    • @Brimania723
      @Brimania723 4 месяца назад +7

      when you finger a note it makes a step up noise and when you release a note it makes a step down noise.Its called "hammering" on and off. he is only using these hammer ons and offs to fire off this melodic fast riff that fills the whole measure as the huge drums can be very basic and create this incredible song. its basically an arpeggio in its function.

    • @andjustjizzforall
      @andjustjizzforall 4 месяца назад +1

      He actually plays it picking the notes, which is harder than using hammer ons and pull offs. If you play guitar you can easily hear how each note is actually being picked. Angus just uses one hand for the wow effect in the video. Any time playing live he uses both hands for the riff

Listen to some of their early stuff when Bon sang leads. Thunderstruck is an all time fave though, no one can stop themselves from automatically head banging to the awesome thump in this track. And that intro is iconic…you might have heard in the movie ‘Battleship’…underrated scene brilliantly soundtracked. G’day from Australia 🇦🇺

    Oh man, are you on the threshold of a rabbit hole now, if you choose to dive in! So many of their songs over the past 40+ years are high energy hits like this one. "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Jail Break", "For Those About To Rock", and so many more. The lead singer here, Brian Johnson, took over after their original lead singer, Bon Scott died, but Brian's voice was so similar when he auditioned to fill the gap that he was an easy pick for the band, and he's been with them for most of their career.

    Once when asked how he kept his voce sostrong, the frontman Brian Johnson smiled and said, " Whiskey and a pack of cigarettes a day."😁
    Brian has a unique singing voice, but his speaking voice is a really soft and pleasent Geordie accented English. He was the Frontman for a band called Geordie in the 70s. They do an amazing cover of the song "The House of the Rising Sun". Strangely enough Bon Scott picked Brian to be his replacement. Bon was watching Geordie perform and he was impressed by Brian's stage antics where he was screaming and writhing around on stage. Bon left the show and when he saw his bandmates Angus and Malcolm Young, was talking about how great Brian was. What Bon didn't know was during that convpcert, Brian's apoendix ruptured and he was writhing and screaming because of an appendicitis attack. Bon left before the ambulance came to take Brian to the hospital.
    Years later after Bon tragically died, Angus and Malcolm remembered Brian's name and asked him to audition for the band to replace Bon.

    In my hometown in Washington every late July we have boat races. Back in the day they were called thunder boats because those piston rolls royce engines made so much noise. When this song first came out a change was in the offing, they were experimenting with turbo boats. I guess that year we knew things were changing but we didn't want it to. The one turbo boat flipped and crashed and it was the last time the thunder boats dominated. The entire weekend we just put Thunderstruck on replay and it was all we listened to.

    Malcom and Angus are the younger brothers of George Young, guitarist and song writer of the famous 60s Australian band called Easy Beats. The most popular song of this band was 'Friday in my mind. Now, George wrote quite a lot of songs for AC/DC and I'm sure he provided guidance for the band on the path of success.

    When we were in HS in the 80's we didn't listen much to the music of 30 or 40 years prior. In the 2020's we are still listening to 30 to 50 year old music today and still rockin out like never before.

    The story is the 'school boy uniform' was that when he got out of school everyday he would go straight to his garage band set-up to play, not changing out his school uniform. Became his trademark.

    It absolutely warms my heart to watch a couple of folks who have enjoyed other music hear this for the first time. You're both dancing along like you've loved this kind of music all your lives. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. They have a lot of good music but Steven King also loves them. I think Maximum Overdrive was made in part just so he could play AC/DC in a movie.
