This song is a masterpiece and the way they blend together the band and orchestra is amazing. The orchestra slowly builds up and then takes it to another level. I CAN LISTEN TO THIS OVER AND OVER AND NOT GET TIRED OF IT. EVERY TIME I HEAR IT, I GET CHILLS AND THE HAIR ON MY ARMS STANDS UP.
This is the 2nd time they played with this Symphony. No Leaf Clover was made for the 1st Symphony performance from 1999. Check Metallica and the San Fran Symphony performing Bleeding Me or The Outlaw Torn!!
2nd night was amazing. Mind is still BLOWN. The beginning with "The Ecstasy Of Gold", the old western feel made it like the beginning of a Clint Eastwood movie combined with a 155mm howitzer.
The S&M stuff is great. I’ve always thought of metal music as a relation to classical music. I mean Beethoven and Bach were heavy in my opinion. Metallica and the orchestra went together perfectly. Loved it! Wish I could have been there for either of these two album recordings since I grew up playing classical music on the piano. Love love it!!!
I was at that show! Absolutely amazing. You could feel the electricity in the stadium. The symphony sounded like straight out a movie soundtrack. Best thing was the tribute to cliff.
This sticks in my head from when it came out metalica is great always will be. In this time in music many people don't have a clue.. one day people will wake up.
You're only the second reactor that I have seen that actually reacts to this particular song! Thank you so much from Cody Wyoming!!! keep it up you're awesome😁
Just came upon this video. My daughter and I were there. Amazing performance. Unfortunately James went into rehab a couple of days after the performance.
I have this on CD in my car and I play it past 11. LOUD as I can because the symphony orchestra absolutely kills it. Another great one with a symphony orchestra is with a band called Dimmu Borgir "The Mourning Palace" live at Forces of the Northern Light.
@@henderson023 The guitar is called 'Greenie' It was originally owned by Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green. It was then owned by Gary Moore, and now Kirk. So it has quite a lot of heritage behind it.
@@RolandDeschain1 Gotcha (not enough of a rock buff to know who Gary Moore is, but that's what research is for). Is this the case of the Traveling Guitar?
I was there. The energy was through the roof. You have never felt energy like you did at this concert. Metallica puts on great shows.... but this was something else. If you measured the energy level it would be jigher than the nuclear, atomic and hydrogen bomb combined.
Yo Van, your reactions have been FIRE in the last couple of months. Really appreciate a great reaction. You truly love these videos. Keep up the great work.
I remember back in the day, my father saying you won't see rock bands playing when they're in their 50's and 60's. Umm... 😆😎

one of the most beautiful songs by metallica
I was able to see this show in San Francisco. I have seen Metallica like 28 times and this was the best sounding concert I have ever heard.

the did one at MSG in NYC after the 1st one in San Fran.

This was LIT!!! this is my favorite Metallica song, by far!!!❤❤🎉🎉🎉
This song NEVER fails to give me goose bumps. So much power and meaning.....

You MUST hear Master of Puppets S&M from the 1999 show. Best live performance of any song ever.
I watched this concert at the movie theater and it felt like I was there!
Amazing song Larz kills every time!!!!
The groove, kicks, crashes and fills were much better when they played it S&M1.
True also James voice was amazing in S&M1

The 1999 version is The best ever
Should listen to the whole S&M album
love it
This is a masterpiece.
And also a moment for Kirk to show off his 3mil$ guitar😉
This the best song Metallica have written in 20+ years.
And BTW, that's a $2 million guitar Kirk is playing.
$2 mil? Special wood used in the construction or played by another rock/metal legend before Kirk?

@@henderson023 If you don't know Gary Moore by name you've probably heard his most famous song 'Still Got The Blues'.
Went to the cinema to see this, amazing experience.

This was actually written with the Symphony when they did the S&M1. So the Symphony wasn't just doing their own thing along.
This is one of the 2 songs actually written to be played with the orchestra. The other is -Human.
ill be real honest....i thought the performance at S@M 1 was better....but thats just me. This song got me interested in Metallica when I was a kid.
HEY VAN. if you're back on music I have a suggestion for you. Johnny cash-The one on the left was on the right.
Yo Van, your reactions have been FIRE in the last couple of months. Really appreciate a great reaction. You truly love these videos. Keep up the great work.
I appreciate that!!!
There is only 1 S&M. For all time
Fun fact ..check out how much that guitar is worth that Kurt is playing
kirk only paid 900thousand dollars for that guitar
Wrong version
I don't think they have played this song without the symphony.
They have. On their last tour.
r/confidentlyincorrect
They played it 127 times without the orchestra
@@tallycahamuhlhetru26 But it just doesn't sound right without the orchestra :)
