Sheed was great. I became a fan as soon as I became aware of who he was when he was on the Blazers. I knew him going to Detroit would put them over the top to win a title. Sheed was very underrated.
What everyone is seeing in this video he’s been doing since high school I grew up watching him play basketball back then and the drive and potential always been there and he is one of the best basketball players to have ever played the game 💯💯💯💯
Sheed had one last really underrated season with the Celtics that made it to OT of Game 7 of the 2010 Finals. Really exemplified of when the dude would coast, but also when he turned it on, it was clear that he was a top player in the league. When you think of 2001, and how stacked the power forward position was league-wide: Duncan, Garnett, Nowitzki, Webber, Karl Malone was still delivering, Walker, Davis, Horry, Baker, Glenn Robinson, McDyess... all mentioned Rasheed, when he was on, as their toughest opponent.
Check out the recent interview with Sheed and Wells. He was unselfish on purpose. Wells said he was telling Sheed to go get his like the other premier forwards but Sheed said he didn’t want the offense to be focused around him because if he got hurt the other players would have to do stuff they were not use too. So it wasn’t that he underperformed, he was the ultimate team first player. I still wished he went in more. He had the talent to do so.
That two ball shot was crazy-great job finding this content! I‘ve seen Sheed similar during his career, great potential yet never really in the brightest spotlight. But though I really like the guy and think he‘d be a perfect fit for todays game (if you‘d sew his mouth shut of course),I‘d argue over Top 5 PF-there‘s been so much quality even if we‘d only include his timeframe!
Being from Portland, Sheed was under rated and under used. Mostly because he took himself out of the game. Once I learned to ignore the refs because they're going to do what they're going to do the game became easier. HOFamer
I loved Rasheed, I started really following basketball when the Rockets won their two rings, and I saw how Robert Horry was an outside shooting big man, and I thought that's what a great power forward should be, Rasheed was that before Dirk made it big. I think Rasheed had a good career, but he could've had an even better one if his focus was there.
His stats were just solid, not spectacular. Of course I'm sure that's because he was so unselfish and honestly did not care about the spotlight. I don't think there's any doubt he couldn't have been a career-long 20-10 guy. But frankly, he let his emotions get the better of him with the refs. That and being unselfish, contributed to him having lower numbers than some other superstars
Love rasheed, very talented ball player, did it all... aside from bringing all the attention to the techs, he was underrated for playing great team ball. He wasn't a selfish player at all.
In his last 4 years in Detroit he averaged 35% on three point shots and still he didn't average more than 15 points a game for Detroit. Why? He didn't shoot that much. Today's NBA players throw up 3's without any consciousness. Sheed was a team player. He wanted to fit in not stand out.
Rasheed was the most skilled player at his size..... If he had a me first attitude he would have easily avg 26 n 12 for his prime... However he was a team first guy and didn't want to take that many shots...
At times I feel he doesn't have the numbers to make the HOF. Then you see Michael Cooper and Bobby Jones recently got in. And I think they're deserving as well. It's just that they were largely, subs coming off the bench. And Rasheed was almost always a starter. Much of that is a testament to how he did not care about stats.
He definitely my top 5 favorite powers foward of all time hands down!!! I never understood why the hell he not in the hall of fame because he DEFINITELY deserves to be in it!!!
Hall of Fame is too image-oriented; they only want dudes who fit their squeaky-clean image. It's why it took Tim Hardaway so long to get in, because he said he wasn't comfortable with gay people or something decades ago. I'm sure some voters don't like how many techs Rasheed got even though HE WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT about the refs being biased against certain players and corrupt.
Yo man i love your videos. Thank for uploading this old gold thing. Can I ask you something? Can you please upload a video about chaunsy billups? Thanks
This made me so happy. Thank you for making this. I loved Sheed and still do. Such a great player and a good person. Dude got shit on by the media and the NBA. Sheed always a real one. #balldontlie
KG didn't have his range. TD didn't either. Dirk didn't have his defensive ability. Honestly, Sheed may have been more versatile than all of them. Although he was not as consistent as they were, either.
@@Amick44 I agree. Sheed was the most complete 4 of my generation. He rarely puts the ball on d floor, his high release was nearly unstoppable and he was never lazy on defense. If Sheed had Kobe’s focus and determination all the time.. sky was the limit.
@@Amick44 IMO.. Sheed is the player you don’t wanna guard, the team mate you’d really like to have and most likely a really cool guy. I’m really glad he has a chip with that BadA$$ Pistons team.
Rasheed was my favorite player. I agree with everything they said. He didn't get enough touches. He wasn't ever a focal point. Coaches only looked at his techs, not his talent. He gave Tim and KG problems, but was looked at as a really good role player even though he wasn't.
FACTS!! I played ball with some good cats in NC, and they used to laugh at me when I told them Rasheed Wallace was my favorite power forward from a skillset standpoint. He was well rounded for the position. Athletic, big body not scared to bang, great shooter, post up, EVERYTHING. Is he a position coach or anything with any nba teams now? If not, he definitely should be.
If he wasn't so young at the time in Portland. He would/should have took that last shot that Pippen and Sabonis fucked up to beat the Lakers in the conference finals...
We LOVED SHEED in Detroit. He was so passionate. Thats all we want in Detroit, Passion, the rest will fall in line. Its how Detroit does Championships. No superstars.
Used to create custom teams back in the day in NBA Live. Sheed would always be there in my line-up regardless if I needed an athletic line-up, or a one that can stretch the floor.
I loved watching Sheed in the 90's. Bit hazy now, but definitely top 3 favourite players at the time, probably with Malone and Shaun Kemp. He was true to himself. Had a lot of fun, talked a lot of shit and yeah, probably didn't max his potential like Giannis or Kobe or Bron. But I dunno. There has to be room in sports for the flawed geniuses. AI another one who didn't max out his talent. You can say they let themselves down, but really , how can you when they stay true to their own characters ? That's what made the 90s NBA so much fun.
As a Philadelphian, I am proud that Sheed brought the city's attitude to the NBA, and before "trust the process", we had " Ball Don't Lie!" Philly walks the walk.
When the Talent competed with the Craziness, I truly liked this RW, Amazing basketball and commitment at both sides of the court. These are the kind of colourful players that brings so much contribution to the team and to the game. Did someone mention old Skole?
True story: I bought season ticket package within 5 minutes of the announcement that we got Sheed from ATL. My IMMEDIATE thought was, "We just won the championship - and I'm gonna be there!" I was right. Every game was a party. We mauled EVERYBODY, ..not just Lakers.
Sheed was my favorite Power Forward of that era. And there was Duncan, Garnett, Stoudemire, Nowitzki, Kenyon Martin. Webber. Every night there were good match ups. In today’s NBA all they wanna do is shoot the 3
They saying Rasheed would win a Chip league and finals Mvp…. Basically. He would skip from 3rd to first best playing on a Championship team today…Sheed was cold tho
Rasheed's a Dean Smith guy. Meaning- he believes in team basketball. He wanted to the whole team to play well, not just pad his stat line. Great player.
Sheed was great. I became a fan as soon as I became aware of who he was when he was on the Blazers. I knew him going to Detroit would put them over the top to win a title. Sheed was very underrated.
Sheed couldn't be put down by the system, he was always one of my favs. I think he has more satisfaction now than most.
Sheed & Ben Wallace were monsters.
Brian Williams (rip) and Indiana Davis duo are tough, too . Shed game is legit he can play in any Era
Yup!
oh Man, i missed my idol the real Cool Bad Ass/BadBoy Rasheed Wallace
Dale and, was Antonio related to Anthony? @@reilym979
Finally!!!!! Rasheed “guaransheed” Wallace
Finally one of my favorite players getting the respect that he deserves!!! Highly skilled PF and he was so unselfish bro
He was ferocious. I loved watching him play.
Sheed top five or six power forward of all-time.
The Detroit Pistons of the early 2000s are underrated.
I was really happy when the Pistons won the championship in 2004.
They also get credit for making it to the finials again in 2005.
Super underrated basketball player.
What everyone is seeing in this video he’s been doing since high school I grew up watching him play basketball back then and the drive and potential always been there and he is one of the best basketball players to have ever played the game 💯💯💯💯
He was a big time baller. That Detroit team was a treat to watch.
The first championship I can remember. I started calling myself Big Ben.
Agree…his length and his three point touch
Sheed was also…a FABULOUS defender.

Sheed over Draymond all day every day. Watched him at UNC knew right away he was going to be an NBA all-star.
There is no comparison between Rasheed and Mr. Triple Singles.
Rasheed was one of my favorite players, esp when he was with the Blazers. His game was so smooth. He would tear it up in today's game.
Being from Portland, Sheed was under rated and under used.
Mostly because he took himself out of the game.

As a former Jazz fan, I always had the JamBlazer games circles on the calendar.
Always one of my favorite players to watch growing up. Thanks for making this!
I remember when he played for the bullets that team was stacked. Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Rasheed Wallace.
He had the best turnaround jumper from the block in the entire game. It was un-blockable.
Thing of beauty too. LMA too had it, but Sheed. Man.
"Ball don't lie"
It never does
Best NBA quote ever
Yea Sheed would eat this boys in todays NBA

One of One, man. One of One.
Yes, Sheed could have been a top tier all time Player but he was more focused on being a team Player even tho he was so talented.
Great video. Thank you for posting. I agree, Rasheed could have been a great player in any era. He was always his worst enemy
Damn good docu on Sheed!!!
Some people want the rings, some people want the individual stats.
Sheed was so happy to get the ring as a Piston.
He would make the modern children of the NBA to cry
Sheed was always my second favorite PF after Kemp. Don't understand why he was always so underapriciated

Sheed, Kemp and Mailman. Wonderful fucking days, man to be a bball fan.
Sheed was a BEAST. Was never a piston fan, but sheed was a problem for anyone that lined up against him. Could ball and had the respect of his peers.
Rasheed was a great player.

Rasheed Wallace is my favorite player of all time. Glad to see people talk about him nicely
