- Why does it take years to get a case to court? Why are there such low conviction rates?
No wonder so many don’t bother, right?!
But, as we dive a little deeper into the process that the police go through, we can start to see more.
• Fighting against criminals who withhold all information.
• Searching for evidence, sometimes from decades ago.
• Interviewing children whose memory is not always linear.
Can you imagine trying to do this job?
That is why I’ve brought Detective Chief Superintendent, Martin Maclean, who spent 30 years in roles such as Head of Child Abuse Investigation onto my podcast to help us understand more - because I know that we’re angry, but there are reasons why it’s the way it is.
To all the police officers that do this job, thank you.

Thank you Jeremy, amazing work as always
Good guest and interview, Jeremy. Being in Scotland, I wonder if he knows anything about what happened to the Scottish RUclipsr that used to cover a lot of the activity on the dark web. I can't recall his name but I read something a while back about his being charged with the SA of a young staffer. I unsubscribed after witnessing a too graphic, horrid child abuse case on his channel and wonder whatever happened in his investigation and case.
