I just repowered my boat and went with a df 140 b Suzuki and love it. I had a 2 stroke 150 merc on it.There’s a marine shop right down the road from my house and he’s a merc technician and has been racing merc’S for 53 years now. It’s kinda funny but he said to stay away from merc and go with Suzuki.
I love mine as well brother!
Here in argentina since 1976 we learned Suzuki was best outboard by far
Yes sir, thanks for your comment!
Great review with actual information listing technical pros and cons.
Thanks brother!
Thanks for the infor... I just went to Furlan's and bought a new 90 for my Carolina Skiff. This past week I heard you coming down Bayou Cumbest while I was trout fishing in the dark early in the morning. The Suzuki motor has a cool low roar to it as you were coming down the bayou with your yellow lights on! See you on the water soon!
Lol! Definitely brother, give me a holler next time you see me! Congratulations on the new Zuk!
100 hours on my 150 so far. Agree with everything you said.
Almost at 200 brother!
I love Corossion X as well but be careful with it, it can damage plastic.
I’ve had it warp some plastics on my truck.
🐸✝️ Jody God bless you and your family ✝️ Thank You for detailed information on the Outbound ✝️
Yes sir, thanks!
Great video CAPTAIN!!!
Thanks brother!
Interesting on reduction box.
Will say best motor is one you have local supported for. Where I'm at there is one Suzy dealer and one Honda dealer and One tohatsu all are 2 hour drive away. The Yamaha and mercury shops are 30 mins to nearest one and there a dozen of them.
Won't go near or touch the Parsons
Odd, I believe the Parsun is a Yamaha, either through licensing or direct cloning.
@@percussion44 if Parsons licensed from Yamaha I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell
Ill take a Japanese Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki over any American/Chinese/European made outboards anyday!
Yes sir!
i have 70 hours on my 200 suzuki its been great just did the op 60 oil change i flush with salt away allways and wipe the engine down with yamalube
I picked up a 1999 McKee that they'd repowered with a 2021 Suzuki 140. The owners had sunk the motor by flipping the boat when tubing and catching a pilon with the rope... They alleged they'd same-day flushed the fluids and fogged the cylinders but then let it sit for a year, lost the key, and the batteries were dead. Since they were in a hurry to sell, as they were moving out of state, I picked it up for what I thought the hull and trailer were worth. I took it home, replaced the relays for the trim as they were corroded and shot, and replaced the plugs, fluids and water pump... thing purrs like a kitten and everything works as it should. Has made me a Suzuki fan... The helm was corroded stiff, but there's no corrosion on the motor.
HECK YEAH! That's awesome! They are some tough motors for sure!
I’m sold
I’m definitely glad I chose Suzuki. It’s been flawless!
That SC 1 looks like some good stuff. Do you buy it locally (Mobile area) or do you order it online? Great video!!
Thanks! Any atv dealer or on Amazon
Better than Mercury Marine. The "number one on the water" company that lost it's way marketing nice looking junk.
No warranty on zuki lower unit bearing
Yeah, I'd need to see some numbers how a 200hp Suzi is 2x the fuel efficiency of a 150 Honda.
The Sz is a 2L I4 and the Honda is a 2.3L I4. The honda revs to 5500 and the Suz to 6100.
Where I live the Honda 150 is 7000 dollars less than a 200Hp Suzuki. That's roughly 1750 gallons of gas.
I'm glad you like your new engine, but let's not make dubious statements. The Suzuki is a good motor from a good brand, and the extra 50 ponies may be important for the work you do. My boat is a 19' searay BR pushed by a 2.7L V6 black max, she goes into the 50+ mph. The 200 or 300 bucks of gas I use in a year is inconsequential compared to the price of a repower.
My 200 Suzuki is almost twice as fuel efficient as my Honda 150 was. I run charter trips with a fully loaded boat and my 150 was under powered for my needs, hence the more fuel it needed. It was also an older 150 so probably not as fuel efficient? I can promise you one thing, I’m not going to mislead anyone. Only stating the facts though my experience
Nice engine
Man, good video but i gotta say 4 strokes have way more low end torque......ive had a 300x and a 300r and they run the same on top but the 300r has a ton of torque. Probably twice as much on the low end
Truth. 2-strokes are lighter weight and known for top end HP and RPM.
How many hours do you have now?
Around 250.
I’m rebuilding a flat bottom 19’ boat that came out of the marsh.
It is all 3/16 pl. the boat dry weight is 1,400 without motor. I’m about to start redoing the bottom paint and was wondering if your boat has anything on the bottom to help it bite the water?
This boat has 3’ of 2” Angle on each back corner.
The front 90% is just flat as plywood. Nothing to bite the water.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Yes. I have 4 pieces of 2” angle (v-down) 8 foot long under mine
Hello from Naples italy. i got a 900 kg rib 7 m with e ficht ram 2002 175 hp 185 kg weight.
Want to repower with suzuki 200 wich model u suggest me?
Thank u
My 4-cylinder 200 fly by wire with digital gauges has been flawless! Plenty of torque and great fuel economy! Thanks for commenting from across the great pond, lol!
Возьми лучше ямаху вф150 шо в-макс. Затем замени на нëм эбу ( электронный блок управления), либо перепрошей его, от 200 лошадиных сил. И будешь гонять на 200 силах. Привет из России!
Even with flushing your motor for 15 minutes every time you are out, running in salt water is eventually going to RUIN your beautiful engine, eating the cylinder head alive. My first Suzuki was the 26th one made on the first day of production in 1999. It is/was a DF40. In 212.9 hours it corroded through the cylinder head on #2 cylinder. A new head was $1,800 and I went 12 years before finding a used one on the internet for $250. I have just put the head on that motor and I am almost ready to fire it up since 2010 when I found the deal of a lifetime on a brand new Suzuki DF50 I could not pass up. That brand new engine is waiting in the crate to be mounted on my old 1999 boat. I am now remarried and moved to a beautiful house on a good sized fresh water lake. You can bet my new motor will NEVER see salt water. May I suggest that you one at a time remove and reinstall all the sacrificial anode holding bolts and the six bolts holding the lower unit on and coat all the threads with Neversieze compound. You won't be sorry later when it is time to change the waterpump impeller and the sacrificial anodes.....Big Al
First of all, you need to watch my maintenance videos. Second of all, my last saltwater motor was 14 years old and sold it still running great!
What's upppp!
Hey brother!
