This might be the only band ever that sounds better live in concert than in the studio. You get what you see with these guys!
They’re so loud you can’t hear them but can feel you inner organs vibrating
2:28
Fun Fact for you Phil and Sam:
The bell you hear tolling in the opening of this song, they'd tried to record it from a bell in a church tower near where they were recording the album, and every time they tolled the bell, they picked up the fluttering of wings from the pigeons that had picked that spot to roost, thus ruiningthefootage, so they'd had to go to the actual bell foundry where the bells were made have one cast and the tolling you hear was the test tolling after it came out of the mold
I am always amazed when an adult of any background says "first time hearing"; Back in Black, Hells Bells or Highway to Hell, Paranoid or many other popular rock songs. Maybe first time actually paying attention to such songs, but these songs are so deeply embedded in culture, my grandparents have heard most of these songs...just unbelievable. I'm honestly curious how you become an adult human without having heard many of these songs.
Yep, First time hearing this, first time hearing Bohemian Rhapsody, or Who Are These Guys.... mind numbing
I don't understand why this idea of "never heard this" is such an underpinning of the reaction genre. I don't believe half of their protestations about not hearing the songs, not that it makes any difference, I just hate them lying about it.
The death of radio killed the opportunity of young people today to hear things that aren’t on your music streaming service. In my youth of the late 70’s and early 80’s, we all knew music from the older kids, as they played on radio stations we all were listening to. Needless to say, modern ‘music’ is created with computer enhancements, and therefore lacks technical musicianship, artistry and really sucks.
because they're lying and most if not all of these reaction channels are fake.
Especially when they start moving with the beat, before the beat gets there lol.
you can literally deep dive the entire Back in Black album. nothing but top shelf kick ass rock and roll start to finish.
unpopular opinion but i actually prefer highway to hell over back in black. both are fucking amazing albums don't get me wrong, but there's just something magic about bon scott man
@@ArtVandelay77 i don't disagree, H2H is every bit as much of a play thru album as BiB. but then again, it's not like those are the only 2 such albums from AC~DC.
My #1 all time favorite album
Malcolm and angus are the truth on the cords
When I saw them in 1980, they lead with this song and the brought down a huge bell over the stage. Awesome.
Yep, they used the giant bell on the For Those About To Rock tour as well, along with a giant cannon of course... lol
The River Plate Version is amazing. Especially with the Argentine crowd going wild.
I was in 6th grade when this album dropped. It was a seriously catchy hard rock welcome into the 1980's! Its all killer, no filler, an album full of bangers! If you ask for whom the bell tolls? It tolls for thee!
Righto, Michael .I was 22 and in college. I bought the record and it was just awesome. Nobody knew with Bon Scott dead and gone , what the new singer would be like. He really tore it up and the new material was fantastic. 😅
@@markdraine3571 Brian quickly earned his keep, right from the start!
@@markdraine3571Bon and the band knew about Brian before he died. Like it was meant to be
There was nothing like hearing AC/DC thumping loud on a killer
car system in the 80's ,especially Back in black ,it hit hard ,I sure
do miss those days!..😎
Great review & reaction you two!..🤘👍👍
Big Pioneer car audio amp, Alpine speakers across the back deck in the car, over 100 decibels. This is the reason a lot of Gen Xers say "What?" a lot now.
@@dancrabbe6423 ...😂..todays audio is bleh ,in the 80's my friends had Pile drivers 12's ,
15 inch dual voice coil Cerwin Vegas for bass ,8 inch liquid cooled Yamaha ,on 6 inch
Pile mid range & 80 watt MM tweets that hit just as hard as the base iced with Rockford
Fosgate amps an preamps with individual cross overs ,you heard every instrument that
was played! Todays systems all you here is blop blop!..🤮
Absolutely! You need to feel those vibrations with a powerful system to really appreciate AC/DC.
Watch these guys LIVE at River Plate . Studio versions and official videos pale to insignificance. The crowd is unbelievable.
one of the all time great albums
"Hell's Bell's" is term sailors used back in 1700'-1800's folklore when drowning from sinking ship they would hear hell's bell's. If you heard hell's bells you were doomed.
So For those about to rock, live at the river arena in Argentina, it's just another level
AC/DC is the definition of Rock n Roll period. 😎🤘
Definition of Stadium rock and named after a sewing machine.
Their original lead singer was Dave Evans. Bon Scott was their 2nd lead singer, and the one who took them from backwater bars in Australia to the UK and then America. Brian is the 3rd singer for ACDC.
We mustn't forget Axel Rose as number 4
AC/DC has the best fans! Well deserved. They never wrote for radio play. Just gave us pure Rock an Roll!
Think I've said this before, but listening to the studio versions 1st is best, simply for the purity of the music. Live versions are great, for the pure pleasure of seeing the artists perform. Terrific song from the "thunder from Down Under"! Thanks for your reaction.
In the beginning of this song, the bell is played out. 13 rings are rung to symbolize Bon's Scott's life.
I've had the pleasure of seeing them on 4 different concert tours and They Always put on a Great Show!!😎💯🤘🤘... And Yes,Angus Does that Throughout the Show!!! Great Reaction you guys
back in the day, when I was a teenager and watching MTV in the early 1980's, one of the things that always caught my eye about AC/DC was Angus, not just that he played lead guitar, but how he played it.
in my junior year of high school, the school hosted a talent show for the students to be in. me and a group of friends did a lip-sync/air guitar performance of AC/DC with me playing the lead guitar part, and it just wouldn't seem right if I didn't do it just like Angus did! shorts, hat and all. when I was getting ready to graduate a year later, people were still talking about our performance!
Every song is a classic! Touch To Much is a great one by them!
This is one of my favorite AC/DC songs( with Brian Johnson.).
I saw AC/DC on the Highway to Hell tour and Bon Scott one of the best unique voices in Rock! Sorely missed! I saw AC/DC on Back in Black in 1980 and For Those About to Rock We Salute You in 1981. Brian Johnson was the perfect fit for AC/DC after Bon passed. Brian was a unique voice just like Bon’s voice was unique. Love them both!
I've been an Acca Dacca fan for decades (thanks to my Australian friend for telling me about that nickname). I've always appreciated Brian not metaphorically stepping into Bon's shoes when he joined the band, he went his own way and his voice is so iconic now. RIP Bon and Malcolm 🙏
Amen!!!🙏
It is more than a nickname mate. It is basically their name back home......we don't like saying the full words people tell us to
This is from their legendary Back In Black album.
In an actual concert, they lower a giant bell to the stage!
And they swing from it!
One of the best bands live, AC/DC always delivers 👌👍
Every song is flawless on the Back In Black album, which makes sense because Mutt Lange produced it. Look up all the hit albums he’s produced sometime. It will blow your mind.
Angus always wears the school boy outfit because he was 17 when he joined the band.. So he's the youngest.
My first concert with AC/DC was with Bon Scott. It's really wild that they both have that specific sound. Great band.
Every single song on this album is worth a review. Non stop kick your face in rock n roll.
I was lucky enough to see these guys with both singers---Bon Scott and Brian Johnson. AC/DC was pure energy. Even though their songs were inspired by basic blues, they turned it up several notches and created a sound all their own. AC/DC was another band that invaded my teen years and was played almost inclusively at keggers and in high school parking lots. It was a great ride to be on. I am glad you guys are giving them their due on your wonderful channel. For a different pace, check out their song, Ride On. Keep them coming guys.
The legendary Phil Rudd on drums . . . Awesome
this song is ABSOLUTELY ROCKIN!.. i was really young when back in black came out but still remember singing the songs especially "you shook me all night long" and it irritating my older sisters.. lol
The band commissioned a one-ton bronze bell from a local foundry in Leicestershire, England, that they would also use on stage, they ended up having to record the bell at the foundry ... great reaction guys
13 bell tolls. Classic song. Incredible live❤
AC/DC always gives you fire 🔥(as Phil stated) and kick ass energy!!!!!! I remember when this album came out in 1980… one of my favorites for sure!!! They are on my bucket list to see live…. So many more “fire “ tracks to choose from…. Keep kicking ass Phil and Sam!!!!!!
You hear the bells and intro leading up to every single 3rd-down play in the NFL or NCAA...all teams play it, it's like 7 Nation Army!
Yall are making the rest sound like childs play this morning guys! lol
They also made the video "You Shook Me All Night Long" at this same location.Same clothes.same everything.Hopefully ya'll will react to that some time as well
My two faves... This one and The Jack.
Iron Maidens US tour will be in Canada on the 28th of September, they'll be in Indio at the Power Trip Festival on 6th October.
Speaking of outfits,, Angus Young's (Lead Guitarist) Sister suggested he wear his school uniform,, he did it (half jokingly) but it would become a tradition/his trademark.
The bell was made in a town called Loughborough England,a little fact for you!
This was THE album when I was 12. I had heard the Highway to Hell album from two years before and loved it. Their "Dirty Deeds" album was another banger.
I asked for more, and you guys gave it!! THANK YOU. Pick any sing off this album.
Robert Cray "Smoking Gun"...Nuff Said.
I saw them three times in the 80’s & they had this Big Ass Bell come down on stage. Epic.
They're just brilliant
Can't go wrong with any AC DC, all fire!! The Thunder from down under!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome!!! I had the privilege to see this tour and this was the first song of the concert totally fantastic!!! Please check out JUDAS PRIEST the HELLION/ELECTRIC EYE
One of my favorites! I recently gave my Back In Black album to my granddaughter and she's loving it!
Bon died and in less than 6 months they found a new singer, finished writing, recording and releasing this album.
I am so excited for you guys to do "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheep"! Thats going to be a riot to watch! Love your channel!
Love the song, it was used for Trevor Hoffmann’s intro. SD Padres reliefs pitcher.
Great Song
Great Band
Love this group. In Oz we call them acca/dacca. My grandsons were born to love them. They rocked to them as soon as they could walk 😂
Whole album is awesome.
If you want to see one of the best live performances ever caught on tape (of ANY band), you need to check out the live version of "Riff Raff" from 1978. Like you were saying though....listen to the studio version first. The live version is just unbelievably epic, and even more so when you consider that it's the OPENING SONG to the show.
Love to hear ,Gone Shooting by AC/DC
Powerage album that's my jam ahaha nice.
In honor & memory of Bon Scott 🙏❤️,, It's time you listened to his vocals,, AC/DC It's A Long Way To The Top If You Want To Rock And Roll" (Official Music Video A MUST!!)
AC/DC never misses. You should watch a later video where Brian comes down on a HUGE bell.
A Classic that never grows old !
👍👍👍🇸🇪😎💕
lead singer from newcastle uk and guitarist from scotland originally
When you get to the River Plate concert you gotta do Whole Lotta Rosie . ( I think that's the first time using gotta and lotta in same sentence)
I saw AC/DC for the Back In Black Tour in the summer of 1981 at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, IN. They opened the show with this song...and there was a huge bell that descended from the roof...and Brian was riding it! , pretending to strike it in rhythm with the song. That show was my first (and still best) rock concert memory. Fanboi moment: At one point, Angus got on Brians shoulders as Brian ran through the floor level crowd with Angus on his back, I got to touch the legendary Angus leg as he passed by, rocking out to a great guitar solo.
Angus school boy outfit came from his sister Margaret, he came home from school and went straight to guitar lessons so she Saud he should just wear the school boy outfit on stage, Margaret also came up with the name of the band she saw the letters on a sewing machine and thought it would represent the high voltage feel of the band, the first album was called T.N.T. in Australia but was renamed high voltage in america
I believe the intro gets used at stadiums for game breaks? It was also in the sound track of MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (with a young Emilio Estevez and Bart Simpsons voice, among others)
As a sophomore in high school, i first heard Shoot To Thrill which was the first single off of Back in Black (at least here). Never heard of ac/dc before but i knew i had to buy this album. It was my favorite album without a single soft spot or filler. Amazing. I saw them live soon thereafter where they opened with the big impressive Hell's Bell. It was an amazing start that carried all thru the concert. Also amazing. My vote for next song of course is the official Shoot To Thrill video 😊
AC DC are hook masters
Best concert ever been to was acdc
The best way to watch AC/DC is any song live at River Plate in 2009. It's insane. Start with Hells Bells first live at River Plate then next Highway to Hell as Angus comes up from *under* the stage with smoke as if coming up from Hell. Next at River Plate should be Whole Lotta Rosie.
I just brought a 75 inch Samsung, not to brag or anything it's the only thing I've allowed myself to indulge in for years and I did it especially to watch the river plate concert again 😁🇦🇺 ACCA DACCA
@@russe19642 I don't blame you! I bet it's amazing on such a big TV. Watching football as well!
A true head banger if there ever was one. It will have you tappin' a toe, bobbin' to the rhythm, without your ever thinking about it.
First time I heard this all I could imagine was the final battle between St. Michael and Lucifer

Hey, Sam, in reference to Angus' schoolboy uniform that hhe wears as part of the act. That goes back to when they werw starting out, Angus would oftentimes go to rehearsal straight after school without even changing out of his school uniform and his sister actually made schoolboy uniform outfits for him regarding this as he'd eventually graduate to wearing normal clothes on-stage.
Also, the band got their name from the AC/DC plug on the back of their sister's sewing machine and not realizing that AC/DC was also a slang term for bisexuality
I'd love to see Phil & Sam in a convertible on a highway rockin some AC/DC
Best Intro to any rock song ever. Used to listen to just the first 50 seconds before going out and playing Hockey. Love this Intro.
🎸🎸🔥ACDC🔥🎸🎸
I WENT TO AN ACDC CONCERT MANY YEARS AGO AND IS WAS AWESOME!!!!!
"Back In Black" album was filmed in The Bahamas
I thought Bon Scott was Irreplaceable and he was but Brian did one hell of a job ! Match made in heaven or hell not sure ! Solving piecewise 81 and 82 in the Cow Palace San Francisco. I'm 59 years old now and still digging it thanks for exploring all this new music to you guys
Picture driving your Camaro in 1980 and blasting this with your Jensen Triaxial speakers . Everybody was blaring the Back in Black album back in the day .
Have to balance it with your Blaupunkt equalizer.
I would love to see a video of AC/DC🔥 hearing Brian Johnson sing when they were auditioning for a singer to replace Bon Scott.💯 I wonder how long he sang before they all said yeah, he's the one!🤗❤️✌️
Angus Young (lead guitar) always wears the school boy outfit. It’s his trademark, like Slash & his stove top hat.
Your hair is beautiful! And this song is awesome! My name is Kellee so guess what my friends called me? Kell's Bells.. LOL
It is a song that was played when Trever Hoffman made his entrance to pitch to save the game. He played for the San Diego Pardres
Highway to hell, when AC/DC was in the US first time traveling to California though the desert they came up with Highway to hell. Angus talked about it on TV once.
Great reaction Sam and Phil! The live videos are fire also.
Love this band saw them 4 times, you really need to see them with there original singer, Bon Scott
I saw ACDC on this tour 1980 I think, get show!!
Great show
You can see at the beginning of the video while the bell chimes… angus having a hard time standing still. He knows what’s about to happen. 😊💥
Highly recommend T.N.T and Shoot To Thrill! 🙏🙏
Love this AC/DC rabbit hole ! 😊❤
If you guys have ever heard it before or not thanks for reacting to the songs of my generation, the greatest music generation of all time.
First time seeing AC/DC they were the opening act at a “Day on the Green “ Oakland Stadium. 1978. VH, Pat Travers, Foreigner, Aerosmith. Angus & Bon got on the shoulders of roadies and went into the crowd wile playing. Super fun for a young teenager knucklehead drummer rocker kid Hahaha
Aaaaaaaaaaa is HELLS BELLS!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They are the epitome of rock solid no holes sound...they mastered that..
You need to watch this live too!
Interesting little piece of information the bells in the song were recorded at Bon Scott funeral For Whom does the bell toll it talks for the my friend as they set him off to hell😢😢😢
'Shoot To Thrill' would be my next request..yes, it's on Back in Black, and the tune is such a rocker. Fast paced and just a great rock and roll sound to party with!🎸
ACDC | Let There Be Rock Reaction live at River Plate .... you will love it 🤘
You should react to a live version of FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK. I've seen them multiple times and that song and "effects", shall we say, was always my favorite part.
I be always liked the way Angus’ solos seem to fit within the song . Some
Lead guitarists play solos outside or on top of the song. The song “she’s got balls” doesn’t even have a solo because he didn’t think the song needed it.
I think the band must have done all the videos for this album in one day in the same warehouse.
