I've played the V3 in several rounds and noticed less ballooning with the driver and increased distance over the V2 and still got good spin with irons and approach. The launch was more of a mid launch where the V2 was higher. I really like the V3 and will definitely put it in the rotation. I got 21 holes with one ball and had a VERY minor scuff on the dimples where it hit a tree.
Whenever one wants to test their driving skills, the best tee shot to hit from is hole 1 on Sanctuary! Seems like this is the only hole where I can drive it over 300 yards! Keep up the great content!!!
Thank you for doing this video. I just ordered the new Gen 2 wedges and 2 dozen balls. They came in today and I thought I got the original balls by mistake. I had no idea that there was a new product out!
My local Costco doesn’t have them in stock so my experience is with the V1 & V2. I play three to four times a week and strictly play the Costco ball and been doing so for years. I do a lot of traveling and always play some golf. I try to play as nice of a course as I can afford so I pull the Pro V1s out of storage. What can I say? I am cheap. For short wedge shots nothing works better than a Costco ball. The longer the club gets, the more distance you loose but the stopping power is amazing. The driver is the biggest problem, you loose some significant distance, specially if you are hitting into the wind. For me is about 15+ yards. The cover holds up fairly well as long as I don’t hit the cart path or some other object. It is not as durable as a Pro V1, but not bad. My two cents.
100%! Version 2 was great for greenside play. Easily impress your buddies with a one hop stop greenside wedge shot! If you like this version, you’re gonna love the v3. The cover is easily on par with the best balls now. Thanks for the comment!!!
I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t a big reason I never got too worked up on the old Kirkland cover! I’m pretty good at hooking a ball off the planet!!
I went through a stage where I was a ranger at a golf club, and I got into being a golf ball hunter. That on top of living on a golf course now, I couldn't use all the balls I have now in three lifetimes. So, even for me, the Kirklands are a poor value. $0/dozen vs. $14/dozen.
It might have spun a little less, but as I point out in the video, I think most of the variation I saw was my own strike variability. I honestly thought they were very comparable, other than the cover of course.
I typically play a single ball for an entire round. I bought the V3 to try out and I found I had to replace the ball after each round. They were cut after 15-16 holes. My 60 deg seem to do the most damage. But nothing major, very minor. I like these balls. The price is great, and the green side control is better than expected. My wedge shots check up much more easily than with other balls in this price range. Driving distances are not much different than with a Pro V. I like them, and will keep a box in the bag.
Ball definitely feels harder than the previous model. Putting was a struggle for me with it. Felt like I had to put a lot of power into it to get it the same distance as my Bridgestone or ProV1. Still can’t beat the value, I’ll just have to keep that in mind when putting
This test doesn’t encourage me to go looking for V3. I don’t terrorize balls with my wedges but tend to bruise them occasionally. I have played V2 and the previous issues since they became available. V2 is an 84 compression ball, what are the new V3s ? 84 is high enough for my swing speed.
I’ve thought about investing in equipment to check compression but I don’t have that capacity right now. And for the record, v2 scuffs very easily. V3 is a huge cover improvement. I used the ball in the test for another month with no noticeable scuffing which is a LOT better. Thanks for reaching out!!
On version 2 I averaged ~2100 RPM which is a bit low for the driver I was using but I think was very much strike related. On the new ball I averaged -2600 RPM which is bang on the number I’m trying to achieve. My driver is set up to specifically hit that rate of backspin. If you were trying to hit a low 2000s backspin, I honestly believe with the correct driver you’d have no trouble hitting those numbers. Hope this helps! Thanks for reaching out!
@@TheGolfNerd and the wedge rates were similar to v2? BTW, I picked up a box last week ($27.99) and played them in a scramble tournament. I too thought the cover seemed more durable. Thanks for the test.
@@rodrich1644 My pleasure!! And yes, my experience was the spin rates were basically the same. I've seen some others reporting different results, and it's possible that my variation in strike is causing me to see similar results?!?! Given the interest in the topic, I was thinking of putting together a video comparing the Kirkland V3 to Pro V1, TP5X, and Vice Pro Tour. Is that something you would find interesting?
@@HausOfPain rick shiels does a comparison to the pro v1, without being disrespectful but he will have a more consistent ball strike then this RUclipsrs and rick found spin and even distance almost the same, go see for yourself.

How was it in the wind? A lot of people found it didn’t do so well into the wind.
@@icehounddigital I haven't had a chance to play it in the wind yet. Might tee me up again in a few weeks.
I AGREE THE COVER HAS BEEN IMPROVED. I played version #3 four rounds and noticed the cover has improved.

I only learned by chance myself! They didn’t market this at all. As for the balls, I’ve only continued to find them very impressive!

I’d love to hear what you think after getting a chance to try them. I really liked version 2, but I like the new one even better.

new version looks good. I had zero complaints about V2. Just another question, what hitting strip are you using?
That’s the bullseye golf sim hitting strip. Highly recommend. Video review here:

Just to make you aware when "my golf spy" tested the compression for the V2 it was 94 compression not 84, they've not tested compression on V3 yet.
Just bought 96 of these bad boys so hoping your review is positive!!!
btw went to a wedding at this course, and that first tee shot is the scariest thing ive seen in my life :P
I bet!!!
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
which software are you using with the mevo+? is that e6?
This software is GS Pro. I’ve got several videos demonstrating it. It’s fantastic. Thanks for the question!
It’s 27$ in the store and 35 online I just went to Costco yesterday here in Ohio and they were 27
That’s great news!! Thanks for the heads up!!
Always found Kirkland too short, I don't get on with them, feel OK around the greens but not a ball for me.
A lot of golfers have found the new version to be much better for distance. Might be worth a try!
Do we know when these are coming out in yellow ?
I have not seen any timing info on the yellow ball. Hopefully it’ll be available in time for fall when I like using a high visibility ball!
V2 and V3 are the same price. In store both were $27.99, online they are $34.99 but that is including $7 shipping.
Thanks for the info! Glad to hear they are already in stores!
That sucks , in Maui v2 is $19 and v3 is $28 😂

Was there a distance difference
I didn’t see one. It seemed to perform very similar but the cover was just much much better. Thanks for reaching out!!
They are on sale now for Father's Day
Great heads up!!! Thanks!
