  • This video is about 2017 Ford Superduty 70,000 Mile Review. I actually have 68,000 miles on it. I go over some of the little items I wish were different, I talk about reliability, and then I spend most of the time talking about what I like about the truck.
Hope this video helps some people out who are considering a 2017+ Super Duty.

Liked your assessment. My '17 Super Duty 6.7 Lariat has turned 216,000 mi. and still looks and drives like new. Could not be happier (knock on wood... haha).

Very good review... I have a 19 250 same color with 22000 miles on it and I'm very happy. I usually get 19 to 20 on hwy and frwy... about 15 to 17 running around los angeles and the san Fernando valley. Your truck looks great.

Great review. I mostly have the same truck, same year. Only using mine for towing, so have $14k on it. One thing frustrating to me about quality was the oil pan leak many owners have had, mine was replaced last month. (made it free oil change). Sad you are selling as i plan to keep mine the next 10-15 years.

Oil change every 3 million might be pushing it a little... :)

I think if you live in Iowa instead of STL, gas might be a better option. 13k miles out of 68k miles are tow miles. I do love the pulling power of the 6.7. 50k on my 2015 gasser. Mileage sucks but maintenance is cheaper. Love the videos, great info.

Always enjoy your honest review/opinions. Question how has the emission system held up? Any issues when is goes into regen?

Good video as always, since you’re going to get a dually and you’re about to go to a ten speed and potentially different rear end gear you should watch videos by big truck big RV this guy knows about dually’s and trade ins with diesel trucks

Thank you for the tip. I love JD videos on BTBRV. I rarely miss an episode. I especially liked his videos talking about why he picked a F450 over the F350. Helped me form my decision on my F350. :) Once I get my truck I will explain my thought process for going "against the grain" in getting the 350. Thanks again!

Never had a problem with my 2017 locks. Go from 70° garage to -50° outside here in interior Alaska. Still using original batteries.

What i cant believe is that ford came out with a door latch recall on my 2016 f150in 2017. Then i had the same recall on my 2018 f350. It is the same cab. It would obviously have the same problems, but somehow that made it past the engineers. I havent got the recall done. It hasnt given me an issue yet, just like the rest of the truck. 70000 miles trouble free

    I have a question please.
Any difference in noise and fuel mileage after switching form Michelin‘s to Cooper’s.

Still watching your videos! I got some recalls in the mail today for my super duty. They are for the carpet needing replacement, the tailgate issue, and a scary one some kind of steering wheel damper replacement warning? What I wanted to ask you, as a first time truck driver, I want to know if I need this warranty work done for the damper? My truck bounces/hops a little on certain parts of the freeway here. Some of that road looks like it has cracks and imperfections. I have the factory ranch on shocks if that matters. Is the hopping normal since it’s a 3/4 ton truck? It runs really smooth in the city and most freeways it doesn’t hop

Thank you! I hear ya on the recalls. I took care of my carpet recall when they did my last lock fix and the tailgate recall. The steering damper is to address the dreaded death wobble. If you don't know what death wobble is you don't have it. It's when the tires on a solid front axle truck react in a very bad way to a bump in the highway or expansion joints. It can be so violent than the driver needs to slow down to 10 or 20 miles per hour. Some people get it all the time...most people never get it. The solution Ford has come up with is a new horizontal shock to better control the movement. I have heard on the 2020's this problem has been addressed in a big way and the fix they came up with on the 2020s is being applied to the 2017-2019's.

Adventuring Today Thanks for the response! So it sounds like they wouldn’t replace the part unless I experience the issue? Or can I tell the dealership I want it replaced? The notice says the warranty was extended for that part. It doesn’t say bring it in to repair.

    • @AdventuringToday
      @AdventuringToday  4 года назад

The question you have is a good one. This is the difference between a recall (where they are asking you to bring it in for a fix...tailgate or carpet issue) vs a field service action like on the door locks or this steering damper. If a customer says I have been experiencing what is in this damper field service action then they will replace it. If you don’t complain or state you are having a problem they typically won’t proactively do anything. You have to bring it up when you take your truck in for them to do it.

    "Super fuel efficienct"
Not sure if I just missed it in the video, but what does that translate to for mpg? City and highway both please! (Thank you).
I love the design of the 2017 and newer F- 250s. I've been thinking about buying a used one in a year or so when prices come back down, to use as a secondary vehicle. It's hard to find accurate information on mpg for highway though - even off of the websites that track this data.

My combined is 21mpg (22+ on highway) and I drive it very conservatively.

Not too many issues. The complainers make the most noise, lots of them on the road with no problems.

You are smart to trade it at your mileage. The CP4 is a ticking time bomb on those and the reason I went with the Duramax that uses a Denso HPFP. There are many pending law suits on this issue. GM used the CP4 from 2011 to 2016 and they were a disaster. RAM used the CP4 in 2019 and 2020 and now after failures have gone back to the CP3. Lift pumps and fuel additives will not stop the CP4 from failing. ruclips.net/video/nPFPf2EpxkE/видео.html

Ah a classic. Those old trucks are pieces of shit. Lower numbers across the board. Worse tow numbers, worse mpg. Worse interior. Like bruh you buy what you want but bruh, you can just remove the emissions on the newer ones and guess what. Better then any of those old shit boxes.

Actually the entire time I owned this truck I pulled a 11,000 lb travel trailer that put the truck way over its rated payload. It did a lot more work than going to the grocery store. I should have bought a F350.
