I ordered the Resmed Airfit n30i nasal CPAP mask. I had been using the Res Mirage Swift II, which has the air hose connection on the front of the mask next to the nose. I love the Resmed Airfit N30i! I decided to try it out for a nap and did not wake up for six hours. I sleep on my stomach with my head on its side. I shift my head from side to side when I sleep. It was great not to have to wake up to shift the position of the airline every time I switched from side to side. I had my first solid uninterrupted restful sleep in years.

Thank you for all this information. I am waiting for my sleep study, so I am just gathering information. I have been diagnosed with OSA before, but fell through the cracks somehow ( probably was not approved by my insurance) and never received my CPAP.. i found out then that i can't use a full mask and neeI a nasal one. I now have had an increase in apnea attacks, so I'm waiting for the new sleep study.

I'M a new user. It's been just over a month. I'm fitted with the Dreamwear, pillow mask. I have a lot of issues with the back strap riding up my hair. I tried the ponytail fix like your wife (no luck). I flipped that farthest back starp upside down so it would lay closer to the base of my skull (some luck), and I tried hair pins to keep it from riding upwards (no luck). Plus, I have to put the extra material up at the junction wear the ear part meets the face part because my hair kept getting wound or pulled into that joint. I wish my Dreamwear had a strap like the baseball one. Great video.❤

I've used ALL of these - my favorite is the Phillips Dreamwear nasal cradle mask - it's the most comfortable, better for me than the Resmed N30i (cradle was too large between my nose and mouth and overall not comfortable). The N30 straps are flimsy and didn't really hold the nasal cradle in place. I just don't understand why Resmed couldn't make the Swift FX with a nasal cradle which would hold the nasal cradle in place. I made a hybrid mask with the N30 nasal cradle taped to the Swift FX mask, until I discovered the Dreamwear mask. Evora has some hard plastic on the sides of the cradle and the head frame was very hard - but a good try since it's easy to put on or take off - I really wanted this one to work. My only issue with the Dreamwear and N30i - my Airsense 10 machine is now making a whining noise - (probably the blower), is past warranty and my insurance won't replace it - the noise transfers through the tubing - so that is the only downside, dealing with machine noise. I still prefer the Dreamwear even with this noise. Appreciate your reviews!!

This was incredibly helpful. I just got Medicare this year and finally got a apnea home test and I definitely have apnea at 23 times. I guess that’s a lot. Anyway I am going to go have the vivAer septum RF procedure first as my surgery many years ago means a new surgery would be very invasive to redo my septum. The RF should correct some of the nasal breathing issues.
I have no idea if a bipap or cpap would be best for me yet.
This video helped me so much in understanding the nasal masks, as that’s what I’d like versus a full cpap. I’m a back and side sleeper but do not like the headgear as I have long hair.

Thanks for the great video, you covered a lot of ground. I started with the Resmed F20, then tried the P10. The fit was great with the medium pillow, but I felt like I had air starvation due to the small nasal holes The Larger pillow lets me breathe better, but It leaks more. Both tend to irritate my nose after a few days. I'm thinking I might need to try a nasal cushion with a larger air hole.

I've only used the N30i one night and have already concluded it is my favorite CPAP mask by far. I previously tried the AirTouch N20, F30i, and P30i, and there were things I didn't like about all of them. The N30i has none of those issues. It is a loaner mask from my health care provider and the cushion is not exactly the same as either the old version with the hard plastic or the new softer version. I assume it is what Resmed refers to as an SLM (Sleep Lab Mask) variant intended for multi-patient use, and is the soft version but without the diffuser in the exhalation vent, so it blows air straight out the front. I'm surprised to read that some people have trouble with leakage with the soft version of the cushion, because I had the lowest leakage I have ever had with a nasal or pillow mask - 0 L/Min - even though I slept on both my side and my back and didn't use a chinstrap or mouth tape to try to control my mouth breathing. It stayed in position the whole night and was very quiet, probably quieter than the regular version with the diffuser. The previous two nights, when I used the P30i, I had 13 L/min leakage, which is still considered acceptable but a lot higher than zero!

Regarding the hair issue you mentioned on the ResMed N30i, there's a simple fix for a woman. I just run my finger through my hair just above the back neoprene strap, like a hair dresser would use the tail of her comb to portion out sections of your hair. Once I flip the upper section over the strap, the headgear is going nowhere.

I love the Phillips dreamwear nasal cradle mask. It seals beautifully, weighs practically nothing and doesn't have that awkward elephant trunk tubing from the front. The first mask I got had a nasal cushion which irritated the inside of the nostrils. The tube stuck out from the front and ended up wrapped around my neck by morning. A really uncomfortable combination. I'll only go buy a mask now where the tube sits on top of my head and sticks down behind my pillow and then snakes out to my cpap machine. And the dreamwear doesn't have those irritating stuck up the nostrils buds.

I am interested in that last mask. Couple of things, I am a stomach sleeper with my face typically facing to my left, I also have a really bad deviated septum but it is right at the nasal entrance of my right nostril...so pillow masks never work. I currently use an AirFit F20 in medium but am interested in something that lets me stomach sleep easier without shoving a hard mask into my eyes or into the bridge of my nose. Great video! I started my therapy about 12 days ago with the P10. It has not been great to say the least. The pillows irritate my nostrils. It's kind of like when you have a cold and you've wiped your nose 500 times. I spoke with my provider about switching to something different. The N30 looks like a pretty good option. Do you know if the pillow and cradle are interchangeable with the head piece? Other trouble I'm having with the P10 is maintaining a good seal. It seems I have to constantly play with it during the night. Too tight and it's irritating, too loose and I don't get a good seal.

I would not like the hose at the front. Mine is the soft Silicone Phillips “Dream wear” one with the hose at the top and a Resmed Machine

@@CPAPmyway Which brand would be best. I don't mind hose in front? That isn't an issue for me. I use airfit pillows which worked very well until recently. Now I have lots of leaks.

@@myst9591 I would try the N30 or Evora in that case since they are most similar to what you are using.
