    Problem with a manufacturer sending you a battery, is the possibility that they send you a hopped up one, hand assembled from higher quality components more carefully then a regular off the production line one. So you end up schilling a product that isn't what the general public is buying. If you wanted to be true, you'd just order another one yourself and see how it compared.

    • @AroundTheHome1
      @AroundTheHome1  2 года назад +12

      Yeah, about that. It was shipped from an Amazon Warehouse, not their manufacturing facility. So, really don't think this is some special unit. Hey, but I do have links on my website if you want to donate then I will buy more directly from the store 😁

    Thanks- Keep us all posted. I have the Power Station, 21" Self Propelled Mower, 530CFM Blower, and String Trimmer, Power Inverter (super handy for CPAP and small remote jobs) mixed battery sizes, from 2.5 amp up to 10 amp, but have 13 in circulation, all EGO so-far. Considering getting brush head and several attachments. Not a lick of trouble with any of these EGO products. *Wish syncing the Bluetooth on the Power Station was smoother; seems to be a glitch in their app; not a function of the power station itself. We appreciate your videos- Keep 'em coming. Again- Many Thanks

    This is really encouraging news. If the generic battery provides even 90% of the power of an EGO, and at almost half the price, it's worthy of consideration this year, especially if you are using it with an EGO mower. Should be fun to hear your impressions in a few months. Thanks! 💯💯💯

      @Marquis de Saniette thanks again for always watching, especially my EGO videos. I wasn't 100 % happy with this video's length. I realize that I really just go on and on in the end, so I cut out like 2 minutes. The changes should be live later today. Sit me down at a table, and I will talk forever. My spring video will have a lot more action. And, I am hoping to have an EGO give away in the spring as well. So keep watching.

    Unfortunately, knock off batteries usually use low quality battery cells. Same with laptop batteries. They often work okay initially but will degrade much faster than OEM. It's a real shame because high quality battery cells aren't that expensive and they could still undercut OEM significantly using them.

    I don't care about any of the morphology. I just want a battery that charges to what it's supposed to and last ! Forget how the battery feels in your hands. How things are molded or connected or weatherized or any of that.

    Nice review 👍 , personally I've never been a fan of buying generic batteries , I've had cordless power tools for over 25 years , and never trusted generic batteries , I have a 2.5 amp battery and 2-5.0 batteries plus 2 more of each the 7.5 and 10.0 amp batteries , I know that everything works in the power station , plus even in the two stage snow blower lol , but I haven't used it for snow removal , I have a feeling it would not last long , a question for you , you keep referring to the Ego battery in the beginning calling it the second generation , I always thought it was the first , and then the second are the newest version with the battery gauge , unless I am missing something , I've only been using the Ego for 4 years now , thanks for the great video , looking forward to seeing more from your channel 👍👊

      Thanks for your comment. As for your question, yes the fuel gauge ones are the third gen. I have mostly second gen batteries and have never had a first gen battery. EGO's earliest equipment looks a bit different then what I have in my videos. They made a lot of improvements. I also don't think their first gen stuff was sold nationwide.

    a few issues here, 1 that battery will not be its rated capacity. you will be lucky to get 5000mah out of a "7.5ah" stickered battery. 2 the materials matter. the EGO had patented wrapping on its cells to prolong life during charging. 3 the outer shell is very cheaply made. you will not want to drop these. be very careful. that being said, if its all you can afford for a spare battery, why not? just don't expect it to be the same as an EGO, since its performance will not be the same. fortunately we have choices right now, which is good.

    That’s one thing when a company has a Chinese or Taiwanese company make their products. They will make a knockoff of your product. Linus from the RUclips channel LTT made his screwdriver and sent the plans to a Taiwanese manufacturer and they sent the knockoff to him when they needed him to sign off on the design by accident. They will use cheaper batteries and so on. Which it might not provide the same power, the same charge and so on. As I say if you’re only saving a hundred so on bucks. I’d rather buy the ego battery.

    • @AroundTheHome1

      I have had an EGO battery go bad just recently. It went bad with only a couple of months left on the 3 year warranty. I called customer service with a short wait time. I had the serial number ready to go. They asked what was wrong and I described about the red ring and shorter runtime. They wanted me to do a runtime test with the leaf blower. I was at work, so of course I didn't have it with me. So they asked me to do it after work and call back in. I called back in with a short wait time again. They even had my file loaded up based on my phone number, so I didn't have to explain everything a second time. After giving them the runtime, they told me that they would be shipping me out a new battery and to turn the old one into a recycling center. I received the new battery in 1 week time. Now I also did two other things. I bought the battery from a certified seller, not off of Ebay or a third party on Amazon. Also I registered the warranty when I bought it.

    Ego charges a bloody fortune for garbage batteries!! Lithium prices have plummeted, so there’s no rationale whatsoever for their exorbitant fees for a battery. I can buy a top of the line 100 amp hour 48 V battery for my solar set up for 999 bucks that’s 100 amp hours at 48 V.!!!!!! That’s the equivalent of 15 ego batteries at 7.5 amp hours!! lol. Ego is a giant rip off and their batteries don’t last their total garbage.!!!

    My belief is that the company that is copying the authentic ego battery should be sued for copying their design. Since they’re probably in China it’s probably not likely to happen.
    I believe ego deserves the business. I will only purchase their batteries. I will not support knock off companies. I vote with my wallet. That’s because I have good moral integrity.
