Been meaning to make this mod with on a couple of their fixed ratchets.
Also, worth noting that Gearwrench has a low profile head 3/8” ratchet. Autozone used to have something slick but it’s been gone for a while now.
You can just get the mastercraft maximum 1/4 flex ratchet from canadian tire for $49.99 CAD
great mod!
Thanks!
dude did a head swap on his ratchet
Fo Sho
Wouldn't that be accomplishing the same thing?
I wonder if there's a 1/4" long breaker bar that you could use for the handle to save buying two ratchets.
Will a TF72 ratchet head fit on a TM9G breaker bar?
So getting a FC72-2 cover plate, but then needs machine work?
In the video you used an already machined one or just how it comes from snap on?
Thats how it came from Snap on
I changed the plugs on the 2013 wrx last July. PITA. Luckily, I had the swivel and u joint sockets. It still took forever. I've heard some dealership mechanics will raise the engine a little to provide clearance. Opinions on that?
Yes on EJ and some FA engines I used to removed the engine mount bolts and tilt the engine. I forgot what I used to do for H6's, BUT I have a double jointed spark plug socket specifically for the 3.6 in the Tribeca.
One socket for one engine, in one car, what tom foolery!
After head switch from 1/4 to 3/8 gear is the quick release feature working or just an open hole in the back of the ratchet 🤔
The quick release was discontinued, so the new heads will not have an open hole. I had an older version ratchet.
I lost the little ball bearing in a snap on 1/4” drive stubby ratchet and now it’s a nice paperweight. Not sure if I wanna shell out the cost of a rebuild kit for that bearing lol. Btw I have your transmission case. Great work as always!
Message or email your address. I'll mail you that ball bearing
It's a 3/32 ball bearing. I got some for cheap on Amazon.
@@brad3741 NICE! Great tip!
Snap on customer service will warranty that, ask how I know
Why not buy a harbor freight ratchet, it's the same as owning a Subaru. 😅😅😅
LOL
