Her computer desk setup is clean... NOW. You get all kinds of stuff in there in no time and ain't nobody got time to clear that out every time. Also, art projects usually mean paints, glue and many other possible contaminants, you really don't want any of that around the computer.

As a contractor/handyman, I've always been impressed by the things you've built. This is awesome, it came out perfect. It's hard to explain the amount of work that goes into doing something like this. You guys nailed it. The bed is so cool. You didn't take the easy route of just folding it back. So this is extra special that it's yours. Congrats on all your success. You can truly do anything.
I also was curious why but it's harder to have a bed "made" when it folds up against the wall. With the amount of space behind it, she probably could have gotten away with that but decided to go the route of making it raise/lower with the pulleys. Interesting way to build it for sure.
I’m literally crying but I don’t know why, maybe seeing my dream room perfected actualized, maybe the fact that Marina’s dream room is ALSO my dream room, maybe cause I still remember your office art basement lol. I know that Martina is off the deep end of arts and crafts, but using a gigantic Viking shield to trace an arch is just on a completely different level. I love it.
for the room size, that is the best setup I've ever seen by far! every miniscule detail is so impressive. Actually, a riser desk for the computer to stand and work is one mark off perfection, but that doesn't matter to a lot of people. The pulldown bed or sofa and conversion to the ultimate gaming setup is something I now desperately want to do myself. Just wow.

Having two desks is great, not just for laziness. Having different spaces for different tasks is great for a different headspace, even if it's just a different wall. Outstanding build and video! Love seeing you do builds you really benefit from.
I have 2, one to put mess and stuff on (and a few anime figures) and the other to work on. It’s kinda in a L shape. I always have a million sheets of paper and notebooks stacked
If you do switch, you will need to replace the delrin pulleys with metal. I put quite a bit of thought into this while planning the hanging of my 11 foot Star Trek Enterprise hero prop in the garage. Probably will be the same weight as your bed. You tube vids of people making various heavy systems all go with wire cables.
What I love most about this setup is that, I watched a lot of tiny house videos because I love how cozy they are but I don't think I want to live in a real tiny house. This video gives an amazing example how I could incorporate those ideas in a regular size house/room.
Gorgeous. Perhaps you could alter the top drawers so that the front and side comes down when you slide them out or alter the table top so you can access the top drawers from above, through the table, like having those parts of your table top able to be lifted up when needed?
To make the top drawers more useful, I would cut the drawer face down to be just a small lip to keep things from falling out. Then, it is basically a pull out shelf, making it almost as useful as the rest of the drawers.
@@clockworkmonsters8590& @Joe___R : I like both suggestions. is it possible to pull the drawer out then flip another handle up and slid the rest out again at a right angle?
The dog sleeping on the steps was the best part of the video. 10/10 content. Also - this was a LOT OF work so the celebratory dance at the end was necessary. Crazy good job. Would love to do a medieval/Elder Scrolls/ASOIAF themed room like this for myself. The room I have is similar in size but an odd shape.
As a wood worker/joiner, i especially liked the stairs to the bed, and the side shelve for the canvas. Those were pretty neat space-savers. Even if getting into the bed looked kind of awkward because of the height of the room. That added utility space under the stair is quite a lot.

@10:03 Small suggestions: 1- make the front side of the drawer to be flippable.... OR : 2- remove the left side board of that top drawer, move the drawer rail to the top , now when u open u will have at least more space in and out.. you can strengthen the left side if needed by doing it as one peice of frame and add another rail to the drawer bottom to hold the weight.
Thought about what you can do with the drawer that opens below the counter: You could detach the front and reattach it with a piano hinge at the bottom. Then put some catches at the top to lock it into the closed position
Why not put a couple hinges on the front panel of the top drawer so the front will open down and you can put stuff in from the front instead of the side?
I really like the pulldown bed above the table idea! It's a gerat way to combine the "empty space" requirements of 2 parts of the room into 1. (empty space above the table, so you have good access to whatever you have there, and empty space above the bed, so you can get in the bed)
Hansi is so cute, always happy to be helping and making your guys' spaces exactly the way you want. It's just so cute how much he supports you and your guys' life together.
Really good use of space. Making the room bigger with more light is a good move. The only thing that we're wondering about is why the acoustic panels are above the bed/mattress? Wouldn't it do more if you placed some under the bed and thereby also hid the bed slats? In its all, it's a great build.
You could put a shelf in place of the top drawer under your desk. I'd also cover the under side of the bed with the same slat panels you put in above it.
Hi! I think the same about the art desk…use, remove, clean…..it takes away the desire to do something. When I was a child my bed was also up, and down was my space for reading and things (it did not move) and now in my own house I make a big bookcase, it reaches the ceiling, I adore books, it has a space behind for big things, like your space for cancases. Congratulations your room is so great!🎉😊
this is def one of your most amazing projects so far! Planning out an actual ROOM with so many things that are intended for double usage is soooo hard to do! you guys are amazing 🩷 A small tip for that one drawer that got too close to the top to actually be functional: We had the same problem here at home, and what we did was basically get rid of the front part of the drawer, so it works as a small open cabinet that you can store books, notebooks etc!
You could make it so that the railing on the bed folds down so that you could still have your legs over the side if you wanted for gaming and movies and stuff(but it would obviously have a lock on it like the bed does so it doesnt just fall down)
It's soo good! I'm also a time optimist, getting into ridiculously big projects that take way longer than I thought all for the sake of optimizing efficiency and accessibility because also lazy 😂 I hate shuffling things around and want all my tools and materials easily accessible with good esthetics and LEDs of course. Glad to know there are others with the same affliction 💜
Martina hide your mistakes by taking your top drawers out, and turning them into shelves then put the drawer fronts back on with hinges so they still look like drawers but are really sneaky shelves!
For the top drawer, you could remove the drawer and make it a shelf. Not easy to access but you can keep things there you barely need, so it's less annoying to climb under the desk to fish them out
That final result is incredible. It really has a sense of enclosure, and everything is designed for function and form. You really made no compromises here!
Buy two desks, so you can also have a messy desk that you never clean and a work desk so you don’t feel bad about your room being a mess. Anyway, on a more serious note, your work is incredible as usual. I am incredibly jealous of your pull down bed despite not wanting to sleep above the floor.
I hope that when you bring in the white cryptic clothes set, you will also bring back the black cryptic set, I have been saving up some money and, as a more practical and messy person, I would loveee to have a black one!:)
"I suffer from a chronic condition called Laziness", If you actually were lazy Martina, you would not have this RUclips channel and do all of the amazing projects that you do.
Inspired by your previous video on the wizard study room, I wanted to turn my room into a fantasy crafting studio. I've been doing this planning for the previous two months. I've planned almost anything. And I was just going to start building that studio in the next three days. And then you dropped this masterpiece. Now what am I supposed to do? 🙆♂️🙆♂️😬😬
Love this. It reminds of your old videos when you guys did more home projects like that secret room. I too made a room that's my gaming/TV/art... but changed to office due to COVID room. I too used Ikea furniture for the legs of the desk. I even ran into the exact same problem you have with not getting much access to the top drawer under the table top. I swapped it out for shelves and a door. You guys can go that extra mile of using the drawer fronts as the door, so it doesn't change the aesthetics.
Such an amazing transformation and love it - such a great place to be productive in - sleep is productive if you need it, gaming and movies are great inspiration for art and such a 'peaceful' room to focus or relax in.... The longer you're gone, the more we think 'What the hell is Martina's next project if it's taking this long must be huge/amazing!' and then its bigger and more amazing than we expected!!... We'll watch as often or as infrequent as Projects take!!
I'm always so excited for these builds, I'm living vicariously through your wonderful work! I wonder if you could modify the top drawers with a hinge so they could hinge open to help get things in and out of it easier (like more canvas storage)
Upside down Martina is not the energy I expected, but it is what was needed. 😆 That is an amazing transformation of that room! Somehow you always find a way to make your ideas work, and that's inspiring.
I see you discovered the "Löwenzahn" bed for yourself (because its similar to the bed Peter Lustig builds for himself in the TV series Löwenzahn). My one reservation with the setup of this kind of bed, as cool as it is, is the possibility of one of its parts breaking and the whole thing falling down, so I'd be far too afraid to keep expensive stuff, like computers, under there.
I think she has physical stops there, that prevent the bed from going further down. 🤗😇 I did worry about the monitor at the beginning, but it looks fine now, from a different angle. I don't love that you see the underside of the bed /slats - maybe she could cover that up with not see trough fabric, so it's still breathable? That's only the perfectionist in me though, the rest looks so amazing and definitely her style. 😎🤣
Martina: I completely understand the problem estimating time needed to accomplish, well, anything. I have ADHD, and one of my symptoms is called "Time Blindness." It's an actual phenomenon that a lot of creative people have to deal with, as we tend not to account for travel time, preparation time, the duration of a given task, or cleanup time with any accuracy. However, I do have a wonderful wife who regularly gives me reminders about budgeting time; from the video, it sounds like Hansi tries to help you out in the same way.
OMG i need you to redesign my office/ garage room. I guess I need to start by throwing a bunch of stuff out. The finishings are amazing, primed and clear coats, caulking and the lighting. You didn't give up.

If you are going to do pulleys, you really need to be using wire cable, not rope. The issue is not just the friction, it is the ropes stretching.

Congratulations your room is so great!🎉😊
this is def one of your most amazing projects so far! Planning out an actual ROOM with so many things that are intended for double usage is soooo hard to do! you guys are amazing 🩷
A small tip for that one drawer that got too close to the top to actually be functional: We had the same problem here at home, and what we did was basically get rid of the front part of the drawer, so it works as a small open cabinet that you can store books, notebooks etc!
18:35 they way the doggo climbed up all because they wanted to be closer to you put a smile on my face. So heartwarming 🥰
Estimations: You have the same problem of every software project.
BUT
Trancing arcs with a sheild: most awesome thing ever!
Haha, yeah! I'm glad someone noticed that too!
this is actually the coolest thing ive ever seen, that space was optimized so well and i adore how you can look out the window while you do art.
It looks out of this world. So clean and so nice.
Legit the best use of space. It's not just used for 1 or 2 things, but for 4. Amazing!!
Buy two desks, so you can also have a messy desk that you never clean and a work desk so you don’t feel bad about your room being a mess.
Anyway, on a more serious note, your work is incredible as usual. I am incredibly jealous of your pull down bed despite not wanting to sleep above the floor.
Gosh this layout is so perfect. That whole concept with the bed hanging over the pc is just so awesome
I hope that when you bring in the white cryptic clothes set, you will also bring back the black cryptic set, I have been saving up some money and, as a more practical and messy person, I would loveee to have a black one!:)
I second this! I have the crop sweater and LOVE IT SO MUCH. And I now pine for the joggers lol.
for the moving bed you could use the modern standing desk motors that pushes them up and down there should be some for your weight amount :)
Music at 7:40 instantly brought me back to the last coffee machine video with Martina dancing to Martina working
Thank you, now I can't get that image out of my head
love what you did with the space
OMG your Swedish impression @7:30 is so spot on! Very Göteborg sounding
What I really like about these videos is the setup, Martina’s hair dye, and the final results. So beautiful😌
I'm in love with their room builds. It's amazing inspiration for the kind of rooms I love. It's so hard to find nerdy room builds
Hansi watching Martina slowly doing over every room in the house :P
I bet someday they end up building the outside as a castle as she always dreamed.
Good way to keep all furniture as company expenses ;-)
I suppose Hansi also got a room - so I would love to see it made also
This us just an awesome idea and outcome. Looks like a dream room.
the amount of aesthetics is off the chart ...the end result is so totally worth it
Such an amazing transformation and love it - such a great place to be productive in - sleep is productive if you need it, gaming and movies are great inspiration for art and such a 'peaceful' room to focus or relax in....
This is so inspiring. Now I wanna rearrange my room…..again…and I have to applaud your choice in Great British Bake Off. It’s so good!
Saving this video to show my wife. This is pretty much the kind of setup i want to create in my studio/her library/our gaming room.
Proper surround home theater set up, u earn my up most respect. Subscribed.
Upside down Martina is not the energy I expected, but it is what was needed. 😆
That is an amazing transformation of that room!
I did worry about the monitor at the beginning, but it looks fine now, from a different angle.
I don't love that you see the underside of the bed /slats - maybe she could cover that up with not see trough fabric, so it's still breathable?
That's only the perfectionist in me though, the rest looks so amazing and definitely her style. 😎🤣
Well done. The result is amazing. Love the ambience with the lights out. I think I need more LEDs.
I'm surprised you didn't have a fantasy themed room already 😂
Is that rhetorical, or sarcastic, or simply don't know?
@@shmaxohuh🤨
@shmaxo ?
Rhetorical I guess
that is just the coolest thing i’ve seen in a while 😭 it was so thoroughly satisfying and inspiring to watch, you rock 💕💕💕
I am incredibly jealous of your room! So cute and functional!
You should add hinges to the drawer faces for the drawers stuck sideways under the desk. That way, you can access the full drawer.
OMG i need you to redesign my office/ garage room. I guess I need to start by throwing a bunch of stuff out. The finishings are amazing, primed and clear coats, caulking and the lighting. You didn't give up.
This is amazing and so inspiring as a fellow artist/gamer! Love the aesthetic and the lighting!! So much storage and looove the canvas storage!!!
Love it sooooooo much when nerd forge posts
