Because of 22plinkster and Military Arms Channel's recommendations, I just bought a TX22. It is a fantastic gun. Over a 1000 rounds of Federal bulk with one fail to feed. Great trigger and accurate. I also own a Glock G44 which will only work with expensive CCI Mini Mag ammunition. I will be selling the Glock G44.

I bought one to match my Taurus G3, they’re both the same size so training with the TX22 is much cheaper to run than the 9mm. I’m really happy with both of them. Taurus is doing something right.

Went to buy this pistol yesterday with my 12yo daughter as a good trainer for her and my son. My daughter is 5-4 130 . Reason I’m pointing this out is as awesome and light as this pistol is.. it’s no where near .22 pistol size. It’s more like a .45. After holding several .22 in this market area we left with the M&P22. I will admit I was very disappointed but I’d the grip was bordering to large for her to get a comfortable grip then no way my 6yo son will even be able to reach the trigger. Anyone looking for a trainer for younger people this Sadly isn’t a good choice. If you are Interested for yourself then it’s no contest. Can’t even describe how light the pistol is even for a 22 and how nice the trigger is.

thanks for review and love buying guns from kentucky gun great prices and service !! bought the g44 from y`all ,and not the taurus tx22 --. my experience is opposite
of most internet wisdom . my much praised taurus tx22 was a lemon out of the box with
a bad barrel and 2 bad mags . pretty much unshootable after 400 rds and after trying every thing imaginable to get it going .
had a out of battery explosion . sent it back to taurus 6 weeks ago, no help . they have the worst
customer service in the gun industry . on the other hand , my brother got a glock g44 and
it has been running great . don`t believe all the big gun channel propaganda . we have shot
all manner of bulk ammo in it ( 1500+) . of course some bulk ammo is so bad it won`t shoot in any
semi auto . and all semi auto` like 40 gn. round nose bullets. like any .22 it loves cci
mini mags but will shoot most anything else. don`t have too use any magazine loading voodoo
either . one thing all the internet gunfighters are not doing is cleaning and lubricating
them . this is crucial because all .22 semi autos run. on the EDGE OF RELIABILITY due to
their low power dirty ammo and blow back operation . any way --there are plenty of better
.22`s out there than the tx 22 or the glock but don`t buy into all hype on either one . there
is nothing the matter with the g44 as a plinker or trainer .
much prefer having glock warranty over taurus customer no service ------------

Considering Taurus had a bad batch with barrel issues, is there an easy way to know either physically with the pistol, or by the serial#(or some other # on the box) whether or not you have a bad, or good TX22? I'd really like to get 1, but nobody local has any and I feel like it's a risk ordering on-line and hoping I get a solid 1. I just don't have the $ to waste, only to have to wait an extra 6+months to get a new barrel before I can actually use my pistol

OOH, so many positive youtube reviews of this tauras I finally purchased mine 7/5/19 and was totally excited for this gun finally got the chance to get out and start putting some rounds down range, yeah.... ¡¡NO BUENO!! Mine must have come with a gremlin My gun kept malfunctioning, slide kept locking back after litterally 2nd round fired, it just kep locking took the clip out tried again, tried the other clip, nope! Thinking it was ammo (using walmart winchester M-22) I swapped the ammo out to (walmart again, remmington thunderbolt) still kept getting slide lock also tried (you know😁, I know😥 walmart again winchester super X) still same problem thinking it was me or just needed to be better cleaned and lubed, did that, cleaned it and lubed, basic field strip, still same problem thinking it was maybe my hand catching on the slide lock I fired one handed left hand making sure I wasn't putting my hand on the slide lock still same problem bout 200rnds into it of test firing, I started to notice that the gun slide was not going all the way into battery (maybe because of carbon/lead fouling) eventually I started getting FTF soft rim strikes long story short just sent to manufacture😥😥😥😥😥 I hope anyone and everyone has a better experiance and that that it was just a bad fluke on my taurus its self and that tauras can get it fixed sure would be disapointing for it to become a paperweight guess only time will tell.

mine had 2 bad mags that i believe where bad moldings (PLASTIC MAGS ) that would ever
so slightly bend or dent the ammo feeding and cause failures to chamber and extract .
had to poke cases out with a cleaning rod. proved this to myself by substituting a third
mag i purchased extra and it would shoot . call taurus and report this and they may
send replacements in a couple of years ------good luck

The only lead round nose I put though my so far was the Remington 22 Thunderbolts from a bulk brick, about 7-8 rounds in it had feeding issues including literally sheering off the outer waxing around the bullet. Absolutely loves Federal bulk bricks, with the exception of a light primer strike, has feed over 400 with zero issues.

Using the tabs to load the mags gives you a higher chance of miss feeds due to rim overlap. If you load the rounds in the mags like you would any standard magazine you have far less chance of feeding problems due to poor magazine loading

    • @dickdanger7867
      @dickdanger7867 4 года назад

Thanks, I shot mine for the first time today and had almost nothing but feed problems. I was using the tabs all the way down and just letting the rounds fall in there all willy- nilly . After closer examination of how the magazine works it's kind of a hybrid of single stack in the front and double stack on the rim end. That should explain the rim overlap blocking the next round from feeding.

    Mine is breaking in nicely.
There are a number of +3 conversions for the mags but you lose the loading knobs.
Every time I take it out I can't help but think how much fun this would be if it was a .22 mag.
A great training aid for female or first-time shooters. Very light, very little recoil or muzzle flip and will be great for teaching sight picture and trigger control.
If you carry a G2 or G3, it will be an economical training aid with the cost of 9mm ammo these days.

It must suck to be Taurus and go to the 2019 SHOT Show to announce your 16 round 22 pistol and Kel-Tec is there with their 33 round CP33.
That little Taurus 22 looks pretty sweet and I'm probably going to have to buy one of those even though I'm still loving my new CP33.
Most of your demo strings were 14 or 15 rounds and not 16. For example the Golden Bullet was 14 and the Velocitor after that was 15.

    • @WickedDealer
      @WickedDealer 5 лет назад +4

It's also much easier to load the Taurus TX22, not to mention much cheaper compared to the Kel-Tec which is unavailable in a ton of places. If you like the full size Smith & Wesson's or Sig's, the TX is basically those guns, but in 22 caliber, with a very nice trigger to boot.

Have you actually tried loading this magazine? With the spring system it has in the magazine, we found it tough to load it once you had more than 10 rounds in it. The tabs on this magazine are there for a reason, further Taurus now includes a magazine loader with this firearm (this was not originally included, but after customer complaints they realized how hard it is to load).

I’ve shot at least 1200 rounds through it. I loaded the magazines like every other double stack mag. Didn’t have any issues. Mine did come with the little speed loader as well, while it’s easier on the fingers, I find it takes a little longer. Overall, absolutely love the TX22. Zero issues beyond a couple bad rounds. 22lr ammo is much more reliable than it was 5-6 years ago.

MSRP is $349.99, but they have been found for about $100 less than that. Right now (October 2020) they're getting scarce, and $299.99 was the best price I could find (Sportsmans Outdoors Superstore - seems I got their last one, as now they say it's out of stock).
