    Excellent, to the point, instructional information! Thinking about one of these beasts. Seem very unreliable overall added to the pricey maintenance. I read up on fuel in US due to the constant problems with exhaust. Seems many problems with the Cat systems come (IMHO) from low cetane rating (40 to 45) of generally all diesel fuel. Add a conditioner, boost the cetane up, burns hotter, less particulates overall, engine combusts more efficiently everyone much happier. But another expense to keep the air clean & your truck running. Recommended oil change 7 to 10k. Again even the synthetics have tough time going that long without degradation. I think I personally would waste the money and go 5k at the most. Not practical for over the road but seems city driving harder on these babies as they are not being worked. Anyway thanks for the great video my friend. Your good, keep'em coming.

      Damn you'd think after 15 + years ford could do a better job with that turbo hoes and that fuel tank. I remember these issues back in the mid 2000's with our GE Fleet work trucks . Ford kept dropping the ball that GE switched over to RAM .

      Nice to meet a fellow linguist. It does sound funny. I wonder if he is in Canada? By the way, do you have one of these? I looked at one today with 107,000 miles. Its an 2017 XL package. He wants $46,000 for it. It has a flat textured black 8’ metal bed in place of a standard truck bed. There is a gooseneck hitch down inside. People brag about these trucks and others complain about the maintenance, cost of fuel and the aluminum body. I would appreciate your insight. Thanks

    2017 ford f350 6.7L fx4 crew scorpion diesel always on duty...reporting at 74,000 miles with only basic maintenance in my own garage. Tows our 10,000 lbs. rv trailer twice a month in the Nevada desert and neighboring state.
    Note ford diesel owners:
    Bring your ford diesel to a dealer to have your engine block heater(if comes with factory) replace for free...(recall issues).

    So what mileage do these issues usually arise? Looking at a 2017 F350 for my dad with just over 80k miles… He’s had a 1999 8.1L Chevy forever, I have a 2015 Ram 2500 diesel with 145k miles and definitely never had issues like these top 5 for the Ford. Still on original belt, pulleys, intake, gas tank, etc…
    Wound hate to spend 40k on a used truck and have these issues happen soon after.

      Wasn't always the case. Back during the Obama administration, we had this thing called "cash for clunkers" which was a complete failure. A family friend of mine was working for a dealership and when vehicles came in from that program, they had to destroy the engines which didn't exactly help people who couldn't afford new cars. Anyways one time a 1988 F-250 came in and pour sand in where oil supposed to go and ran it. He ran out of gas twice before it siezed up. Makes me depressed just thinking of all the perfectly good vehicles that had plenty of life in them destroyed like that.

      Its the fuel pumps. I have a 17 6.2 f350. Its very common in these gas trucks. ford won't do anything because the fuel pump isn't actually failing its just losing pressure the majority of the time. and because of that it puts more wear on your starter since there is no fuel until the pump builds up pressure again. now my starter has problems... my 2001 GMC 6.0 gas with 260k has started better its entire life while my ford might not start until the second or 3rd try....

      If it were me I’d buy another plastic one from Ford and put it under the back seat if you have a older truck there like $80 I think and they last 5 years before having a problem ever and the metal Mishimoto ones I switched to costed way to much for what they are and they can still fail eventually when the hose clamped section gets older and then it won’t just be a crack sound and loss of power but a metal pipe being blown off with considerable force under your hood possibly denting your hood.

    I just bought a 2019 f250 crew cab long bed with the 6.2 because the 6.2 has been around long enough to get the bugs out I hope. I don't tow daily and my needs are to haul 3 atvs and camping gear. I wont tow over 9000lbs when im working my truck. I hope I don't have too many issues with this engine. Thank you for posting this video. Do you have any most common repairs for fords 6.2 gas?

    Do you know what they say about Ford fix or repair daily found on Road dead. My new ram 3500 has not had one warranty issue nothing change the oil fuel in it and drive it

    • @suburbanhobbyist2752
      @suburbanhobbyist2752 3 года назад +3

      Lmao, you realize that these Fords also do not have any issues at first. Give your Ram 30,000 to 50,000 miles and then come back on here. My dad had two Rams before he figured out why they sell them so cheap. BOTH trucks stranded him more than once. I've been driving Fords for 25 years and have had mostly great trucks in that time. I'll go with Ford over all the other truck brands. Then again, I have a ton of experience with trucks and know better.

    • @2birddogsandawolfdog945

      FX4 is an off road package. Skid plates, different shocks, other "junk" depending on year and model.
