First, I know I say "Taurus" funny; it's my good ole Tennessee dialect that loves to mispronounce words. Don't hate on me for that 🙂. Also, I failed to mention the price of the pistol: MSRP is $349. Real world price on this handgun is around $310. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
"Taurus", "stinger"...you have your own way of speaking. It's funny to hear the first time, like anyone who pronounces something just a bit different, but not distracting. Besides, I'm from Missour-ah, so I can't complain. 😊
I've had the TX22 for a week now. My 3rd shot was a failure to feed. I have put 900 rounds of CCI Tactical with that 1 failure to feed and another 500 rounds of CCI blazer with no failures. This gun is the real deal. Would recommend new sights. Highly recommend to anyone watching.
Only had 2 failure to feed on the 2nd round of both magazines. Then smooth sailing from there. Wonder whats causing it. Used CCI Standard. The Aguila had 0 malfunctions.
The Taurus TX22 was Guns & Ammo's 2019 "Handgun of the Year." it is ABSOLUTELY the most ergonomically pleasant .22 I've ever fired. The trigger pull is a dream.
Have you tried the S&W 22 Compact? That's what I have and it's pretty ergonomic, feels great in the hand. I haven't had a failure of any kind yet, about 600 rounds through it so far.
Yes sir. I just fired this one yesterday. Loved the feel in my hands. Absolutely a blast to fire. I’ll definitely be buying one for my girls and for training
I've been looking to down-grade from 9mm since I have some shoulder injuries and a surgical repair that didn't work, and 9mm and higher just tears me up after a day at the range. I've been actively shopping 22s lately, and this could be the one. Thanks. I love when people laugh at people who choose smaller bore rounds as a waste of time or as ineffective, or as "girl guns". My answer is always the same... "Cool, can I shoot you with my 22?" So far, no one has said yes, so I guess they don't suck as much as people say.
I agree with you Chris but would say also consider .380acp as an option. If you get a decent size handgun there will be minimal recoil and a lot of the 380's on the market today are a lot easier to rack the slide than 9mm. A couple of suggestions I would make would be the S&W 380EZ, new Walther CCP M2 in 380, as well as SCCY CPX 3 or 4 and look for them to make their new DVG 1 in 380 soon I'm sure. I would also recommend a revolver that is capable of shooting 327 federal magnum, as you could then shoot 32 short, 32 long, 32 h&r and 32 acp. Also a revolver has no slide to rack. Nothing against 22lr and I don't want shot by it, just ammo finicky at times and not great against heavy clothing layers or other obstacles. Good luck with your shoulder issues hope they can be fixed for you.
I have not been a Taurus fan for many years because of a couple very bad guns I had years ago, but I'm happy to say that my opinion may be changing. It seems they are getting their act together. I'm glad to see it. I'd love to see all gun companies succeed.
I bought my TX22 after watching your review. I finally got to put some rounds through it this weekend. I put about 200 rounds of CCI mini mag through with 1 FTF. Love this gun. Your review is spot on. Thanks man! Keep plinking.
I've had this gun for one day. I love it. I shot 300 rounds through it. Brand new, I had two failures to feed (I consider the first 100 rounds as a breakin period). No failures for the next 200 rounds (see item #4 for mag loading). I was in the market for a Kel-tec P17 but haven't been able to procure one for over a year now. I decided to pony up the extra dough for this pistol. I don't know why I was hung up over the extra $100. I can't compare it to the Kel-tec since I've never fired one but I was not disappointed in my purchase of the TX-22. I hadn't seen this video before I bought it. I only vaguely remember the G&A article on it 2 yrs ago. My first impressions. 1. This gun's accuracy is very good. 2. The grip on this gun feels just right, Tauras knocked it out of the park on that one. 3. The sights need tweeked to suit your preferences. The adjustable sight is good but not great in adjustment range. 4.There is a trick to easy loading of the mags. Pull the round "handles" only down far enough to load a few cartridges at a time (It does get hard to pull at the last 12-16 cartridges). When done slap the mag against your palm and the last few bullets get into proper alignment for feeding. BTW: Running CCI 1070 fps standard ammo through it the whole time.
I bought one of these pistols and was so excited. Took it to the range and it ate everything I fed it. At 250 rounds it started to key hole. The barrel was so caked with lead that when I tried to clean it my cleaning rod got stuck inside and then when I pulled it out the tip remained stuck in the barrel. Sent it back. After a quick search I see that this issue with barrels is common. It ran like a champ and turns out I am the chump.
I am so happy for Taurus. The undeserved (for the most part) red headed step child of the gun world. This pistol has been a resounding success with stellar reviews and I hope Taurus continues to move forward with other highly functioning, quality based firearms. Good on you Taurus and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! America!!!!
Taurus deserves all the hate they get. Worst customer service ever!!!! I love my public defender, but the other 3 Taurus guns I bought, were junk. My 454 raging bull broke after 3 shots. Taurus had it 4 months. Total bullshit when a $900 gun is basically junk out of the box. Poor quality control.
Taurus has earned that criticism. There are actual support groups in South America for spouses of police officers who lost their lives due to a Taurus failure. Research the lawsuits against them for the problems their gen 1 sub compacts. They are improving but they deserve the hate.
I’ve only owned a few Taurus’s. They have all been PT111 G2’s. They have been super reliable, and I daily carry mine most days I carry. My wife conceals hers in her purse daily. I have one of these on order through my FFL, and I cannot wait to range it out. Yeah, I know, it’s a Taurus, but for me, my experience has been nothing but fantastic. I’ve even got some friends to get themselves the G2 or G2C. Thanks for an honest review.
I impulse bought this gun today. It is a blast to shoot. Pretty darn accurate in my hands and I am not even close to being a handgun master. Had a few mis feeds but all the misfeeds came with cheap ammo that’s been sitting in a box for literally 30 years. With the better ammo I bought, no misfeeds. I also put put close to 400 rounds through it between my son and I.
WOW, Awesome 22 LR Pistol. Just bought one of these yesterday. Cleaned and lubed it last night, took it to the range today. I put over 250 rounds of 9 different LR cartridges. I had only 3 rounds that didn’t fully get ejected. This is my first 22 Pistol, now Glock will make one since I bought this one. I almost bought the Advantage Arms conversion kit with the threaded barrel. It would have cost more than this whole pistol and much less warranty. All the excellent reviews on this pistol made me try it. Glad I did, paid $300 for it, I couldn’t be happier. Mounted my suppressor to it and it was way to much fun. Thanks Taurus….
@Erin There will never be a firearm that doesn't have some type of failure since there are so many factors in why failures occur with firearms and isn't always the firearm. It can be from User Failure, Ammo Failure, Firearm Failure, Environment Failure, Magazine Failure, and lastly Tarus Failure (Had to do it). I'm not referring only to jams whatsoever.
@Erin ... agreed. However EVERY firearm jams, whether it's semiautomatic or not. Even a bolt-action or pump-action firearm can jam (and sometimes in some pretty bizarre ways!). There is no firearm in history that has never jammed, from the most reliable tactical tupperware to the piggiest pig iron 1911 or 12ga shotgun.
gymkhanadog That isn't bad, for a .22 rimfire round that isn't even designed for auto loaders. Every other cartridge that's designed for an auto loader, is RIMLESS. There's a reason for that... I just got back home from shooting my .223 Savage bolt rifle, and my little Phoenix Arms HP22. I had replaced the extractor on my Phoenix, and I wanted to see if it was fixed. It ran great! I had my .223 sighted dead on at 200 yards, the last time that I was out playing with it. Well, today it was so windy, that it was hitting 4" to the right. Probably 35 mph wind bursts. Not a good day to be shooting a rifle. I had to get out and shoot tho, because it had rained here for the last 4 days. Ahhhhh..... I feel better now. Does anyone else go thru withdrawals when they don't get to shoot for a few days??? I know I do!
To the Taurus critics I don't understand why anyone would still be condemning Taurus when they are currently manufacturing quality guns at generally speaking very reasonable prices. It's to every shooters benefit that there are more high quality firearms available at this price point. As it is I have never owned a Taurus pistol and still haven't purchased one but the G2C has really gotten my attention. You've got to spend a whole helluva lot more money to get an arguably better 9mm automatic. The G2C has impressed me so much I plan to buy one soon even though I don't need another 9mm. Now, with the release of the TH9 and this new TX22 it is obvious that Taurus is on a roll and deserves support. The only people who I might forgive are those who have, in the past, purchased a Taurus gun and had problems with it. I had the same issue with a S&W Shield 9mm. I learned to really hate that gun and traded it for a Walther. Despite that I don't go around condemning Smith & Wesson as a manufacturer. What I have always liked about Taurus pistols is that they are always doing very innovative things with their weapons and, now, with their quality on the rise I welcome them and congratulate them for the success they are having. I hope they keep going in this direction. My only complaint is that their customer service is still rumored to be awful. I hope that they address that soon.
Bkellyusa Customer service is very slow. I sent a TCP .380 to them one time, and didn't get it back for 4 months. They replaced the barrel, and the slide, and it ran great when I got it back, but 4 months is rediculous. I recently gave that gun to my mom, because all she had was a .38 ultra lite that hurt her hand when she shot it. I'm gonna take her out and train her with it, one day this week. I want her to feel confident carrying a weapon, and knowing she could use it, if she had to. Besides, I've got plenty of carry options, so I didn't really need it.
@@grumpysquid - I bought the Walther CCP M2. I love mine as well. The S&W Shield is really hard to rack for my wife and you cannot release the slide without using both hands. Add to that the Walther is significantly more accurate. Your PPS is generally considered a better weapon. The original CCP had some jamming issues and I think that has dampened the enthusiasm for the new M2 version which works flawlessly. I chose it over the PPS because the PPS does not have a thumb safety. I know there are many people who don't care for a thumb safety but I like to keep all my options open and, in the real world, if you don't like the safety you can easily just turn it off. The CCP M2 is my first Walther pistol and my experience so far has really awakened me to the brand. Now I'd like to get the PPQ Sc 9mm. We'll keep the CCP M2 and add that one sometime in the future. How come you chose the PPS.
Bkellyusa you seem like a very reasonable and level headed guy 😬 PPS M2 compared to G43 and Shield because: out-of-the-box performance, best trigger, aftermarket not needed, best ergonomics for my hand, 6 to 8-rd mags available, and its uniqueness in looks, etc. Had it over a couple years and here are my nitpicks (based on MY needs, etc): mags are $40 a pop (but again this is not a big deal), some tiny rust spots forming on the metal mags, no +P ammo (per the manufacturer, not a big deal). Otherwise it has been a stellar gun, fun to shoot and the one which makes it to my hip most often.
Great review; no unnecessary blaring background music, straight and short to the points with unbiased logical commentary. Good job. I have one on the way from Palmatto.
I wonder how few people know how incredible of a shot 22plinkster is. He's pulled off some legendary stuff. In case you're new, he's not simply a .22 fan(like me).
I bought one after watching several videos on RUclips. I also have the SR22 which has not been shot all that much. Took them both out one day to compare them and the Taurus was an absolute hoot to shoot. Thinking of selling the Ruger!
@@traxxasrcfun mine kicked, cough and fought until I got about 300 rounds through it. After that, I put another 6-700 through it, and it ran flawlessly
Picked one up today. Range trip in two days. :D Likes: 1) Noticeably incredibly light. Aluminum slide cuts the weight. 2) The grip. Superb. Curved, swells to fit your hand, almost like you squeezed silly puddy and it formed to your grip. 3) Short trigger reset and consistent wall before breaking. 4) (essentially) Fixed barrel. Accuracy and feeding bonus. 5) Front/rear serrations. Easy to train with either/both. 6) Side ejecting, Browning-style slide. Makes training for your CCW all the more realistic and accurate. 7) Suppressor ready. 8) Two 16rd mags. 9) Large, large, squared off trigger gaurd. Between this and the large, large finger memory grooves on the frame, you know exactly where your fingers go, and developed muscle memory. 10) Adjustable sights. Cons: 1) ALMOST need to adjust my grip to detach the magazine with my shooting thumb. Seems to be just a bit too far forward. Button is large and shielded though. YMMV. 2) Trigger feels like it has a sheath over it. Which it does. Doesn't scream quality/tight tolerance, but it doesn't need to. 3) No replaceable rear grip panels. Doesn't need it. 4) Manual safety only engage-able when the striker is racked. Kinda doubles as a "condition indicator", but it is what it is.
THIS COMPANY HAVE NEW INVESTERS , MANY NEW ENGINEERS AND NEW CNC MACHINES. THEY HAVE BEEN PUTTING OUT GREAT GUNS LATELY. HOPE FOR THE BEST IN THE FUTURE FOR TAURUS !
I just got one of these for my Birthday. It was my gift from my wife. I shot it earlier today. No real target practice. We still have snow in Alaska. But it was fun to shoot. I was only adding 15 into each mag. I shot 30 rounds and then let my neighbor do the same. It jammed on him twice. I then shot another 30 rounds with no problem. It definitely feels sloppy leading the mags. All in all, I love this gun. Lightweight, Fun to shoot! Thanks for all your content.
Thanks for the review. I ordered one today from shieldgroup for $213.99 plus shipping. Jim at shield is a great guy to deal with.I also ordered two extra mags for this pistol. I already have a can for my Walther P22.
Looking forward to getting 4 of these for my daughter's to learn with. What a great training option. The price point is excellent to. Thanks for the review.
I've had mine for about 3 weeks now, and I really enjoy shooting it. I have neighbors who live fairly close, so I don't like shooting my bigger (louder) pistols in the woods behind our house; while the TX22 isn't completely quiet, it's much quieter than the others. It feels great in my hand, seems to be very reliable and accurate, and it's much cheaper and easier to find .22LRs than 9s, .380s, or .38 SPLs. I won't use it for EDC, but it's fun to shoot. I like that it came with the threaded adapter too. One thing about loading the magazines. Mine came with a little plastic "speed loader" thingy in the box. There was nothing about it in the owner's manual, so I wasn't even sure what it was, but after messing around with it, I realized it was to assist in loading the magazines. It's not as useful as my Maglula loader, which won't work with the .22LRs, but it also wasn't $30, and seems to do the job.
Just got my TX22. Had failure to feed in first couple mags. Disassembled the mags, used but of dry lube, reaasembled. Started to pay close attention to loading to insure rims properly staggered. Loading 'like a 9mm' actually helps prevent misaligned rounds. 500 rounds later no failures. Mine also groups a bit high with tight group, so use 6 oclock hold. I also have a G3c and love it. Taurus is upping their game.
So value your balanced and honest opinion. Had a Taurus 9mm Slim. Sent it back for constant FTE issues. They checked the 2 mags, allegedly repaired it. Still same issue with all types of ammunition. Finally gave it away with full warning. Who knows. Keep in mind Taurus only gives a one year warranty, they don't even trust their product.
I had a ton of .22 ammo so I knew it was time to buy a handgun. I own a .22 revolver that I love, and I was not disappointed with the TX22. It's by no means a perfect gun, but it's great at the range and I've yet to experience any major issues. I've put well over 1000 rounds through it.
I've been wanting a 22LR gun for a long time, and since I work armed security, and have to renew my license annually, I bought this to practice with cheap ammo. Just bought mine for $270.00 and I love it. It's light, but feels great in the hand. I was a little worried about the magazine, the rounds at the bottom are very eschew when the magazine is fully loaded, but it seems to work just fine. I highly recommend this gun if you can find one.
Shot one of these at my local range. Rented it along with a Ruger SR22. Taurus fed flawlessly, felt great in my hands, very low recoil, trigger pull was a dream. Had to trade out the SR22 for another gun because I got 2 malfunctions in 4 rounds.
I have one that I’ve never used but I’m gonna try it out in a couple of days. I’ve always said I’ll only use it for protection only. I keep it near me at all times other than unauthorized areas/buildings/locations. Cop even stopped me ,put my clip in for me and sent me on my merry way lol. I’m gonna take it to the range for a little brushing up.
Glad to see this is a hit for Taurus. I had a G2c for a while and it was less refined than other guns I have...a little rough around the edges...but functioned flawlessly everytime...even with 9mm shotshell! I looked at the new G3 and the trigger is far nicer than the G2...hopefully they make a G3c and G3s.
Just bought one, went to the range and promptly put 100 rounds in a coffee cup at 50 yards. No FTF/FFE or problems with either of the 2 magazines. First Taurus in 20 years. Great gun, now to buy a can...
Bought a Ruger 22 Charger a month or so ago. Added a brace. I've shot CCI exclusively. No issues. I will be buying this Taurus. My friend bought the Ruger Lcp II in 22lr. Nothing but problems. I have the LCP II in 380 form. Great firearm. I did tell him to buy the Taurus.
I just brought one home today. My son and I put 200 rounds threw it and had a hang up on #10 and that was the only one that has hung up. I cleaned the barrel and run it on the lub it had from the factory seems to be a great gun I would recommend it to everyone I'm not brand specific either. I have Glock ,Rugar, Springfield, HK and other. I buy what fits my hand and feels good in the caliber I want.
Taurus has come a long way in the last few years. I absolutely love my 856 UL 38 spl. Most accurate handgun I own. At 30 yards it groups 4 inches on a paper plate. I could hit a nose eye mouth or forehead at 30 yards easy.
Thank you for all your information. I bought this gun last week at a gun show and I knew absolutely nothing about it. I liked how it looked and felt I was looking for a 22. Thank you once again
Well, this will be my next 22. Thanks for a great review. I really hope that Taurus is on a path to consistent and improved quality. This will be my 3rd Taurus, all semi auto and I've had good luck. As to how you pronounce Taurus... sounded normal to this southerner.
I'm a huge fan of Taurus handguns, both revolver and semi auto. When the new. 22 came out I wanted it... Lol all I've heard is nothing but good things about it. Thank you for reviewing it!! I WILL be buying one so I can use it and also use it to train my wife and son
I bought this for my sister who has trouble handling my S&W M&P 9mm 2.0. I like my M&P but my sis can't handle it very well. I bought the TX22 and I like it a lot. It's feels good in my hands, is accurate and fun to shoot. My sister can manipulate it and shoot it with reasonable accuracy even with arthritis in both hands. I've put about 500 rounds through it and haven't had a misfeed. I highly recommend this pistol.
I had a bunch of misfeeds when I first got this gun but I took apart the magazines and gave them a good cleaning and now its so smooth! I still like my Ruger SR22 a little more but this is a great gun.
I am looking forward to trying this. I have a 709 slim in 9mm from Taurus. I absolutely love it. It is very accurate and I dont recall ever having a feed failure. A few years ago it was one of only 3 compact 9mm in a bit "shootout" by a major handgun magazine. If I recall correctly, they shot 600 rounds through each pistol with no lube ....just as it came from the factory. If no failures occurred they went to 1000 rounds. Only 4 made it....Glock 43, Shield, Taurus 709 slim and Walther CCP. Another note, of all the guns, the Taurus logged the single tightest group of 5. Its a great and economical pistol.
I have owned a number of Taurus pistols. I now own a G2C and a TX22. I have traded all but these two. Problems, problems, problems with all of them. The G2C is the only one I am glad I purchased. My TX22 has all the right features and this video is accurate on that point, but Taurus is the most inconsistent brand I own. You never know what you are going to get other than a good price. It is a total roll of the dice. My TZX22 fails to feed 25 to 50% of the time. I took all 5 of my magazines apart and cleaned as recommended in the RUclips videos, even though I have never had to do that with any other brand. Still, have the same problem. I thought CCI Mini Mags would solve the problem. They were the worst. Aguila was horrible as well. Remington Thunderbolt 40gr and Federal 40gr worked. I almost traded the gun yesterday but decided to hold onto it for awhile. I own all the major and not so major brands like Canik and have NEVER had an ammo problem, even in my 1911s. Taurus is an inconsistent manufacturer and the consumer never knows what he/she will be getting. After 5 tries, I will never buy another Taurus, even if there are 50 new videos telling me that Taurus has come a long way. BTW, my Victory 22 will shoot anything. Yes, it is only 10 rounds, but they go bang EVERY time with any ammo.
I love your videos man... good review. Having worked in gun shops, i've seen way too many problems with Taurus pistols and revolvers. I know that 85% of them work okay. I'd like to see you do a 2000rd endurance test cleaning every 500 rounds before i bought one of these. Great review brother!!! GO VOLS
My first day at the range with my TX22 -- which I bought about a year & 1/2 ago -- I had malfunctions every 2-3 rounds (shooting Federal Auto-Match). My instructor suggested cleaning the gun (I first shot it fresh out of the box), and then I had malfunctions about only every 5 rounds. With breaking in it gradually became more reliable. Then a crack developed on the front end of the slide. I sent the gun to Taurus for repair, and they returned it (in just 3 weeks) with the slide and the recoil spring replaced. Reliability was greatly improved, though not quite 100%. So then I followed the advice given in mixup98's RUclips video: use KleenBore's Magazine Cleaning Tool Brush to clean out the magazines to improve reliability -- and that really worked, giving me very close to 100% reliability (even when shooting that old Federal Auto-Match!). So, though it has been something of a journey for me, it has been was worth it: the gun fits my hand ideally, has a fantastic trigger, and the 16-round mags (I now have 4 of them) make for lots less interruption in range practice. Accuracy is also very good -- especially since I got Tandemkross' fiber optic front sight for it (now they also offer a different front-plus-rear sight version).
I enjoyed your video and honest review. I am retired and have been looking for a 22 semiautomatic pistol for target shooting and plinking. By the way I appreciate your honesty in all of your reviews.
Great overview on this .22 pistol. Reliable for a .22 LR, accurate, 16 round capacity AND a suppressor host.... plus affordable?!? Shoot... I might be buying my first new Taurus in a long time.
Justice405 I own 2 Taurus guns, and I love them both. My PT-111 is my EDC, because it has NEVER malfunctioned, even with crap ammo, or radically shaped HP's. My model 66, 7 shot, .357 is always on my side, in the woods. I think Taurus has been upping their game for the last few years. I can't wait to buy one of these .22's.
Nothing wrong with the new Taurus models. I own several Taurus models the first was a PT709 Slim (now G2Cs), PT111 millennium (now G2C), G2C, 1911, Rossi RS22 rifle (owned by Taurus) and my EDC TCP 738 and all have been great. My next one is the TX22.
I own a Taurus PT111 Millenium Pro (old one), Taurus 1911, an old 1984 PT92 and a newer 2009 PT92 as well. I only had a problem with the Pt111 when I first bought it. The frame inside was not to specs and so the magazine would shoot out the bottom when firing the gun. Wasn't happy about that, but I sent it in (they paid for shipping) and replaced the gun. Been firing perfect without a single malfunction since that for years. My old '84 PT92 barrel showing some wear though and losing accuracy so I'll eventually replace that. Quite normal for a 30+ year old reliable gun. I am though really excited about this TX 22 though and have been for the last few weeks. Missed a few deals on them so that is the only reason I've held off so far. I'm a deal shopper and hoping to find another for around the $250 shipped mark here soon.
I just picked up this little gem yesterday! I've owned a PT 92 AFS for over 20 years, and also have a TCP738 for my backup, so needless to say that I like the Taurus brand. So far I've put around 150 rounds through it with absolutely no issues. I used Federal 40gn. and CCI Stinger in 32 GN. Love the Stinger (one of only a few rounds of .22 in nickel casings)
The new federal punch 22 ammo is nickle coated everything bullet included suppossedly optimized for self defense from reveiws ive seen it seems to get very good penetration
I have Taurus G3 9 mm Taurus several more never had any trouble now years ago I have som trouble Taurus not in the newer Tauruses I’ve been wonderful G3 9mm run thousands of rounds I got the TX 22 on order can’t wait to get it
First, I know I say "Taurus" funny; it's my good ole Tennessee dialect that loves to mispronounce words. Don't hate on me for that 🙂. Also, I failed to mention the price of the pistol: MSRP is $349. Real world price on this handgun is around $310. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
22plinkster i'm thinking about getting an SR 22 could you do a video about that if so that would be awesome
I don't think you say Taurus funny, you sound just like me
"Taurus", "stinger"...you have your own way of speaking. It's funny to hear the first time, like anyone who pronounces something just a bit different, but not distracting. Besides, I'm from Missour-ah, so I can't complain. 😊
Well that answered my question 👌🏿
@@hboutdoors8178 he's got an SR22 review "Ruger SR22 Review" from six years ago.
My first handgun was a Taurus 9mm. Glad to see Taurus get some love.
How much does it cost? I can't find it anywhere on sale.
I paid $330. I've seen it as low as $310 on different sites. Comes with two mags. Extra mags cost $20.
Brown B good luck I’ve been searching everywhere everyone is sold out
Awesome my friend!

I had a 85ch and no issues ever. Now my mother has it.
I love my Taurus th9c I had a s&w shield 40 and I like the Taurus way better.
I have not been a Taurus fan for many years because of a couple very bad guns I had years ago, but I'm happy to say that my opinion may be changing. It seems they are getting their act together. I'm glad to see it. I'd love to see all gun companies succeed.
Just got mine. LOVE IT!!!! Accurate, low recoil, shoots ammo, priced right comes with 2 magazines.
I own 3 Taurus firearms, all are awesome. Never had a single issue. Love my Taurus firearms.
I'm about to own 3 when I buy this one
Very nicely done video. Just ordered mine from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore for $169 with the Taurus $50 rebate. 🙂
How did you get that rebate
Really? How did you get the rebate?
Yeah I just missed the rebate 🤨
I am so happy for Taurus. The undeserved (for the most part) red headed step child of the gun world. This pistol has been a resounding success with stellar reviews and I hope Taurus continues to move forward with other highly functioning, quality based firearms. Good on you Taurus and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! America!!!!
Bought there new G2C and like shooting it better than my dads shield...also only paid 187 tax and all for it!
Lol
The red-headed stepchild of the gun industry definitely belongs to high point
1 failure out of 250 is dang impressive for .22!
@Erin Obviously you dont shoot much rimfire ammo.
@Erin All firearms whether it's a semi-automatic or fully automatic firearm will have some type of failure or malfunction
gymkhanadog That isn't bad, for a .22 rimfire round that isn't even designed for auto loaders.
I have had mine for about 2 months , 500 rounds cycled , I love it. Great plinker.
Jamie Sloan how long Ago was that tho?
Bkellyusa which Walther did you get? I did research on the shield and ended up with the PPS M2. No regrets!!!
Bkellyusa you seem like a very reasonable and level headed guy 😬
PPS M2 compared to G43 and Shield because: out-of-the-box performance, best trigger, aftermarket not needed, best ergonomics for my hand, 6 to 8-rd mags available, and its uniqueness in looks, etc.
I've been waiting for a ".22" guy to do a review on this so I can make up my mind whether or not to purchase one... Now I'm good to go.. Thanks!
It's absolutely my favorite 22lr pistol. Changed out the recoil spring, trigger, and mag release button. Shoots like a champ.

Picked one up today. Range trip in two days. :D
Likes:
1) Noticeably incredibly light.
Cons:
1) ALMOST need to adjust my grip to detach the magazine with my shooting thumb.
I was impressed with my Taurus G2c, I'm getting one of these tomorrow. Great review 22!

Thanks for sharing!!
Tim at MAC unboxed one, it comes with the plastic over the mag thing that helps you load. Just FYI.
Love my tx22. I was hitting metal at 100yds uphill. Very accurate pistol. And I think Lakeline has some good upgrades.
So value your balanced and honest opinion. Had a Taurus 9mm Slim. Sent it back for constant FTE issues. They checked the 2 mags, allegedly repaired it. Still same issue with all types of ammunition.
Finally gave it away with full warning.

Taurus has come a long way in the last few years. I absolutely love my 856 UL 38 spl. Most accurate handgun I own. At 30 yards it groups 4 inches on a paper plate. I could hit a nose eye mouth or forehead at 30 yards easy.

I believe the sights are upgradable with the same sights as a Taurus G2/G2C/G2S. Lakeline LLC has some nice options.
Had a G2c now a G3X. Both were flawless. TX22 doesn’t suprise me at all. Great review as always.
Looks like a great pistol maybe I’ll add one alongside my sr22 and converted glock 22lr.
Finally a gun I can mount pineapples too. I must have it.
And apples😂
Love your channel. Your whole demeanor is just really easy to listen to. And your knowledge of firearms is vast.
Great video! I was waiting for your say so on it. Thank You.

I’ve never had a problem with Taurus revolvers, just understand you’re buying a cheaper product so don’t expect expensive quality.
I agree Taurus doesn't have the best track record. Go cuse
As usual- great HONEST reviews and awesome video. Generally this is my "go to" channel regarding anything .22 cal. related. Thank you sir.

I got a pt111 and pt140 and not even glock convinced me to change. Perhaps time to get one
Justice405 Same here. I love the ruger SR22 but I’ve always wanted more capacity in my 22 pistol. This is it!
700 rounds and still going flawlessly. Extremely impressed!!
just shot that couple days a go. there's nothing wrong with the sights. tightest grouping I ever shot.
Dang I’m really starting to like Taurus the g2c and this tx22 are definitely gonna be my first carry guns
Please don't put yourself at a disadvantage by carrying a rimfire pistol...
My buddy has one 👌 got to shoot it last weekend and it was a pretty damn fun gun.
The new federal punch 22 ammo is nickle coated everything bullet included suppossedly optimized for self defense from reveiws ive seen it seems to get very good penetration
after you load 5 magazines you’ll get the technique down. its easy. loads in under 15seconds
Excellent video. Finally got my TX-22. Not only did it come with the 2 mags, it also came with a speed loader to make loading very easy.
I just picked one up for $259, on June 6, 2020.
