I tried it for a week and while it's comfortable it has a much higher leak rate compared to the F&P Evora Full face. Also it irritated my nose. In addition I had a much harder time breathing with it. The swivel is nice.
Understood, you are correct the F&P mask have always been great for holding higher pressures, without leakage. The irritation I am not sure of maybe it was not fit properly too tight or too small. That may have caused the difficulty breathing as well through the ports.
I have tried this and the evora both hurt my nose. The air leak on this one is so much higher but i believe my medical supply place may have given me head gear and mask that are too big as i was not sized for it.
I have this mask, and it is very comfortable, as well as quiet. and my only issue is that I have a floating septum because of an accident and the little part separating the nose holes was basically crushing that part flat. so when I got replacements, I experimented with the mask I am currently using and carefully snipped out that little strip in the middle. that made it so much more comfortable for me, and I was able to get a better seal because of not having the pressure there.
I have to say I have been using the F30i for about 9 months and I just upgraded to the F40. This is amazing!! Such a game changer, my leaks are very minimal. It fell very comfortable. This mask is way better than having that plastic kudos to resmed for this new revision of mask😊😊😊
I really wanted this F40 to work for me. Unfortunately, it doesn't. I'm a 5 month user of CPAP now, and have been using the F&P Vitera (full face), with great results... the F40 irritated the skin under my nose and didn't seem to seal properly (although my reported mask seal was perfect), and woke me often. I tried both Large and Mediums, but it didn't matter. Back to the Vitera...I'm pretty disappointed. Meanwhile, I really appreciate your presentations, reviews, and tips. Thanks for your help!
I haven't used this mask 11:30 😮 for quite a while. And I'm getting real good night sleep the f40 is a winner in my book. And also I've been using the V-Con.
I currently have the F&P solo and wear with a Chin strap. The solo is great apart from the lack of diffuser and I always feel like I’m pulling the headgear away from the edge of my eye area…..maybe this would fix both problems though have never gone full face before.
I want to switch to this mask..the mask I have now is a resmed mirage activa. The regular hose connects directly to the mask. I don’t really like the smaller hose that connects to the regular hose.
There is one key piece of info that you shared that I felt was very important. I am petite. I wear glasses and have shopped the children's department to get the best fit. Yet with this mask, I need to buy the small headgear separately if I need the small cushion. I'm wondering how my insurance will cover this. Not the answer I wanted to see but now I know what question to ask.
It seems that this mask with magnets was engineered better for those with Cochlear implants because the magnets were placed on front of the mask making magnets 9”+ away from implant! Hopefully the magnet strength was not increased compared to nasal magnets.
I've been using the F20 but it's starting to irritate my nose. I decided to try the Evora, it was way too tiny and uncomfortable. I ordered the F40, I am hopeful, though I know it will be hard to switch from the F20. Another issue I have is I have a broken tooth that my mask seems to seat right over.
Since the F40 doesnt touch the bridge of your nose you shouldnt have any more irritation. Since the F40 also covers your entire mouth, the broken tooth should be encapsulated in the mask.
I've been using the Evora since it doesn't have that vertical septal silicone piece at the nose opening, I've tried several others, but that vertical septal piece causes too much irritation on my noise. Can that septal piece be cut off without affecting the mask that much?
I’m starting CPAP, i tried the Evora first - fantastic! Except for a few nights when woke feeling punched in side of cheek. Straps weren’t tight and worked well some nights, not others. Trying the F40 now, do notice nose pressure more, may have to try small wide. Anyone know what either of these masks are like for sinus problems? Which i have, and nervous about.
Hello, I just started using this CPAP mask and machine last night and I’m confused. How am I supposed to breathe with this on? I can breathe fine through my nose but I noticed sometimes I would wake up and my mouth would be slightly open and the air puffing out my lips and cheeks. What am I doing wrong?
Why can't they create a small full face mask with the soft material on the Air Touch F20? I hate the top point of the regular full face mask but the plastic on the F30 causes my face to break out.
Yes, the full face mask tend to leak a little more. However that is simply a matter of adjustment maybe make looser or just pull away from the fac and readjust. It will not be an air tight seal all through the night unless you stay still. Sometimes it may.
I would try the N20 without the chinstrap and practice for a week or two. You may be able to get used to it and still get the benefit. If not yes you would switch to a full face mask.
I've never understood why anyone would read or watch TV with their cpap mask on. It's for sleeping. If I read or watch TV in bed, I put my mask on when I lie down to sleep.
Hi, Yes, I would say the reason is if they are prone to dozing off to put on before they fall asleep. Same goes for in the bed instead of forgetting or waiting until they are super tired then putting it on.
there is nothing best about the F40 mask. even on this channel i could hear the statement that the mask is very good for people who turn from one side to the other during sleep. this is not true at all. it leaks immediately! for me it is another failure of the ResMed company and has the highest price of all masks!!!
I feel the same about the F30i. I really liked the dreamwear nasal cradle, so I thought I would like this mask as well. Boy was I wrong! I couldn't breathe properly with that thing on. I'm now wearing a quattro air and it's so good!
You are a good example of how people spread false information for money. Yes, I believed you and bought this mask for a lot of money. Why did I do this? I have been sleeping with my beloved “Mirage Quattro” mask for over 15 years without a single problem. ResMed stopped selling them in my country some time ago. Spare parts are also becoming scarce at the dealers. So I thought I would try sleeping with an F40. I haven't had inflamed eyes for ever. I also slept a maximum of 1.5 hours at a time. After that I was regularly woken up by coughing. Btw: my AIH went from average 1,5 up over 7!!! And that's only because the mask leaks very easy! (Don’t tell me about adjustment. Even my health care center could not help me!) You should be ashamed of yourself for misinforming those affected!!!
I am sorry that you had to experience that. Please take into account that not all CPAP masks work for everyone, but that doesn't mean that the information available about the mask is misinformation. Again, I am sorry you had a terrible experience with the F40 mask.

Wow, if that worked for you we are glad to hear. Thank you for sharing.
I've had the same problem with that septal piece, that's why I went to the Evora, but I might be temped to try the F40 and cut that piece out.

When are you going to do the Rio ll full face mask

Where can I get or print the 'size guide'?

Hi there. I’m getting my first cochlear next year. So this mask won’t bother the magnet of the cochlear then?

can you buy and use different sized silicon cushions to fit the headgear size you have?
Yes, there are different cushion option that fit the same frame.

So far, for every mask I've used, I've needed a large sized headgear. My hat size is 7 5/8. What sixe headgear would you recommend for me??
I would say the same to be safe.
Very similar experience and have ultimately landed on the Regular. As the headgear stretches, I found that I was losing runway on the top straps.
Thanks mate from an Aussie in the US

Is Resmed developing a F40i version?
Finally got my F40 mask and you are correct, it’s the best fitting mask I have used.
Is there an online size chart so that before I order I know which one?
Hello, the size guide will be located here under "fitting guide": support.resmed.com/en-us/masks/airfit-f40/

Hope you enjoy it!
I dont get it, mine is so loud? The vents in front blow so hard, I cant sleep.
I feel smothered with this
What's going on with this video, Nick? Why is there music over the unboxing section where you're clearing demonstrating things?
Do I change the setting to pillows with the F40?
No that would be a full face.
Is the headgear for the F40 the same as the F20?
No, they are not.
Just got this last week but it seems the seal breaks often.

@@Sleeplayground NO its a misconstruct of ResMed and costs way more then other masks!
Does it work with the bipap.
Yes, the F40 mask with any form of PAP therapy.
Should I go from an N20 medium to this mask? I'd like to not wear a chin strap to keep my mouth shut. And is the f40 good with the beard?
I would try the N20 without the chinstrap and practice for a week or two. You may be able to get used to it and still get the benefit. If not yes you would switch to a full face mask.
dont use it!

Hi,
Yes, I would say the reason is if they are prone to dozing off to put on before they fall asleep. Same goes for in the bed instead of forgetting or waiting until they are super tired then putting it on.
I use my CPAP right when I hop into bed sometimes it takes me over an hour to fall asleep.
Is it ok to have your mouth open with the F40 mask ???
Thanks for reaching out! Yes, that is exactly what the full face mask are made for.
Don’t think it will convert me from my extremely comfortable F20 AirTouch.

CPAP masks are mainly user preference. Please keep in mind that what works for you may not work for everyone else.

hi
How are you!
Is it good for big dudes with big noses?
You are a good example of how people spread false information for money.
Yes, I believed you and bought this mask for a lot of money.
