    I miss the independent reviews TFL used to do. These factory demos not only limited what you can do while testing vehicles, but limit what information you have/film/print. As comprehensive as your reviews once were, I expected TFL to be the first to publish mpg's for these trucks.

    My uncle has used his 99 f250 with 6 inch lift v10 to tow, do jumps with up to like 8 feet of air and drive through water deeper than any daily driver I've ever seen do. I'm not even strictly a ford fan but after years of that it is still running good at over 200k miles

    • @jaysson1151
      @jaysson1151 8 лет назад +20

      People who doesn't need to tow anything heavier than 8 tons and may occasionally carry something heavy in the bed that the diesel-equipped F250 is not rated for.

    • @alexanderrtharpe
      @alexanderrtharpe 8 лет назад +5

      and still have far less power and at that point spend more on gas. 900+ pounds of torque out of the box with the diesel. don't even pretend that a gas supercharged could compare.

    • @kirkmccoy9729
      @kirkmccoy9729 7 лет назад +23

      Diesel so overrated. As a diesel tech I can make that statement. Unless you're towing super heavy diesel is a waste of money. Going to weigh more as well. So for instance if you want to put a camper in the bed of your truck you have to account for the engine weight in your GVWR.... that means it takes about 400 pounds away from your load. Also more $$$ to maintain. Diesel is great... but most guys running around in diesels... I've never seen tow anything. They think it's a status symbol when really you are just letting the rest of us know.... how stupid you really are.

    • @jaysson1151
      @jaysson1151 7 лет назад +1

      Kirk Williams You got that right. Won't buy a diesel again unless i absolutely need it, offered a crazy deal that i can't resist, diesel becomes dirt cheap again or just filthy rich lol.

    2017/2018 regular cab long bed 4x4 XLT Ford F250 with the 6.7 liter powerstroke is the one you guys should test in the future, it's the best value proposition aswell as by far the highest performance and most capable both in respect of utility and offroad prowess. One would have to tick the right boxes to ensure it is the 'Right' one but that is the case with all pickups.

    I have an Ford Explorer and when idling it automatically shuts off after 15 minuets if you dont manually disable it does this truck do that? Also when you get out of it with the key fob in your pocket when it is running (say you forgot something in your house and had to grab it) it honks at you twice, which can get extremely annoying, does this truck do that as well?

If you are serious about getting one of these trucks you'll know the details already too...especially if you're dumb enough to pay that 68k sticker

    Def is why I'm going gas over diesel. I only tow 8k anyways and only about 2k payload. I just think the f250 handles it better than my silverado 1500 did beside I slipped my order in with a fleet purchase and got a white 2017 f-250 4x4 crew cab short bed XL for 27k yes it had crank windows and no it doesn't have cruise control but msrp on this truck was 40k. I was gonna buy a dodge 3500 6.7l for 50k but for half the price I'm happy with my choice.

      +Eric Fortune yup what really blows my mind is the 2017 6.7L diesel, holy S**t 925lb/ft😮 of torque, you call tow almost as much as a semi truck with all that twisting power.

    It blows my mind that ford hasn't made a high performance SD truck yet but they'll make a 10spd, twin-turbo, Fox performance baja truck. The SD's ride technology is old an outdated while Dodge has switched to rear coils which rides great compared to leafs and can handle nearly as much weight. Also not offering a IFS is silly, now days they are super reliable and offer such a nice ride. Now i get it, if I want a nice ride get a F150 but I tend to tow in the 20,000lb range which I don't wanna push on a F150. Simply put a SD with IFS and a rear coil link suspension would ride and tow beautifully and ride like a caddy, kinda. I've checked the towing specs on Chevys and Dodges and they are equal to or close to fords depending on what model. Can ya'll imagine a 8spd or 10spd SD with a twinturbo charged 5.0 or 6.2, or the 5.2 running a IFS with rear coils and fox shocks!? It'd be pricey but fox coilovers front and back would be insane and I would buy that instantly, and I'm sure other would too. Before anyone loses their mind some spies have reported ford 2017 SD models will come later with a 10spd and either a 5.0 or a H.O. ecoboost 3.5, and if ford is willing to go to a smaller motor that means that the towing is the same as the 6.2 and thempg must be the same or better.

      Ecoboost 3.5 litre with the twin turbo gets almost the same torque as a diesel, unfortunately petrol and diesel costs will still bite into your wallet. Would be interesting and better if the Ecoboost engine can maintain the same torque and power in CNG/LPG?

    • @strokinbaby965
      @strokinbaby965 8 лет назад +8

      +zbudda the diesel makes over 900 ft lbs... the ecoboost isn't even close.

      +zbudda torque or hp?

    • @zbudda
      @zbudda 8 лет назад +7

      +IDITURBO The Ecoboost 3.5 lire makes 420 ft lbs, compared to the gas 6.2 V8 that makes 405 ft lbs. Obviously no match for a 6.7 litre power stroke with 860 ft lbs.

    • @strokinbaby965
      @strokinbaby965 8 лет назад

      Miguel Perez the diesel has 440 hp while the eco boost has 365 hp. I will say the eco boost is very strong.

      Yep. The 2017 Super Duty uses the same cab and interior components as the 2015-2017 F-150. Plenty of room in the crew cab.

    • @CR500R
      @CR500R 8 лет назад

      +The Fast Lane Car Hi guys, about the cab... is it shorter height wise? I believe it is. with my superduty I don't have to duck my head as I get in and out, but when I tried a 2016 F-150, the interior height seemed real short. With the older style superduties, you could be a big guy with a tall cowboy hat, no problem. But I'm not thinking so with these 2017 superduties.

      +John Bellhouse have you sat in the new F-150 supercrews? they made them larger than before. I sat in a 2015 F-250 and my 2015 150 put it to shame. maybe you'll have the legroom?
