Microsoft To Do vs Google Tasks (Full Comparison Review)
Hi, would like to see a timeline/roadmap please for A) a full, thick Windows app, (so it can be used offline, i.e. on an airplane), B) an android app C) full, bi-directional sync between the two, D) full support for GTD context/categories for tasks and calendar items, with filtering/views, and synced between Windows and android apps, and E) integrated calendar and task views. Thanks!
Funny enough I looked up this video so I could create a habit to track my calisthenics workout hahah
Hello, thank you for this great video! 1 Question please, is it possible to make the habit shown in the calendar view with the recurrence? Otherwise I would need to create a task similar to the habit, because I organize my calendar with time blocking.
Your video goes great with "extreme ways" by moby
Спасибо за обзор! Подскажите, как добавить человека в бесплатной версии?
You can make a Work area of focus then put each client in its own project beneath it. I think you overlooked or misunderstood. Unless I misunderstood what you meant.
Excellent questions 🎉
Thanks for the idea of the sheet template. I couldn't figure out how to do it better for myself. You suggested it. ❤
Hi Lucas, Any calendar view in your backlog ? I feel like it is a missing feature in many productivity apps, according to you which one provides a decent view ? Thank you and keep up the good work !
OMG, I love when humor is injected unexpectedly and subtly! Fantastic tutorial!
Thanks for the thought put behind quantifying this concept. Helped me a lot 🙏
Hi Lucas I have done the 5 tutorials and set things up as instructed. I have dumped my brain and have a long list of items in the inbox. One is "Sell stuff on eBay". I am now stuck - how do I convert this task into a Project? I can go to PROJECTS and click 'add list', then type out "Sell stuff on eBay" again, but surely there is a better way than that?
Hi Lucas, its very simple and effectively u explained, please can u make video on Yes or No guide for better decisions. I believe u explain it in ao simplistic sense with examples its very easy to understand and apply from your explanation.
Amazing job, congrats Lucas!
App name 2080, UI from 2007
Those were the days! Jokes aside, I agree the UI's design is a bit shitty. I'll prioritize improving it. Thanks so much for your feedback.
Thanks Lucas for Your videos, I've just finished the GTD book and I struggle to choose the right tool. I know that it is more about mindset than the tools, but Your videos are super helpful to choose the right one (I'm going to view a few more to find out what works the best for me).
Wow finally almost there. loved it.
Interesting idea for a tool, but the workflow feels quite forced, less so than with other tools, but it's far from flexible enough. Most of the assigning, grouping, and dependencies are likely much more usable when they become drag and drop. (the configuring felt quite a bit like Jira, and other more clunky planning tools) Furthermore, I’m not a fan of tools in a web browser, as it's one of the more distracting places on a computer. I like the business model from Obsidian very much, offline, with a paid upgrade for synchronization.
Really appreciate your feedback. I definitely don't want 2080 to remain web-only. The engine we've built it on will support native mobile apps very soon though. Until then, I'll prioritize a UI revamp as this has been the most criticized and I'll take your suggestions into account with that. Thank you!
Hola Lucas. Me alegra ver el lanzamiento de tú app 2080. La probaré más adelante porque, aún cuando su precio es accesible, 3 días de prueba gratuita no son compatibles con mi plan de trabajo diario y semanal.
Thank you Carlos! I'll mull this over. Typically I've seen software trial decisions being made within the first 48 hours, hence the 3 days to really push for making a decision. But I see your point on having a weekly workflow and wanting to test that out as well.
What's the #1 feature you'd like to see added to 2080? Comment below 👇
This video blew my mind. Thanks man!
Thanks Lucas
😅😮😢😢
Good to see you back !
Interesting concept. It would be great I think if there would be a possibility to copy a table from my notion database having context and other parameters available, and it could help out filling the missing information in and decide what could be the best way forward using already existing information. Anyway thanks, looks like a nice tool to play with.
You could just try doing that. Tables from Notion don't copy over nicely but ChatGPT tends to understand them regardless and will likely produce a proper table in a response.
Why not just use start date for marking next actions?
Tasks with start dates imply that time needs to pass before it becomes something you can do, meaning it's not a "next" action but a "scheduled" action. On the other hand, not every action without a start date is a next action, as it may be blocked by another task that needs to be completed first. That's where the "next" tag comes in - it adds the missing piece to label tasks that can be done now, with no time or other tasks blocking it from being worked on.
@@LucasPrigge I've tried using next action tag but it didn't work for me. I prefer to have next_actions list and move tasks from (or create based upon) areas of focus or projects into next actions list (kind of a backlog). This allows me to treat areas and projects as checklists or project support materials instead of future actions plan. It's more in line with what GTD source book suggests. But with things, I can just set a start date for **today**. Done, it's going to be displayed in my today view (and tomorrow and day afetr ...). If I need to do something on given date things have deadline, but I would use callendar anyway. For me, start date is date when task can be started, so if it is set to today, it means the same as next action. If there is start day set in future it mean I don't care for it now. If there is no start date, it's not next action at all. I'm not going to set start date I I'm unsure it will be doable at that date. If it is blocked by other task, why even bother setting start date? Now, I think it boils down to an agreement you make with yourself. And agreements can be renegotiated. I.e. If I'm using todoist, I can't use start date, todoist have no start date yet and any overdue date is displayed in red ;/ But switching to things, I do not need to follow the same scheme I was using in todoist.
@@LucasPrigge If start date is today, no time need to pass. Things has a start date and a deadline date. If one thinks of a start date as a `do date`, sure he may need a label.
love it! thank you, this is awesome.
Good to hear from you. It’s been a while my friend
guagliò grazie! this is really interesting and would like to replicate so badly. The only thing that stops me is that I have sooo many info already scattered across Google keep, trello and one note. Have to find a way to move all of the to this system
I was wondering how you deal with the saved searches currently as it is not working exactly in Asana like you showed in the video
Rock on, Lucas! Rock on! I'm currently taking your AMAZING paid course and I can't get Tic Tick out of my mind (in a good way). Your course is so great that TickTick should thank you because their website is not as helpful! Thank to your game-changing course! With sincerest grateful and delight, this is for is you, (and all). Enjoy: ruclips.net/video/xp8_5NwVo_Y/видео.html
I know this is from 3 years ago but it's the only video so far that made me want to try ClickUp for GTD (over ticktick). Trying to use on my own I found that there's too many things...I was getting lost on my learning process
Very Clear, Very Helpful. I understand the Apple Notes as well.
Things 3
Hey - what are you thoughts on this? As a mom to two kids, it gets overwhelming to just complete tasks and race against time. We see people using tonnes of productivity apps and it stems from our need to optimize time better and better. 4000 week by Oliver Burkeman says that we cannot truly ever finish everything on our plate. People try notes, printouts of school schedules, shared calendars, whatsapp, post its and more but it just felt more fragmented. What helped me was to start with priorities - block time for gym, reading, social media, work, kids bed-time, start a new habit, work focus time, 1 client presentation, coffee with mom every 2 weeks, etc then architect tasks around it - like rocks, pebbles and sand. Designing your life around your priorities helps you make calendar an execution tool and not get dictated by lists and tasks. Notes and calendaring + reminders in one place is pretty effective. By the way - to solve this, we are building fhynix and would love for folks to try it
We need more people like you on the planet, sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SALUTE!
MS TO DO Fan Here
doesn't seem to be working
I would use this if the chart showed daily, weekly , monthly data - which I understand that it doesn't. I'm using Habitify instead for this - which I do find to be a clunky app but at least it shows Day-Week-Month chart data
Thanks for the video! However, I'd love to know more about using the "Include Keyword" feature in advanced filters, especially when I need to include 2-3 keywords. Could you provide some guidance on that?
do you offer consulting services?
what is the best video to learn how to manage a project with multiple people on Tick tick! Maybe its in your course. Thank you for your content, super valuable !
Amen
I really like the way you approach from the perspective of users, and helping people to make a right decision right from the beggining of their jorney with the app. I would give you more than one thumbs up for your work)
I have duplicated my habits how do you delete 200 of them all at once ?
goat
But no tables
What a fantastic, fantASTIC, FANTASTIC tutorial! 🔥 The Amplenote team should hire you to make a dedicated tutorial series. Thank you, Lucas. I don't use the GTD methodology, but still learned a bunch from this video. I've watched it multiple times. Great work. Thank you. 🙂
So good!
