    I have been using Koken tools for over 30 years.
    The tools are excellent. However, as an aircraft engineer, I buy tools of various brands based on quality, design, purpose, price and how often I use that tool.
    I have an eclectic collection of tools based on the design.
    I have Armstrong (defunct USA brand...My favourite No 1 tool manufacturer for spanners especially), Craftsman, Easco, Koken (best socket extensions), Snap-on, Bahco, Gedore and an odd brand from Taiwan called Oxwall. I have real loyalty to buying the best of each litter!!!
    I assess every tool for specific use and need...In my view the only way to select tools. They all work perfectly on any aircraft or vehicle. Metric and Imperial.
    Mix'n match guys....

    Oh yeh I remember drooling over tool catalogue pages lining up my next tool haul .
    I think Koken USA been off an easy game for close to a decade when should of been at a few trade events and making most of online retail .
    Fact we had buy through independent tool dealers or amazon japan is evidence of missing a market sector .
    Koken has some totally unique socketry and is proper nice quality .
    I always expected them go up to at least a 60 tooth with ratchet mechanism, same feel but 60 tooth count be amazing .
    Be cool to know their philosophy behind the ratchet mechanism and tooth count .

    While I think I'm going to stick with Snappy ratchets due to having good tooth engagement... I will say the Koken Z-eal sockets are my favorite sockets I have. I like Koken sockets more than Snappy, even though the Kokens are far more affordable. I want something like that yellow sign they gave you to put on my garage wall. I wonder if Palmac actually sells that (I'll check later) or if it was promotional for you only. I don't think I noticed it on their site when I made an order from them last month.

    It seems like Koken USA is a bit higher priced thañ Amazon Japan. 2 to 3 or more times expensive. I'm sure much faster service but when adding to your tools the waiting isn't that bad as I already have most of the stuff. Just that Koken is so much better than what I'm using... So well built how they get that back drag a step ahead no doubt!

  • @rwdplz1
    @rwdplz1 3 года назад +1

    Checking out the Koken USA website, looks like you can't order them directly? That would be the first thing to fix if they want to get their tools out there. I can order Snap-On tools without having to chase down a truck (although that can be fun). Hopefully they fix that quickly.
    They should really lean into the 'Made In Japan' angle too.
    Ordering the 3725Z ratchet, sockets, and a couple screwdrivers now, the coupon code almost covers the cost of shipping. Prices are pretty reasonable, looking forward to trying them out.

    Hi MrSubaru, i really like your tool-videos. Keep them coming :)
    At the moment i'm planning on getting more tools myself and i was wondering which brands you can reccomend when it comes to sockets. I am very fond of the Ko-Ken and would like to know how they compare with the Stahlwille and/or Hazet ones. I will probably go with impact sockets, do you have any expierience with those?

    • @MrSubaru1387
      @MrSubaru1387  3 года назад +2

      I don't have any hands on experience with Stahlwille, Hazet, nor Ko-ken impact sockets. I know each offer them. I'm sure they're of great quality, just as the other tools they make. Snap-on, MAC, Matco all have great impact sockets. Sunex, very affordable, very nice impact sockets as well.

    I have a gd impreza and its got a rotational whurring sound at 50kp/h
    And it gets worse until about 70kp/h and the sound of the car covers it up at 100kp/h.
    I had the same sound 2 years ago at the front. Was a broken hub, the wheel had a small amount of play. BUT both the rear wheels currently have no play but still make the same whurring sound. I really want to fix them myself but also want to know if there is more steps I can take to narrow it down to the bearing or could it be something else.. like brakes lightly stuck onto rotor? Maybe handbrake locked on? I just don't want to fork the $500 out for it to be something else
    Anyone have any suggestions?
