    Helpful but not sure what to do. I'm tender and sore in the shoulder area. I can't even get my arm behind my back due to the shoulder pain it causes.
    I was getting some range of motion back slowly with stretches and exercises. However, yesterday after some band work and stretching I reactivated the shoulder area. I was in terrible pain for about 5 minutes and then it subsided. Still sore and tender. I going to take ibuprofen for about a week straight and basically rest my arm and shoulder.

  • @m4wilson
    @m4wilson 4 года назад +20

    Absolutely awesome video! I was concerned and had no idea what I was dealing with. This is the source of my pain!!! I worked out my shoulders hard and the next day woke up with pain and even some numbness down to my fingers. Scary! I took anti inflammatories and it got a bit better so I knew it was either an impingement or irritation of some sort. The stretch is gold and the trigger point therapy is helpful! I’m looking forward to getting this behind me.
    Questions: Does this heal completely? How long typically does it take? Should I integrate ice? No shoulder workouts until fully healed?
    Thank you so much for posting this!

    • @FrontRowwithEd
      @FrontRowwithEd  4 года назад +6

      Hi there, happy to hear the video helped. Let's try to answer your questions: Yes, should heal completely and the use of ice is a good idea. I would limit the intensity of your shoulder workouts until you no longer have any significant tenderness or tightness of the suprapinatus tendon. Also, check out this video I made and check to see if there is also tenderness at the insertions site that needs to be addressed ruclips.net/video/M75Cl2Ku2IY/видео.html Keep me posted on your progress and please subscribe if you haven't because I would love to hit 10,000 in 2020 Thanks, Ed

    • @m4wilson
      @m4wilson 4 года назад +1

      Front Row with Ed and Elizabeth Yes! I have tenderness in the insertion spot which you referenced in your other video. I will be working both of the areas you prescribed. I think blood flow to the affected areas is crucial but I will work in some ice. I’m about 7-10 days from the initial “wake up in pain” and numbness moment. So I’ll try to keep you informed of my progress. I believe it’s been coming on for some time as the insertion point has been a point of some soreness and popping as you mentioned. I think what did me in was an exercise I implemented in a program I am doing which involved 100 reps of half your 10 rep max for all major muscle movements. The exercise I’m referring to is a modified face pull which you take and externally rotate as you pull back. I could hardly move the next day and I think it set me over the edge. I’m also a golfer and turned 40 so I probably “had it coming.” In trying to get my arms and shoulders in Bette repositions but now I absolutely have to!
      Thank you for the insight! It is the answer I’ve been looking for. I am a quick healer but I’ll see how long this takes. Thanks again! I’d encourage anyone to like your page.

      Front Row with Ed and Elizabeth So I got a Theracain thing. Been hitting it tonight. I did massage on the front insertion point. Today I have been very very sore! Haven’t lifted weight since seeing your video. Should I be concerned if it’s more sore now? Or is it just from working on it and it should get better?

    • @FrontRowwithEd
      @FrontRowwithEd  4 года назад +1

      @@m4wilson It is probably just sore from working it. I would hold off on both the trigger point work and cross friction massage for a few days and it should calm down. You can also ice to reduce acute soreness. Let me know how it feels in a few days ~ Ed
