I gave this renovation project to the Lord a couple of weeks ago. I was not expecting the prayer at the end of this video. Thank you so much from Valdez Alaska.
I'm a professional flooring installer. 20 yrs +. This video popped up and I thought here we go, another one of these videos, lol. All good advice people. From the "cheat board", to setting out, to packing the floor off so it has a solid set to build off. I use these techniques daily! There's is a little more to it than that, but good place to start.
Thank you Jason!! Yes, there is more to it and I have videos that explain it in more detail. Here is one right here - ruclips.net/video/6eZHHSzI7Qo/видео.html
Sounds like I've come to the right place for advice then. I'm currently remodeling my home office to accommodate clients. I spent all day working on them only to pull them back up multiple times. I'm hoping after a little rest tomorrow will be a better day. Lol
In the trades for 38 years. I am constantly reading and viewing videos, so I can continue to adjust my skill level. I have watched a few of your videos, and other than some tricks of my own, I appreciated your skills and understandable personality. Definitely keep it up! Your doing a great job!
You are seriously a godsend. I was losing my mind trying to figure out why my planks were moving. So I removed the entire floor, secured my first run of planks and it went back together perfectly like LEGOs! You rock brother! And God bless you too!
I know this is not a new video but... Thank you so much for your genuine expression of faith in blessings for your audience. Thank you for being bold in your faith in the Lord Jesus. Truly enjoy your how to videos and advice given in a way that is understandable and on point. Nothing wrong with sharing your experience with products good and bad... How else are we to know. Many thanks!
Couldn’t have done my floating vinyl tile without this video! Thanks. I had to screw down a strip of plywood to get a great straight line to work from. Will do the First row last....you saved the project. I’m 70 and was getting very tired and frustrated before this help.
You saying that about praying for us, felt nice. Thank you. I'm starting a new job doing remodeling and the owner gave me a list of things to go over and research on RUclips.
I think this is the most helpful video I've seen to date. I'm covering a concrete floor in my garage that I've decided will be my home. I'm glad you're here in case I have any questions.
After watching hours of videos of people explaining how to tap the planks together I finally find this video with actual information on how to solve the puzzle. Thank you sir
Thank you for the tips and cheater board video. That prayer for our families and project (at the end) was refreshing and I wish your family and projects the same! God Bless you. TY
You just Blew me away with that prayer thank you so much I will be watching your channel all the time thank you for the tips and I look forward to more. I just started a new job the job does a lot of remodeling I’m not great at flooring but this is going to help me a lot so thank you and your family be safe and you are safe on the jobs in Jesus name

Always learning new tips and tricks from Joe! Appreciate the videos! Much Love!
Excellent tips. I’ve installed laminate and vinyl plank a few times and need to do it again soon. This will certainly help to keep that floor from sliding around and keep the space between the wall and the flooring consistent. Thank you and God bless!
I watched a bunch of your videos before I did my project and it helped me so much. You truly are trying to teach people how to do the best job they can. You make it look so easy. Funny thing is, now I watch just for fun. Thanks Joe.
Thank-you… Thank-you… Thank-you…. Getting ready to start putting vinyl plank flooring in my entire home… I found your channel and by far, THE BEST available for explaining how to do this job… I feel confident, after watching your videos (yes, some of them several times) I will be able to get through this without pulling my hair out (or having to pull the floor out and re-do it). Thank-You!!!! Awesome videos!!!
God Bless you too, I am in the middle of a project that is getting me a bit down and stressed. A rather small project but I need the plumber to move some plumbing before I can finish the drywall and set some cabinets. I have had the flooring setting in boxes for weeks now and I just want to start. But I can’t set the cabinets on the flooring and am now contemplating just doing the floor then cut out the section for the cabinets afterwards. Just so I feel I am making progress. Anyway your prayers are much appreciated thanks and God Bless.
Joe, thank you for your excellent instructions. Thank you even more for your prayers. I love when craftsmen use their skills to bring glory to God. (Exodus 35:30-35).
I'll echo what others have said here. I've watched several of your videos, and while it still took me a fair amount of time to find the center and measure where I wanted to have my cuts, your advice and expertise saved me a world of headache!! Having your first row completely straight is so dead-on critical, that without that, anyone will just be pulling their hair out trying to fix it 10 rows in. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, keep making videos because you are really making a difference!
Thanks I may need that prayer for this job, it's been 12 years since I was in flooring😆 The "measure and half" trick was a good tip, I was planning on crunching the numbers all the way.
A man of God helping others out what a blessing to all who learn from you including myself..As my pastor always says.... I am praying for you and your family.... God Bless brother.
Wow you are amazing and I didn’t expect to get choked up watching this type of video. Your prayer of blessings made me get all teary eyed. God Bless you and your family and thank you for your videos. I’m trying to get the courage to put my flooring down that my daughter surprised me with. I can’t afford the cost of installation so I have to figure this out lol 😂
Watching your video several times over gave me confidence doing our recreation room by myself (with 15 yo son). Your tips are the best compared to others.. especially the “ cheater board”.. it really helped me a lot .. thank you so much!
Joe. I have installed 2 floors. I wish I had seen your videos. But You tube didn't exist 16 years ago. Thank you. I also love that you praise God in your videos and are a proud Christian. Thank you for your prayers and blessings. God bless you and your family too.✝️
Right back at you Joe....great advice...great instruction...and very welcomed words from you.... certainly wasn't expecting the blessings from a tough looking dude such as yourself....but ya...I feel good and warm now...thanks again brother
Respect 🙏 your the man It's not often I need to set my pride aside to take a lesson. God bless your talent.. I'm grateful for your time to share. Id like to Prey for your success & health to your family. Keep smiling
I just found your channel! I just subscribed! And thank you, so much for the PRAYER 🙏…you had me then!! I try to pray every time I walk out my door! And I pray you continue to get more subscribers… thxs for your videos are awesome, and appreciate it! GOD BLESS YOU!
i do it the exact same way whenever possible, so much better than using spacers, in rooms where its a concrete sub floor, i'll generally use spacers, then place a load of planks on the starting rows to weigh it all down
Hi Joe: This is a very late thank you. I remodeled one of my rooms last summer, tore out the carpet and installed LVP. I watched dozens of your videos, some repeatedly, and while doing the install I sometimes stopped work, looked at one of your videos, and then continued. (Including "Install the First Row Last) I thought you were overdoing it when you showed how to avoid a 1-inch strip of LVP along a wall, but that was the situation in my room - if I hadn't watched your videos first! I started with a centerline and did a rough layout from there. The results are so beautiful and durable that I'm thinking of putting LVP in other rooms. Clicking boards together is easy - planning it and doing it accurately doesn't happen by accident! Thanks for you videos!! PS: One of my neighbors hired a "professional" to do his floor. He now has half inch gaps in his LVP between the short ends, you can see bumps everywhere where the installer didn't check the floor underneath, and you can see the blue padding showing through gaps everywhere. It's horrendous.
Joe, you're definitely a through back guy. Only (mostly) old school men perfect their skill, share it, and then praise God. You, truly, are a gem! Skip McCain
Thank you for all the time you and your team put into making this video. Your educator attitude and dedication to helping others gave us the confidence to take on our first ever laminate flooring install in our house. It came out great and your tips really helped out when we needed to problem solve. God bless you and your growing family.
just watching to help with my son and daughter in law install next weekend great 411 the most important message is the 1 about our LORD and Savior keep spreading the word our country need it more now than ever GOD BLESS you and keep you always your brother in CHRIST
Thank you John and blessings to you too. I was struggling with gaps during my install. I had to bite the bullet and remove ten rows of vinyl because of bow in my starter wall and the spacers wouldn't hold. I used your "firm foundation" method and it's going much better this time around.
Hey Joe, this was one awesome video. I’ve been doing flooring soooooo wrong over the years. It was fantastic listening and watching how you do floors. Thank you and God Bless you as well.
Literally going to do a floor tomorrow. I'm going to put that off until I look at some more of your videos. Being in the construction field as a detail designer and fabricator (the stuff that makes million dollar homes look like million dollar homes) DOESN'T make you an expert on everything! Thank you.
Really helpful , thanks! I’m putting a vinyl plank floor in an old Airstream we are reno’ing. I’m concerned about cutting the curves on the front & rear. Your video about cheater boards was also really helpful. Appreciate the prayer for me too!!!😊
Thank you for the great tutorial, but thank you even more for your prayer! It was very refreshing and VERY needed since we are attempting this for the first time!
Guys like you make this world doable, thank you.
Thanks brother!
Thank you for that prayer and blessing. I didn’t expect that, I’m enjoying this channel.

Great video 16-year flooring veteran I've used this method so many times with hardwood I never thought to use it with vinyl plank good stuff here
You are seriously a godsend. I was losing my mind trying to figure out why my planks were moving. So I removed the entire floor, secured my first run of planks and it went back together perfectly like LEGOs! You rock brother! And God bless you too!

Thank you!!
I’ll be doing a 67 year old farm house soon. This will come in handy since nothing is square or level! Thank you sir! God bless.
You saying that about praying for us, felt nice. Thank you.
I'm starting a new job doing remodeling and the owner gave me a list of things to go over and research on RUclips.
Thank you for the prayers, Brother. I'm sending prayers to you and your family for continued health, happiness and prosperity.

Well done. The way you speak so calmly, and your years of experience show using some great secrets of the trade.
Amen brother I praise you for sharing the love of Christ thru your platform

I just start laying planks with no measuring and it seems to work fine
Thank you for being man enough to say the LORD's name on your channel! May the LORD bless you also abundantly.
Joe. Thanks to your videos I gained the confidence to take on and successfully complete my first project using vinyl plank. Thank you.
You got this
Excellent tips. I’ve installed laminate and vinyl plank a few times and need to do it again soon. This will certainly help to keep that floor from sliding around and keep the space between the wall and the flooring consistent. Thank you and God bless!
