In the following short video, I buy an genuine 12AH EGO battery and compare it to this "10 AH" . It appears to really be a 12 AH battery: ruclips.net/user/shortsV0FJEpQiu4Q?si=n1rsb5o1SDpLbTzt

Those pink cells at least look like genuine Samsung 30Q 18650 cells, but as they are 3AH per cell, this is likely a 14S3P pack, with the 56V coming from a higher-than-nominal charge of 4v/cell, but we see this with "20V" battery packs from most power tool companies (5S1P)
Suffice to say, this is likely a 51.8v nominal, 58.8v max, 9.0AH battery pack.
EGO is likely using the highest amperage 18650 cells it could find, and that color looks like a BAK 2050mah 30A cell, though your picture shows 9.2wh on the label? That's about 2450mah.
Thank you youtube algorithm for showing me this, lol.

Cool, even if it's a 9Ah battery, it proved to run twice as long as my genuine 5Ah EGO battery, so overall I am impressed with this Generic battery.

Yes looks like 30Q which are junk cells, i seen many many fail Milwaukee M18 9Ah and M12 xc 6.0 earlier days

@@edvanes517825r are great cells as well as 30q. Capacity amp different between them. I have 30q in my high output tools seem better than 25r but depending on draw and recharging.

Those pink cells with Samsung on them are good cells as I seen them being used in many devices and even DIY projects
..they work really good....so this video just showed how good the batteries actually are...nice video. 😊

I sent off a 2.0 AH and a 7.5 AH EGO battery to a company called MTO. They rebuild all kinds of lithium batteries. I also received a new warranty replacement 7.5 AH EGO. Right now the MTO batteries are performing very well. The 7.5 AH MTO seems to be out performing the new EGO just by a bit. I don't know what the long term performance will be. MTOs rebuild service is not inexpensive but is a a hundred dollars less than a new EGO. So we will see.

I tried the same thing on Amazon. Without watching your entire video; you probably got the same results that I did. It lasted as long as a genuine EGO 5ah one.
I feel I overpaid for it. When the postman handed it to me; I thought there was some mistake; the battery was so light.
It all turned out well in the end. I got a full refund, and I got to keep the battery.

They are samsung cells but likely not the top of the barrel. Usually greens are either samsung or sony depending on the generation. LG is normally brown.

Even if they are not top tier cells, they proved to run slight more than twice as long as a new genuine EGO 5Ah battery at half the price... so I can't complain with this generic battery performance.

Great video! Any update, how’s it holding up? Thanks for posting. I agree these batteries are way too expensive. Looks like you lucked out on this one👍

1yr old and I now also have a genuine 12AH EGO bettery plus this one. I can't tell the difference, they are both the same. This generic battery is 100% the same as a genuine 12AH.

ALIEXPRESS doesn't even sell EGO batteries as of this date. Interesting. TEMU does. I just ordered one off of eBay (9.6AH $160) and curious how that will work. The fact it has the EGO serial number with date which NONE of the other generics have it is strange.

Yeah I strongly suspect the one in this video are genuinely real EGO batteries that were returned or refurbished. I still have it and it's the same as a genuine EGO 12ah battery.

These were probably real unbranded Ego batteries. Manufacturers will do this so they can sell to other vendors that distribute. Because of the small market of this battery, it might not make sense to “knockoff”. But if Ego catches wind of this, then they are not going to be happy. What was the price of this 10ah battery?

@@Mr-ChrisI have a bunch of EGO garden power tools and a EGO 2000w powerstation with 4 x 7.5ah batteries. I use my 7.5ah batteries to run my custom electric recumbent trike. This battery performs better than my 48v ebike battery. EGO list their batteries as 56v. However, I know it is configured in a 14s lithium pack. A 14s pack in the ebike world equates to a 52v battery. I’ve watched other YT videos of repairs/tear down on EGO batteries. I am impressed by the build of EGO batteries. Thanks for your videos.

These generic batteries don't have the phase-changing material surrounding the batteries. According top Ego, that makes them last longer.

I thought the same thing too, however I got my hands on a genuine 12AH battery and the cells looked the same. ruclips.net/user/shortsV0FJEpQiu4Q?si=ujtQAfl_TmnLuI59
