    I’ve only been using CPAP with The P10 nasal pillow for about two weeks. The first week was rough because it really irritated under my nose to the point where it was painful just putting it in my nose. But I put Aloe Vera gel on it every day, and now I don’t have any irritation at all and I love this mask, it’s great.

      That is great to here that you continued and found how it was right for you!! A lot of patients give up. I would also have recommended trying one size bigger for the pillows. There should be a little lip around the nostril, usually when to small that it where the irritation comes in. Let us know if anything needed.

    I changed to a P10 on my own and I'm at 14 pressure. Works fine for me. I struggled with very dry eyes with N20. Side sleeper and could not keep a good fit through the night. Also cut my long hair to help manage the fit. Not ideal solution but you do what you have to do.

      Yes, that mask is hard to get used to especially at a pressure that high. But it is great to eliminate leakage for sure as there is no seal. I am sorry about the hair but yes sleep is needed, LOL! Thanks for sharing, let us know if anything is needed we will be happy to help.

    I just started CPAP therapy. I selected the P10. Last night was my second night. The first night was rough. Only got 4.5 hours of very restless sleep. Last night was a little better better with 5.5 hours. I had to remove it around 3:15am. The problem I'm having with it is the irritation around my nostrils. It's pretty painful. Kind of like when you have a cold and you've wiped your nose raw. I'm considering switching to a full mask as soon as today. It's Friday so I don't want to go through the weekend with the P10. Other than the irritation, it seems to work ok.

      Hi,
      Thank you so much for reaching out! I would not do that, if you had an issue with breathing through the nose that's different. It is the only time I would go from a pillow mask to a full or any nasal type mask to a full for that matter. The issue is your are using the wrong size pillow. Try a size larger the pillow should be up against the outside of the nostril, a lot of patient try to match the size of there nostril causing it to irritate the nostril. Let me know how that worked, I am almost positive that is the issue. I have helped many patient's with the exact issue over the years.

      @@Sleeplayground Thank you so much for the quick reply! Well, I wasn't able to get in today to switch devices so I will try the larger pillows. They fitted me with the medium but said I could possibly go with the small. So the first night I started with the small and switched to the medium in the middle of the night. Last night I stayed with the medium. Still not good. I'll try the size large tonight. Would it be helpful to use Vaseline or Aquaphor ointment on my nose?

    I used to love this when my hair was short. But now that my hair is longer the mask slides right off my head. My hair is silky, and I don’t have much of an occipital bump to hold the bottom strap in place.

      Hi,
      Thanks for reaching out! Yeah I have heard that for so many years. I would of hoped the fact you can tighten now would of helped. But it has not, unfortunately! Maye try another option of pillows. Such as the P30i or I have had patient's bobby pin, clip or pony tail to help hold there hair so it didn't rise up or come off. Not sure how comfortable that would be though. This is an interesting link of others who had similar issues that may help as well.

    I had used these masks for years. They used to have problem with the elastic stretching to the point where they needed to be replaced. ResMed "improved" the design with an adjustable strap. Good idea, lousy implementation. I have now had three units fail (just out of their 30-day warranty) where the elastic joins the plastic adjuster. One unit fail after only 4 night's use. This used to be a great product, now it is a total waste of money.

    It's been 10 nights with my new ResMed CPAP machine and P10 nose pillows. Still very uncomfortable. The pillows are being crushed into my nose and it's painful. When I loosen the strap, the air leaks. I have tried all three different size pillows. I'm constantly having to reposition the P10 on my nose. What am I doing wrong? Yes, I am a new CPAP user.

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  Год назад +1

      Yes, absolutely the nasal pillows are a hard mask to start with. I would try a N20 mask or a any nasal mask that covers the nose. But the P10 should not be leaking from the actual cushion most of the leakage especially with that mask is from the mouth. I would suggest the pillow is the wrong size. The lip of the pillow needs to have a space around the nostril for cushion and comfort and too avoid leakage. A lot of patients fit to the pillows to the exact size of nostril, causing a lot of irritation. In order to succeed with nay mask it does take 2 to 3 weeks if not the whole month to get used to or find the right mask.

    this company is a joke.this mask I was told I could remove the p 10 mask and refit it to a full face mask which I requested from the begining , can't remove mask from the tubing at all. sleepmed is a far better company.

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  5 месяцев назад

      I apologize for any trouble the mask may have caused. Every mask no matter what it is can be removed from the 6 ft tubing. I usually recommend instead of pulling the tubing straight away from the mask to bend like your breaking off. It comes off easier that way. I am not sure what we have done because the mask can not be removed but anything I can do to help, I would be happy to for sure. My name is James and my number is 844-451-6555 extension 005

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  Год назад +1

      Hi,
      Thanks for reaching out! Yes, the P10 pillows are the hardest to get used to but the least on the face. The reason is because there is not a seal around the mouth and nose or just the nose. It is directly in your nose making it a little more difficult. You may have an EPR on your machine which is an Expiratory Pressure Relief which makes the exhale pressure softer without compromising your therapy. Let me know the machine you have maybe I can assist with that. Other than that it is just a latter of getting used I promise if you practice even during the day napping, sitting on coach watching TV maybe watching a movie and dozing off. The more you do the easier it is!

      Hi,
      Thanks for reaching out! The sizing tool should be on the right of the head., I am pretty sure. The letter size on the cushion should be facing down when putting the mask, on a lot of patient's put on upside down. I usually just recommend for years that if needed to use the bathroom or water in the middle of the night. Instead of taking off any mask and putting back on because it does get confusing or patient's just do not want to put back on. I tell all patient's leave the mask on the bend where the rubber tubing connects to the mask at the end of the one foot mask tube and disconnect. Go to bathroom or whatever and come back to bed connect and go sleep.
