I think the issue with the 3-episode rule is that it only applies to certain shows. Nowadays, most anime production falls apart halfway into the season due to industry standards, so if your show is just mindless garbage, then more likely than not it will fall apart even if it passed the rule. Good animation and action can only last you so long, so having a good story and characters helps.
@@rosesweetcharlotte that’s a lil different. That had little to do with the material and moreso how it was adapted, rushing its ending and cutting arcs. One other thing about the last fight, was that the show established that each individual ninja had only one ultimate ninja technique, that related to them specifically. And then MC just uses his rival’s technique out of nowhere. Like I know it’s a turn your brain off show, I don’t mind that, but if you’re gonna establish rules, be consistent with them. And if you wanna break them, provide a reason why (one that makes sense at least), which they didn’t.
It's established that other people can learn your technique. It's referenced several times in the series. The main protagonist and his rival were very close, so I don't think it's that far-fetched for him to know it.

I've pushed through the first 4 episodes, and gotta say I mostly agree with all your criticism. But for me the lackluster story and characters were harder to look over.
You can imagine the whiplash i got from watching episode 3 then going onto episode 4. I legit thought i skipped an episode because it felt like it skipped some more fights and moments before getting to the Anzu base. Then you add the mechs and i had a feeling that the anime jumped the shark. I clinged on to hope but stopped after episode 5. Such wasted potential.
9:00, I feel like many anime and manga have the "too many damn characters" issue, and honestly, most would do to have around 20-30% of the cast fused into other characters resulting in a smaller cast that's more impactful and memorable.

My partner and I were so bored with it that we fell asleep on the couch and we both woke up about 2 hours later with it still playing. There was some big fight scene happening and neither one of us cared to rewind. It was like biting into a beautiful pie that's filled with sawdust.

I love seven deadly sins, it’s such a good show. If they kept the same studio then it would’ve became one of the best series out there, but is was cut short because of studio change
This Anime started so good... but in the second half turned into a completely different show and it was ruined. The whole thing about Ninja's and their Ninja arts and "the code", was pointless. When the Cybernetic armor suits came out it changed into a completely different show. Then they reveal Emma is also a Ninja, changing her into a completely different character, and after that, they kill her in the dumbest way for no apparent reason. Why even have her in the first place. 7 episodes of a character that leads to absolutely nothing.
I started it and was so excited during the first 3 episodes. I remember seeing the mechs and telling my junior bro I don’t like the introduction of those suits. Totally threw me off
When I finished this series, I thought about it and realized I had the same feelings about “The Matrix Resurrections” - dissatisfaction and then indifference. Had me at the start though.
The thing is, a robot ninja fight could be really cool. A fast paced showdown with each fighter landing blows that would be fatal if not for the robot suit. The problem is everything is so fucking slow that it makes it seem like a kid playing with bionicles
I love the beginning episodes I thought it was fucking dope. I tried to hang on for the rest of it but every time I tried to watch it I kept falling asleep. It definitely took me by complete surprise when they introduced all the mech suits
Kaiju No. 8 is on a different level, likable main character and insane fights + great story. Solo Leveling is a hit as well with awesome fights. Both these anime will get better and crazier in season 2. As for Ninja Kamui, the second they introduced the mechs, I dropped the anime. It's funny because, I think Kaiju No 8 is kind of a mech anime in a weird way :)))

It happens a lot lately Ppl been hype about it, bragging like it's best anime of the season, and then half the cour, the animation quality drops, plot became repetitive, too much distraction than the real thing etc Just not long ago it happens to Uzumaki, well who knows another big title might follow the same steps? 😏

The Show had something going for it in the First Episode but later on, I do agree that the Mechs fighting each other was pretty bad and focusing on multiple characters got kinda confusing because this Series is about the Main Character wanting Revenge for his family being murdered

Subscribed off this video alone. I couldn’t describe how each bit of information you gave was so utterly true. I was so excited for this show and I got hooked off of just episode one just to have episode 5-6 to roll around and make me genuinely think I starting watching the wrong show
I gave Ninja Kamui a BIG chance after the first three episodes, then was solely disappointed by the 5th episode......I've never seen any show drop the ball THIS bad
They didn’t drop the ball. They fucking threw it.
@@ruwhite6312they popped the ball
Me: Yes! The final fight is going to be without the suits!
*Final Fight is with the suits
Me: Nooo!!!
If even Tsuda Kenjiro couldn't save it... then i dont know what could've save it
I've pushed through the first 4 episodes, and gotta say I mostly agree with all your criticism.
Holy smokes, a random ToekneeTalks video appears in my feed! Hyped for this!!!
9:00, I feel like many anime and manga have the "too many damn characters" issue, and honestly, most would do to have around 20-30% of the cast fused into other characters resulting in a smaller cast that's more impactful and memorable.
I found it extremely hard to keep up with the first few action scenes. The opening is the only fight I appreciated but this story is also mild and u don't really care for anyone
My partner and I were so bored with it that we fell asleep on the couch and we both woke up about 2 hours later with it still playing. There was some big fight scene happening and neither one of us cared to rewind. It was like biting into a beautiful pie that's filled with sawdust.
This show is like giving a chatgpt prompt on a cool ninja anime and then it just took it in a completely different direction
Since they introduce the weird ass mech suits I immediately drooled cuz it veered so far away from the ninja aspect it set up in the beginning. And I'm so glad I dropped it from what I've been hearing
They should've used Cyberpunk implants or high tech ninja tools instead of suits and the anime could've been somewhat decent
2:40 that parkour movie was good imo
Agree
if we apply the 3 episode rule towards One piece then One Piece gets good after the first 275 episodes
Steins;Gate *and* Monster mentioned?! I knew you were one of my favorite creators for a reason. Just gotta mention NGE now. 😛
Ninja Kamui is better than these 2
Steins;Gate and Monster are leagues above Evangelion imo.
@@Gundam-Primeyeah. Evangelion is good at all. But those two..are something else.
I didn't knew you had a secondary anime channel, heck, I didn't even knew you liked anime! Instant subscribed uncle Tony. I want more. What is more, is there a chance to see you do blind let's plays? That would be really neat
fully agree, i think i gave up caring after ep 5 or 6 so i never saw the end
Honestly speaking
I couldn't get over ep 8 and thank u for wrapping it all up for me. Ama tell my bois that I watched all of it . 😂😂😂
The introduction of mechs just made me go, "yeah, this is going to turn bad from here on out "
Hey man, Takt didn’t go bad till like the last few eps, and that’s because they were constrained by the game doing things
The move to 3d CGI was a colossal wallop of elephant dump.... I was livid
I love seven deadly sins, it’s such a good show. If they kept the same studio then it would’ve became one of the best series out there, but is was cut short because of studio change
Ahahahaha no
@@crazymage5316 right now the have a sequel going, the wouldn’t have if nobody watched it. It had good characters and a great world
@@monsterhunter4life975 i meant it being good.
@@crazymage5316 bro shut up it’s a good show, your hating for zero reason except, “seven deadly frames🤓
@@monsterhunter4life975 nah all the pdo and grooming stuff creepy
Ninja Kamui was like the anime adaptation of John Wick. It had so much potential (the downfall must be studied)
Ninja Kamui first 3 episodes were AMAZING. And then it went off of a cliff and continued to free fall until the end.
14:58 that was a hilarious example
Kamui? Watch the OG. Dagger of Kamui, 1985.
I haven't watched it since then, and I still remember it.
It's like the ultimate warrior. Super hype rushing towards the ring, after he's gas out
Yup. Episode 1 blew me away. I quit by ep 3. I didn't even make it to the mechs, lol.
I agree with everything other than the characters part. I wish they made it a bit longer to get more info on the side characters
I started it and was so excited during the first 3 episodes. I remember seeing the mechs and telling my junior bro I don’t like the introduction of those suits. Totally threw me off
By the fanart too
For me it'll always be the Friendship Blast™️at the end of Soul Eater
So much buildup, man. I thought there was just gonna be...more.
When I finished this series, I thought about it and realized I had the same feelings about “The Matrix Resurrections” - dissatisfaction and then indifference. Had me at the start though.
Wasnt expecting a band i actually listen to, to be in an anime opening.
I actually did a double take when you said coldrain.
The thing is, a robot ninja fight could be really cool. A fast paced showdown with each fighter landing blows that would be fatal if not for the robot suit. The problem is everything is so fucking slow that it makes it seem like a kid playing with bionicles
I still had hope when the mech suits popped up but the fights just grinded to a halt afterwards. I don't even understand why.
By the third episode I was thinking this could be a top 5 action anime. That thought faded fairly quickly.
I out my guy on this. My guy, who doesn’t like Anime loved the beginning. I felt like I really really messed up.
I had hopes for ninja kamui. When they rolled in the cyber suits. I was sorely disappointed.
Honestly, if they hadn't given the protag a suit as well, I think it would have been ok.
“How to ruin an anime” without even watching the promised neverland INSTANTLY pops up in my head
I was super f*ckin hyped for this show after the first episode cause it simply pleases my smooth lizzard brain.... I dropped the show before episode 10🥲
The fact that we went from perfect hand to hand combat to cgi mechs killed me
The disappointment on my face was diabolical.
And it was so good at the start fr😭
The Fable has the expecations to even a non-combat anime about a man who can do the best looking combat but fights it everyday during his vacation as a pro merc. It's actually really good and doesn't do too much with a mature version of slice of life.
I put it on Hiatus when I watched the first robo fight and it looks like I should make that a permanent one. Thanks!
As soon as they revealed the mech for the mc I was out. It legit looks like an apex legends cut scene.
The movie "afraid" with the Ai thing lmao
The moment the suits came in I knew the lost it.
Should have just kept it at ninja techniques and skill only.
12:39 they're fighting in roku city
reminds me of God of Highschool, an anime adaptation that had great animation and music imo but flopped it hard
Imo, my hatred for GOH the constant red nose and ears🤮 I don't know why they think that that looks good, it's very distracting to me... you can tell they rushed it that's why a lot of people are confused like, how is it supposed to be God of high school when they wasn't even in high school enough?😂
@@rhaynbowbritesb43 to be fair, thats not the studio fault.... that's how it look in the manhwa.
@E.nuel21 That's still distracting, though.. .
The announcer having a mouse move over adult anime as he says, there are thousands and thousands of good anime, he knows exactly what he did.
It happens a lot lately
Ppl been hype about it, bragging like it's best anime of the season, and then half the cour, the animation quality drops, plot became repetitive, too much distraction than the real thing etc
Just not long ago it happens to Uzumaki, well who knows another big title might follow the same steps? 😏
Yeah, I remember seeing the first two episodes and thinking 'Wow Ninja John Wick!"
Then the dumb suits with ugly CGI and lame "reveals".
“The kaiju fight is f cking SIck” i felt that 😂 but fr cant wait for that season 2
How can we get you to watch Thunderbolt Fantasy?
My brother begged me to watch this show. He claimed it was amazing. I only made it to episode 6. It was trash.
Anyone who incorporates Overwatch into their RUclips video has got my vote
Edit: now that I finished the video, I loved Kamui and dropped it by episode 5 or 6, it just didn’t keep my attention.
I just realized I didn't even finish watching this, ninja suits changed the vibe.
I think that ep1 of ninja kamui is a masterpiece
ninja kamui had so much potential loved the idea and concept in the first couple episodes but once the bots came in i hated it
you earned yourself a new sub
Watching this video reminds me that actually i didn't drop this show & watched it until the end. The problem is.. I totally forgot about it, i have no any recollection of the last episode 😅
The Show had something going for it in the First Episode but later on, I do agree that the Mechs fighting each other was pretty bad and focusing on multiple characters got kinda confusing because this Series is about the Main Character wanting Revenge for his family being murdered
the Fact that Ninja Slayer The Animation has a more Satisfying Ending Fight than Ninja Kamui just baffles me
I literally agree with everything in this video EXCEPT 10:27 MIKE MORRIS WAS A G.O.A.T
lol bro saw the thumbnail and was like ahhhh someone who agrees with me. Honestly I stopped watched the show after I saw they try to make a mech anime.
This fumble almost rivals yoko ono's shenanigans
I am so glad i made up my mind to only buy/give time to media a year after its release.
I have been saved THOUSANDS of hours.
