    "It will be easy to put back" famous last words for many of us. 🙃I am glad that it worked out well for you.

    I'm most impressed that you got that MDF molding off without breaking them.

    Great work Mr Nails - I ran into the issue with my last gap being less then a inch and had to knock a 1/2 inch off of 5 boards just so I didnt end with a small board.

    amazing job dude, only thing I noticed you done when cutting the door jambs down, you didn't add the thickness of the underlayment into the equation when cutting the bottom of the door frame down.

    Nice floors. Good tutorial. The biggest problem I see with consumer installed floors is end joints not being tight. With most brands it is important to give them a tap or two in both directions to assure you have a good lock.

    A couple of questions.
    Did you check floor for level before you began?
    I've seen/read people recommend that longest dimension of plank flooring run in the same direction as the longest dimension of the space. You ran it with the shortest dimension. How/why did you make your decision?

      People say perpendicular to the light source meaning the window. Also that direction left me with nice edges at the start and inside the closet.

      Seven months late , but what the heck!! One of the reasons you run it to the length of the room is that it makes the room look bigger!! Thhats what they say anyhow. 😊

    This floor will have nothing but issues for the new home owners. Good job not following prior installation instructions

      @@DIYBuilds expansion gaps are required in all directions and all sides even with the transition piece. Also don't believe the underlayment you put down would the proper moisture barrier to protect the floor from the cement. Once that floor starts to move it will have issues.

    • @DIYBuilds
      @DIYBuilds  Год назад +1

      Well I did leave expansion gaps everywhere besides the small section along the door jam but even then it can expand out the other side. Also, as the consumer all I can do is use the products the manufacturer has recommended to use.
