I love your story telling. Keep it up! They are fun and makes us understand English in the context. Moreover, you explanation of grammar and vocabulary is a bonus. Thanks!
Wow, that's really terrifying. While you were telling your story I was able to visualize the images you described 😨 ..... congratulations, however, you are very brave 💪
Luke sir I really like your story presentation because I hardly learn more about english language the way you are help me more I respect to you and your dedication
I can relate to your story about walking down a country road but in the U.S and it was pitch black. Also there was no street lights. It's really freaking scary, You are very BRAVE. Glad you are okay.
The house is called Baddesley Clinton if anyone wants to do their own research on this house. Don't know why the story teller didn't name the house in the video.
it must be boring being a ghost you spend all day playing computer games . then your alarm goes off and its midnight and you have to do the ghost walk again
Just walked this with you on Google maps. Christ even in the day time that's creepy. Brave man indeed. I used to do similar walks in Derbyshire from matlock Bath, same dark scary feeling but at least I was with friends 😅😅
I listened to this lovely story. Thank you for sharing your childhood scary story 😅. I was driving while listening to tour story. The sound which was playing in the background of tour story makes me pausing the video many times, I thought that sounds from my car or other drivers' cars beside me on the light traffic. Then I recognised it's tour video. Honestly, I laughed at myself although I should be frightened from what happened to you when you run🤣🤣🤣. Anyhow, we are lucky that you still alive to tell us story. It happens to all people who live in countryside, including me😥😅... please keep sharing us your stories or similar one... Idris, Oman
what especially I like in your telling stories is your clear pronunciation. thank you! what is about the ghosts in the UK... they are really exist. I had the terrifying experience of meeting it, and later my husband confessed to me that he saw it as well.
Okay😊 we had our relatives' children to stay overnight. I usually slept in our bedroom on the second floor but this time I have decided to go to sleep on the first floor on the sofa closer to the fireplace. somewhat about 4 in the morning I was half asleep when suddenly saw a man in the doorway. I screamed in horror and woke up.. the ghost disappeared. I made everybody in the house wake up. later my husband confessed to me that he had seen a man who was waving to him from behind the window of our semi-detached house. but that man died a long time ago. It was not funny I have to say.
love the ghost story so scary or scary, never mind this one and the word to describe them kkk! I don't have any... but my grandmother and father tell some of their experiences... they are always incredible... they show the possible other side of our simple lives... love your story 😉❤
Sounds great. I love walking through the forest late night and would love to walk this route. Late night walks give me a buzz. Yh I'm a bit weird. But why didn't you take a torch with you when you left the house?
Everone is aprehensive about walking along rural lanes at night. So, easy to allow your imagination to run riot. But a ghost carrying a touch is a new one on me. 😂 Strange as it may seem, i travelled the same route myself only yesterday (Sunday). From Lapworth Station along Station Rd, turned right at the bottom along a country lane & eventually, over the same hump back bridge over the canal. I assume the old manor house mentioned is Baddesly Clinton. A mouted manor house with origines going back to the 14th cent. It just across the fields to the right & is now a well visited National Trust Property & ive frequently visited in the past. So, this is an interesting & scary monologue of a walk along a lane in the dead of night that freaked you out, due to the perception of being followed by a person or ghost carrying a touch (or as the Americans prefer to say 'flashlight'). Note of advice: always carry a bunch of garlic & a large crucifix with you at night if you live in the rural areas around Birmingham.
Hi Luke. Thank you for uploading this episode. It was really scary...! I don't know why, but it reminded me of Harry Potter things👻🏠!You must have been very brave at that time. If I were in the same situation, I couldn't walk until home alone... It also reminds me of the movie "Blair Witch Project."👻
Hi Luke ,i worked in droitwich spa in 2003 few paces away, and every 1h30 in night i walked 5km every night from wisemann's dairy,i can imagine your expierience.i felt the same
Hello Luke. I know the road you are walking down very well, as I live 2 miles away. It sounds like you lived near to Chadwick End. Baddesley Clinton is owned the National trust. There are Priest holes there, built into the remaining drains by a guy named Nicholas Owen, who designed and built secret passages into other houses in the Midlands. And Baddesley has links with the Gunpowder Plot (as does Lapworth, as Robert Catseby the main plotter was born in Bushwood Grange, Lapworth) I am a historian and I must correct you on the point regarding punishment for Catholics; none were burned for heresy, they were hanged drawn and quartered for treason. It was Catholic Monarchs (Mary Tudor here, and others in Europe) who followed Rome and burnings of non -Catholics for heresy. Regarding the murder, it was Nicholas Brome who murdered the priest. It was sometime in the 1490s, before the Reformation and he had to build the local church for penance . This was penance to be asked for, from Rome and Henry VII, who was the King at the time. He built the small church at the end of the pathway in the copse beyond the car park. He also built the one at Packwood, as it is very similar in architecture ; the bell towers of the churches are known as the 'Towers of atonement'. There is a novel about Brome too. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/baddesley-clinton/features/nicholas-brome www.ourwarwickshire.org.uk/content/article/baddesley-clintons-medieval-murder-mystery-impact-historical-fiction
Thanks for the additional information and corrections - isn't Brome, or someone, actually buried in the church porch, so everyone walks over him when entering or leaving the building? Baddesley is a lovely house - well worth visiting.
Wow, that was really scary, thank God you'd survived your adventures, and yeahm that's very true, in the middle of darkness we just can't think rational.
It probably helped having a couple of drinks before you made the walk. Walking through a dark countryside in the middle of the night with sober thoughts is a little more daunting
I remember Hamish well. He used to floss my teeth and boil my kettle for me at night before lights out. He would bounce up and down on all fours, coyly staring into my eyes and barking like a dog. Last I heard he was running a koala petting zoo in Perth. One day he disappeared: all they found was a pair of Adidas and the keys to his WRX. Dingos got him, I reckon. Poor b*gger.
Luke, could you make a video about "conditionals" for your premium subscribers, please? There're lots of information on RUclips but without different examples and pronunciation drills it doesn't have much sense, unfortunately. I hope you'll read it :)
It was during Elizabeth 1's time - not during the Reformation (which saw Henry VIII and Mary I burning those caught reading the bible and refusing to attend mass alive) that Catholics were hunted. Not because the Queen was intolerant - she was quite the opposite. But the Pope used his loyal catholic subjects in England and Britain to continually attempt to bring about insurrection and overthrow her. It became untenable until finally Elizabeth retaliated, and catholic priests were outlawed.
You forgot to add what asphalt the road was made of on that road you mentioned , and what colour socks you was wearing oh and what star sign you are , oh you may as well have added your shoe sizes
Listen man l worked milles and milles on my own and l'v also push biked on my own for milles and milles and that's the best time of my life but also yes their are have bin sometimes it's bin to make your hair stands up on end and now l like ghost stories now

It is very quiet there late at night. I took quite a few people home there in my taxi after they had a night out in Stratford upon Avon.
And they were never found again, I imagine...
Nicely narrated Luke.

Last few lines really gave me goosebumps
When I grew up I used to walk through farmer's fields besides the graveyard in the dead of night. I wouldn't do that now🙂.
I am actually terrified due to background music and it adds horrofic things
Sounds great. I love walking through the forest late night and would love to walk this route. Late night walks give me a buzz. Yh I'm a bit weird. But why didn't you take a torch with you when you left the house?
This is the bravery of the man
We should take it as an example , thank you sir !

@@johndavies1090 That's correct. He was buried in the church porch, supposedly upright.
