For real man I told some of my friends I dont like JJK and they were all taken aback and shit. I wasn't even just hating I had actually issues with the pacing and how characters got discarded before being fully fleshed out in S2. Like this may not be a popular opinion but I thought Hanami was the most interesting of the special grade curses because she was essentially following nature's wishes and it had me wondering, "Whoa is she misinterpreting nature or does the JJK world actually want humans gone" it seemed like it could set up some really interesting lore but she just dies to Gojo. I know it makes sense but it felt really boring the same with the Zenin clan head's death right when we just see his power.
Don’t feel crazy for not liking the popular shit. (Even tho I think Jjk is great) everyone doesn’t enjoy the same stuff. And every show can be improved on.

JJK has a lot of wasted potential for sure, but I think it's better to criticize what's actually there than the missed potential or themes
Honestly the only reason I still stick with jjk is the curses and side characters

I’ve read ahead in the manga and I know it does not get better, only worse from here as well
The ones I do find interesting or at least investing are side characters like miwa and todo and the curses except they’re all either pushed out the story or DEAD eventually

I aint gonna lie you be making a lot of points but I would expand this type of copying to just about any lingo that gets minorly popular in this community. One person uses the word fraud, now everybody gonna describe someone losing as a fraud. Someone describes someone as lightskin, now everybody a lightskin. One man gets jumped, now everybody getting jumped. Its like a joke can never just do its thing and leave quietly. The community be milking the joke until its completely dry.

I feel this on a spiritual level, I see a lot of JJK youtubers who barely even understand the things that was stated in the episode. I know generally people won't be as into things while farming for the algorithm but it makes me sad that a lot of what's actually happening gets thrown out for repeated jokes. Not even just JJK but just most anime in general I just noticed it a lot with JJK since it is my favorite series so its very noticeable when they're getting that slop out quickly.

Honestly why I just stick to 3-4 youtubers for the weekly leaks chapters and discussion. _Discussion_ theories and understanding of the power system. I dont bother with brain dead brain rot videos but thats just me, there are plenty of others who look at head empty content 🤷♀️ I do delve into character analysis videos and sometimes skit memes that are funny but not at all as the one this RUclipsr is saying lol

the first anime youtuber that I watched that did that "hood" review type of content was Synsei and after about a month of it I started seeing people imitating the thumbnail styles and commentary and either he stopped posting or got drowned out by the swarm of easy content creators.
Yea he still posts. But I think the only reason I see his vids still is because I’m subbed. I see new channels everyday that I think is a synsei vid based off the thumbnail.

Like current weekly anime I get, but a recent example is the Naruto vs Konohamaru mismatch. Like shoutout codenamesuper, bro goated and that shit had me laughing but a few days later I see mad yt recommendations and tiktok talking about this fight no one talked about in years cause someone popular posted about it.

I'm glad someone finally said it. The reason CJ and Synsei do so well is because they focus on quality over quantity but all these clones just want to post as soon as a new JJK episode drops. I can't even tell most of them apart because they ALL sound the same.
as someone who gets labelled under the "commentary" genre i do agree that a lot of these people just be rushing they shit out as soon as the episode drops. people like zeph, cj, teddy, and synsei tend to stick out since they all got a unique style and are genuinely creative people. that's why ion be rushing shit out and try to make the most unique commentary video possible to provide viewers with an abridged experience especially with the shibuya arc currently. overall, this a good video tho.

Yeah. Do you really think all of those guys thought up the same exact joke? Like I haven’t seen watched any of them since hidden inventory, but it sounds like they are saying the same stuff with different moments.
When it comes to Hood Anime Content, it definitely gets over saturated with memes like “I’m HIM” or “Black Air Force Energy” way too often. I personally would like to see more insightful things similar to something Swagkage would put out for Naruto.
In our current climate, the popular thing to do is copy what others do (Which is dumb, but makes sense at the same time) and unfortunately it leads to people becoming “Clones”. My solution isn’t really a “solution”, but I would just ignore most of them for right now and watch stuff that seems informative.

I dont know what you mean by "diversify" aside from the shitty content this youtuber mentions, the other more informative jjk anime manga creators talk about the same episode/chapter but whats different is their thoughts theories opinions and understanding of the anime/manga. There isnt anything "diversified " in either content just that the creator is entertaining enough and logically adapt in presenting information about the topic rather then brain rot. So dont be too hard on yourself, nothing today is "original". Its the person who gives it some spice, either they got or they dont everyones different its finding your people, the niche

We are at a point where the best of the best in anime is not enough and those haters have a platform where they can yell loud enough to be heard.
I see so many hate videos being pushed in my home feed on current and other anime that I have not seen yet that it starts to dissuade whether or not I want to check out that anime.

I mean admitedly this has kinda always been a thing, i remember the "why the asterick war sucks" videos from years ago lmao, plus it was cool to clown on sword art online and it is still pretty much a success lol. Back when i was a lot younger and had nobody to talk to about anime and it was hard to find anime i watched those videos and ironically it was kinda like gospel to me lmao, not just digi, but a lot of the people from back then i found myself just parroting their opinions lol. It took a couple years but eventually i just started to try out new things and see what i like, sometimes i still watch videos to see if something is interesting or to get a new perspective but i find that its more interesting to watch either reviews or introspectives on shows i have actually already watched.... heaven knows i have watched enough videos about hunter x hunter or berserk while pretty much anything that can be said has been said already about those series besides when a new chapter drops, or a new arc starts, but its interesting nontheless.
At the end of the day the new hotness can bring viewers in and people all keep looking for the new popular thing until it gets annoying, same reason why those songs that get played way too much get annoying after awhile (i cant take the black eyed peas anymore man, why do my parents love i gotta feeling so much lol),
Every once in a while, youtube decides to pull a W and recommend me channels that are actually based and not the same brain dead bs I've been seeing for a while. I honestly thought i was the only one who noticed all these clones out there doing the same video, giving a summary with a few decent jokes on the side. As of recently, there haven’t been any anime that I have found that can make you think further than what’s happening or make you question further without it transforming into some pile of over the top gore and extra violence or a weird, “straight out of a horny 16 year old’s” isekai. i can see your point. honestly as a new creator, it’s hard as a starting point to work your way up through diversity. i do wanna expand my content i do wanna do vids on other shows, movies etc that arent anime but i want to settle my “community” first. and by that, i wanna stand out through the popular demands of the anime community through exploring my creativity and how to actually utilise my potential instead of being a bandwagon. Other than that I agree, apart from anime people don’t really have a class of themselves to set in other market demands.
Yeah I also make more videos to the more popular shows. (Even tho they are videos I enjoy making) Rather than making videos that might not get as many views yet until more people watch the videos because of me and not because of the content. That should be the goal in my opinion, make yourself the content and eventually you can make anything you’d like and retain your fanbase/supporters etc.

This is actually a problem that even got me to stop making anime videos because it felt like a losing battle where you can review an anime or talking about something you're passionate about but you wont get nearly as much attention as someone who just repeats the same twitter jokes over multiple videos. although after some time I realised, I cant let the saturated anime market ruin the type of content I wanna make so im about to slowly get back into releasing more anime shit about shit I care about

Lowkey felt this same way when starting my own channel (and contributed to the problem a bit as well), it's just that when you see so many people doing it and getting like tens of thousands of views, you feel like you need to do it as well to compete or something.

I feel like this is part of a larger problem with youtubers as a whole jumping on trends for clicks and views. I know why they do it but it doesn't make them any less annoying to me. It's why I never wanted to watch many of them, it's just whatever cheap jokes are the most popular at the time.
I have to admit that the whole community overhype scenario for characters or moments has pissed me off the whole time and has even spoiled my desire to watch anime.

couple points that stood out:
- no presence of / hard to find thought, substance, questioning (ie when you said "What if Gojo did this, or..."). I dont finish a lot of hypothetical videos but I'll start them for sure. just somewhat interesting to hear the power scaling at least...
makes me think about, maybe I should start making little videos of scenes that stood out to me. I spend a lot of time watching anime, would be cool to capture those feelings to make it easier to communicate my interest with other people and also make it easier to reflect on my perspectives and whatnot as time passes...
- "internet anime ghetto lingo" this was interesting. while I enjoy and laugh at hearing "Toji spun the block and exhibited black Air Force energy" or whatever. Just such a ridiculous verbiage that I never considered if people actually spoke like it. Hearing you discredit that as non-existent outside the internet was interesting mostly because even this language doesn't really communicate characters and their intentions well... for instance, saying Toji as "peak darkskin energy" when he fought Gojo the first time completely washes away Toji's experiences in the Zenin family as a heavenly restricted user and how killing the strongest sorcery was that much more meaningful to someone in his position after having lost any semblance of a household / family and his wife dying. Like we could go into that further and possibly connect to real world examples. but Nah, Toji ran this, ran that, was running everywhere, he ran pockets and purses and...and.... like one or TWO humorous videos is good, fine. but all this copypaste is just not fun.
And yea nobody is making me watch jjk videos. im just saying it's a little annoying to hear the same rinsed jokes when I thought I was clicking on a theory video. but I mean, I guess it my problem for enjoying theory videos of fictional worlds anyway.
I can't quite blame video creators. What we're seeing is probably people's best attempts at balancing "Making a video about a topic Im interested in" with "Making a video that people would want to watch, rewatch, share, enjoy,...etc".

this is one of the things i've also realized also with reactors, at least when it comes to JJK. there are a few reactors who actually take their time to read the subtitles and understand what's going on in the story but soooo many reactors feel like they just turn off their brain and are just there to watch cool flashy fights and like sure JJK does have a lot of cool fights but especially this season there's so much more to talk about in terms of story, characters, etc... i wish people would actually take some time to talk about the things the story itself instead of just wanting to watch cool animation.

I have the same problem sometimes i will find a video i like and think i finally found someone only to realize i just found the exact same thing. There are two anime youtubers that i still like one a reviewer and one analytical however they do not get any attention and i fear that one day they will suffer the same fate. The only anime related content i watch outside of that is amvs, clips abridged shows and sometimes even shows or movies if i am lucky. I wish more RUclipsrs were more like KJMProduction. He does weekly videos recapping DBZ and he also cracks jokes too, but he actually does recap and express his opinions during the show, and every now and then provides insight that most fans don't think about or realize. He's the reason why I always take my breaks at 2pm on Sundays. The man has also talked about other animes in the past and his takes also feel great and refreshing

Like, not trying to sound like an old head but niggas use to actually TALK about the anime they like. They would speak about the story, do deep dives into directors body of work, read a mangaka's whole body of work, and like analysis it all to give us their own unique perspective on things.
It use to actually feel like they gave a shit about what they were talking about. I get that like an hour long video about the themes in Angel's Egg or Tracking down some lost OVA from the beginning of some director's career isn't everyone's cup of tea and won't pull in the same view count as like "Toji black air force energy comp 134" but like...damn can you niggas at least come up with something unique to say about this character you apparently love so much?

its been like this for a while, the problem is how mainstream anime has become as well as ppl searching for actual discussion in certain anime genres devoid of it (mostly the popular isekais, shonen, romcoms, etc). Kind of a non existent problem in the other genres

These the only guys I can watch because they'll actually break it down to you instead of making jokes for the sake of making jokes and sounding ghetto while being unironically funny with it. I'm sure there's more people out there that are talented and unique (Derek FDB has his own unique way of telling stories both cartoon and even movies; his Mary Jane Watson video had people really thinking and his Amber video put more things into a fresh perspective than most Amber slander videos on RUclips without coming off as defending her), but it's hard to find them with this sea of wannabe creators who seem to rather copy what they think works.

Someone else mentioned it earlier but the naruto vs konohamaru fight was a video, then like 15 other people did the exact same shit. its getting mad repetitive

lowkey thought you was just hating at the start of video but you actually brought up some good points. i've watched a lot of these videos over the weeks and until you mentioned it, i realized a lot of these niggas don't even know what is happening in the story, they just looking for the most hype thing to glaze about. there are some where i feel like they actually do like jjk and are trying to pay attention, but theres no doubt some of em are just watching so they can make a video every week for the hype.

Besides CJ and codename super and synseii Zephire makes good content. It’s a lot longer he makes manga focused vids too. He does the same vibe of videos as those clones but he still tries to set himself apart

So real for this. When I’m in a stump for ideas, I try to see others ppl content to gain some inspiration on what animanga to talk about or maybe even learn somethings on just content creation in general, but every time I browse through the anitube community, esp as of the last year or so, it’s the same shit with the black force energy characters, racial jokes about how this one character acts or jus ppl obv trying to follow the latest trendy anime, putting out a very lacklustre surface lvl review on it. Not even trying to hate since everyone is tryna make it out with this, but I miss seeing someone’s video n genuinely get inspired to make something that might be totally different than theirs but I would hope would be as entertaining, fresh and thought provoking as the one I would come across. But that’s jus not how it is anymore unfortunately.

I can relate that what you say is true, I don't relate in how i feel about it because i mostly play videos to sleep, have it in the background just while i do anything else, especially at work. But i also can add there used to be a time where the more critical anitubers existed as maybe the majority or a half of the community, actually this video title gave me digibro flashbacks (old anituber that was controversial for all sorts of things) while it can be interpr people nowadays enjoy more purely casual emotions i also feel the internet just "developed" or was forged in the opposite direction after we grew tired of analytical content, i know at least mother's basement still exists and that i hate every word he says because i can't stand his voice and I've heard his comments a thousand times from hundreds of other peeps as well, so do i miss analytical content yet? Nope... Just a matter of balance and I'm sure you can find what you seek if you look hard enough and it doesn't entirely depend on the flow of the internet

For me I love people like Olowwo Cj dachamp and Phillyonmars. Those are the only three RUclipsrs that can do the “hood” anime review. Especially Philly since he’s the most different one to say the least. Everyone else I really don’t care for since it’s only people talking about the characters fighting and not the nuance on why they’re fighting in the first place. Maybe it’s because I love to analyze anime and media. But I might be trippin or something like that.

Honestly, I'd add Codename Super, Synsei, and Zephire on that list too. CodenameSuper may sound like another "Hood Anime Tuber", but he more than makes it up by having great editing skills, he uses smart/witty metaphors to explain events, and he rarely spams the same joke over and over again. He sounds more "normal" with it than a lot of these guys.
Zephire expands himself to comics, video games, and even covers old cartoons and anime like Yu Yu Hakusho, Fist of the North Star, and Static Shock. He's also able to treat a serious moment as it's meant to be treated and gives good context to why and how the situation came to be, like the Gojo Fraud Watch stuff and actually added to good context on what actually happened instead of just mocking Gojo blindly.
Synsei, I think we all know him. He has made a lot of different ideas for his videos even before CJ and though CJ condenses his video and sacrifices brevity for the sake of quality, Synsei is the type to leave no stone unturned in his reviews when it comes to clarity and can actually callback on obscure yet important details in his jokes (like his issue with Sanji reclaiming his true dream from finding All Blue to being he wanted to find the Suke Suke No Mi to spy on naked women, which is canon as it happened) and is one of the very few to admit memes are just memes and that he doesn't believe them at all (Goku is a bad father/Zoro is racist), which is refreshing to me, because the way the anime community acts on topics like these, it's as if they truly believe it while completely ignoring contexts and contrary instances to these moments.
TLDR; along with the three people you mentioned, I believe these other three are great at what they do too and I'm sure there's more people who are good at it too, DerekFBG is one who seems he's going the right direction in commentary, but they're way too many copycats legitimately acting the same.

I feel like the worst part of this its actively changing the general fanbases view of the show and characters. A perfectly example is the "fraud" meme and the megumi summoning mahoraga joke. Like ppl now genuinely think megumi tries to summon it every time he struggles even a lil bit and that's just flat out not true but the joke has been said so many times that it's becoming the truth

Ngl i was really annoyed with how some people were treating gojos death.Like they were just stating that he either got offscreened or that he was a fraud and stuff like that.Some people didnt care for the chapter and what it entailed and instead just focused on the fact gojo was in fact dead and what that meant scaling wise.I didn't really think offscreening gojo was the best idea but it was at least written well to me and that was just forgotten in favour of complaining and calling gojo a fraud.
