quickly clarify my statement about the schedule departure/charging. The schedule departure with preconditioning (which can also be achieved by just turning on HVAC) is very nice if you leave your house at a consistent time each day. My main problem with it is the scheduled charging/telling the car to not charge between your on peak hours. It just doesn't work. Like you can not have the start charging time enabled along with the off peak end time. It makes zero sense but thankfully we have 3rd party websites that do that for us.
I never have a problem with the schedule charging. I set it up with my iPhone Tesla app. I have it start charging at 12:00 am to 80%. I have it ready to leave at 8:30 am. When I get into the car at 8:30 my battery is at 80% and the car interior temp is 70. So glad it works, so convenient.

What would be the recommended charging limit that would be good for the battery life? Tesla says 90% but I have see other sites say 80% or other numbers.
Your security menu is different than mine (2021 M3P, Europe). I have a tilt/intrusion enable that turns itself on every time I enter the car. This setting disables cabin overheat protection. Living in a hot area, in order to keep cabin overheat protection working, I have to disable tilt/intrusion manually literally every time I exit the vehicle. I was hoping you found a way around that, but apparently your car doesn't even have tilt/intrusion. Every update I hope to see an ability to set these and leave them the way I want them, but so far no luck.

Bit of advice to new and prospective Tesla owners, if handbrake locks and car clunks free don't ignore it, this can damage pads and discs and Tesla do not accept any liability (has I was told when I signs my purchase agreement) and will hit you with a ridiculous bill. Awaiting my Model 3 Refresh and you did a great job with this video! Clear, concise and easy to follow along to. Thanks for the info.

How can a new (and high-tech at that) car not come with parking sensors/ basic park assist?
Tesla is not playing with full deck here.
