    ONE VERY BASIC AND SIMPLE FUNCTIONALITY THEY MISS IS "DYNAMIC SEARCH WHILE ADDING THE TASK" I DON'T KNOW IF THE TASK I AM ENTERING NOW IS ALREADY THERE AT SOME POINT.

    Personally the biggest frustration I have with TickTick is the inability to create events with a location in the calendar, instead of having to create a task

    • @Yipper64
      @Yipper64 Год назад

      same here! I sent a suggestion to them, if they just gave notes a duration and repeat functionality, since you can already assign notes with a date, that would be perfect! But no...

      I guess you could just do that in Google calender then have that show in your Tick Tick? Not perfect, obviously

    • @TheZippyMark
      @TheZippyMark 6 месяцев назад

      Personally that's OK for me, as I use Google calender in tandem, because it's just better recognised by other platforms, I.e. you can put something straight onto your Google calendar from Facebook/Dice etc

    Never commented on a RUclips video before but I just had to as this is something I have been pressing them about for a while now. I have no clue why the team behind tick tick hasn't put any effort in redesigning their app. Its 2023 and honestly as you said the app's design is so back in the days. I just wish for once they would listen cause believe me its not really about resources or funding as there are super enthusiasts out there who would create a redesign for them for absolutely free if it means seeing them implement it
    Anyways great video man and hopefully someday Tick Tick does a redesign or another developer comes out with a super clean version of a task management app with similar features

      I think most people who use the app like it's simplicity despite it's massive functionality. The design maybe old but it sure is minimalistic rather than an overcluttered app.

    3:50 I think they did add this functionality at some point, its called "sub tasks"
    and those can go as deep as you like.

    • @LucasPrigge
      @LucasPrigge  Год назад

      That is true and sub tasks are a useful feature, but I'm referring to lists specifically.

    One thing I'm missing with TickTick is the ability to customize repetitions even more. Being able to set them at set periods after completion is not enough, I wish I could set a bit more complex patterns, such as 2 days on, 1 day off, etc.

    • @LucasPrigge
      @LucasPrigge  Год назад +4

      Hi Simona, you can actually do this in Ticktick. Go to a task > Repeat > Custom > Select the days of the week you'd like

    The nested list issue is the biggest disappointment with TickTick. I hope they change that.

    Hi @lucas ! Another great TickTick video.
    I'm also an avid user and chose it over todoist 5 years ago.
    HOWEVER, I 100% agree on points 3&4, and hence my question to you is - why stick with Ticktick? I know about all the good stuff, but isn't the lack of freedom in nesting lists and linking to sections, a HUGE drawback that impact your productivity?... As you mentioned. Not enough to switch back?
    I found a certain solution by treating the folders and lists in Ticktick as just containers/database of "content", and actually working mainly with smart filers and tags.
    Unlike folders, tags can be sorted and associated by, and can be nested. Once you're inside a certain tag, any created item gets that tag automatically.
    As you mentioned briefly, I also created a seperate list of Next Items for single tasks, and another one for projects-tasks.
    A smart filter of I titled "Nexts", has the items from both those lists combined together.
    I'm currentyl trying to recreate the functionality of the app Doit.im, which I used for several years and recently announced a return to action and updates. It has a very unique and useful workflow with a set of rules that are more true to the actual GTD mindset, compared to just generic task managers with endless options. It has a set of rules that guides the process, and I'm about to recreate a very similar methodology of processing items in Ticktick, via smart filters and tags.
    But, it's kinda awkward.... 😅
    Thanks to this video of yours I now can see how the multiple nested lists in Todoist could be a much better option for recreating the clever Doit.im structure.
    I hope you'll manage to get through this loooong comment and hopefuly reply when you have the time :) ✌️

      Hey Tom, thanks for sharing your experience! It's definitely a put-off, but it hasn't been problematic enough to return to Todoist just yet. Instead, I'm exploring other options (including building my own application).
