I haven’t tried it yet, this was really a nice review! I do hope to see the calendar but this covered so many aspects and I like how you explained the effect of all those settings. I will get more out of the trial now!
That intro barrier that you mentioned was enough to turn me off and lose patience with the setup. I needed to see how well the tool was going to work for me, not be psychoanalyzed beforehand.
It's part of the Sunsama onboarding experience which cannot be skipped (at least, not when I recorded it). That is why this part is included in the video. You can use time stamps to skip ahead to any parts of the video that aren't helpful.
@@LucasPrigge Sorry for any misunderstanding. I wasn't referring to your video, but to my own experience when I ws trying to give Sunsama a test run. That stuff at the beginning turned me off from using it altogether. But I watched your video all the way though.
Oh, I see! My bad. 😅 Yeah, it's a high barrier to entry. Too high, imo. It should have a skip option at least for folks that want to just tinker around and set things up for themselves.
The idea with Sunsama is that every single task gets a time associated with it. It is not the same as regular productivity apps that can have time-agnostic to-do lists.
@@LucasPrigge I have so many tasks with no specific time, I’d like to keep them somewhere organized until they are ready to get a time. SUNSAMA seems interesting for that part, but then it really seems to require another piece of software for the first part?
@@erbartlettI use Sunsama with Trello. Sunsama’s Backlog acts as the container for the bajillion ideas / tasks / other distractions that occur daily, while Trello provides a more granular way to organize that stuff at the end of the day (I have lists there such as This Week, Next Week, This Month, Next Month, Longer Term, Someday, Needs Developing, etc.). Both apps have unique strengths, and they work so well together, for me.
So they’ve clearly changed this initial form - glad I didn’t come across it when I launched my trial, I think it would have put me off. Great app though, I found the UI so intuitive that I haven’t even needed to go through the user guides so far. Plus, we try my productivity workflow I found this to be a great way to synthesise the different systems so I could focus on what needs doing. Price is a bit steep nonetheless.
I’ve used both - Motion for a year+, Sunsama going on nearly a month now. Hands down, Sunsama is the better product for me - I’m so easily distracted, with multiple competing priorities across several areas of focus. Sunsama has a very clean, clutter-free interface that allows me to switch from a “big picture” view to a narrowly focused one, effortlessly. Price-wise, they’re similar (i.e., both on the high end for productivity apps), but at $.53 a day, it’s a bargain. I use it with the Trello integration (as well as Gmail and Google calendar). Super short learning curve, too. 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Lucas. I think that you have missed some important points. You should show how it works with calendar and task manager. Without those adds this software is not very useful.
It works GREAT with Google Calendar. I don't know about Outlook. I loved how easy the integration with my calendar was. It also was super easy to integrate with my Asana.

Such a helpful tutorial. Thank you.
Keyboard shortcuts are v important to be fast. Very noticeable.

How does Sunsama compare to Motion?
Haven't looked at Motion yet, wil review it soon!

Sorted3 with Trello cards?)

Thanks for the feedback. That's really helpful. I'll be sure to showcase it in a part 2 video in the future. 👍

thank you so much
