Excellent, to the point, instructional information! Thinking about one of these beasts. Seem very unreliable overall added to the pricey maintenance. I read up on fuel in US due to the constant problems with exhaust. Seems many problems with the Cat systems come (IMHO) from low cetane rating (40 to 45) of generally all diesel fuel. Add a conditioner, boost the cetane up, burns hotter, less particulates overall, engine combusts more efficiently everyone much happier. But another expense to keep the air clean & your truck running. Recommended oil change 7 to 10k. Again even the synthetics have tough time going that long without degradation. I think I personally would waste the money and go 5k at the most. Not practical for over the road but seems city driving harder on these babies as they are not being worked. Anyway thanks for the great video my friend. Your good, keep'em coming.

Great info, but now I'll have to find another video that shows where the pcv separator is as you pointed to it so fast that I have no idea what you pointed at. For some reason you did great showing the oil filler cap, but fortunately we all pretty much know where that is and what it looks like. lol

We recently had the fuel tank problem with our 2017 F350, when I posted about it on a Ford Superduty blog everyone said impossible the truck has a plastic tank and the problem was only with the models that had metal tanks??

Its the fuel pumps. I have a 17 6.2 f350. Its very common in these gas trucks. ford won't do anything because the fuel pump isn't actually failing its just losing pressure the majority of the time. and because of that it puts more wear on your starter since there is no fuel until the pump builds up pressure again. now my starter has problems... my 2001 GMC 6.0 gas with 260k has started better its entire life while my ford might not start until the second or 3rd try....
I am experiencing the oil leak and I believe it is because of the PCV Oil Separator. Dealer did not tell me this. They put die in the oil and said they would look for leak after I drove for 500 miles. Does the oil pan need to be dropped and seal replaced if PCV oil separator spring kit replaced?

Heat and time do cause those CAC tubes you referenced to blow, but I have also found excess pressure and heavy carbon build-up from clogged EGR coolers to cause failure. Either way, CAC tube replacement is a must. Good video! 👍

If it were me I’d buy another plastic one from Ford and put it under the back seat if you have a older truck there like $80 I think and they last 5 years before having a problem ever and the metal Mishimoto ones I switched to costed way to much for what they are and they can still fail eventually when the hose clamped section gets older and then it won’t just be a crack sound and loss of power but a metal pipe being blown off with considerable force under your hood possibly denting your hood.

Every diesel truck has issues no matter the manufacturer. Don’t get a GM or a Ram if this video scared you lol. Come on man!
Don't get a gm or ram then.
Ford is and will always be the best. Like the man said - don't get a GM or Ram if this scared you! you'll be sorry!
I have a question, what is the difference between 4x4 and Fx4 on F 250
FX4 is an off road package. Skid plates, different shocks, other "junk" depending on year and model.
Thankyou 👍
I have a 550 and the clutch fan runs all the time and really loud is that normal

Gracias señor
Well… never heard of any of these problems. Not sure if these are 5 big problems but likely something you’ve seen break before.
Great video. Best fix for these and likely other material Ford Diesel engine shortcomings is to dumb the truck.
Great video did a good job and good information

Forgot about cp4 failure
5 more reasons I’m glad I bought a GMC gasser.
Gmc has 10 times more problems
That's great, as long as you don't have to actually two anything heavy. Oh, and this guy can make a video about your GMC that is just as long if not longer....
@@suburbanhobbyist2752 Then that really is strange because my GMC gas has 50k miles running cross country from Florida to Washington over mountain passes (admittedly slower than traffic up those) towing 11k trailer including gear and no issues yet.
@@cavolante LOL... The operative word in that paragraph is "yet"... Best wishes..
My gmc....this is all just at 70000 miles. Take in mind all i do is drive back and forth to work. That's it no off road no nothing. Transmission 6900.00. Rear main seal 2 times at 800.00. 2 batteries at 550.00 oh ya the a.c went out at 40000 and that was 1600.00. So good luck. If you actually look up and do your homework on gm trucks. They have a reliability of 12 out of a 100. Jd power....car week. All the big names say that gm sucks for reliability.
Is funny how dealership won't bring this info up when they're selling them 😤 I got a 2019..f250 and the transmission housing just cracked all open across
Did warranty cover it

Lesson 1 if you don't need a diesel don't buy a diesel. If you need a do the maintenance often and early .
This should be a ad for Ford 😂

I’m on my fourth turbo on my 2017 platinum, it only has 40,000 miles
guy that works with me had 3 turbos before 40k
Im on my 19th turbo in 20,000 miles.
I had 3 turbos on my 2011 f350 6.7L (replaced twice not 3 plumbed together)
My 2019 6.7 w/64K miles has never had an issue. Zero. If you want to search the internet to find a problem with your truck you will.
They also have a death wobble in these new fords worse then my 3rd gen ram which everyone knows had horrible frontends....but you spend 80k on a truck in 2020 and have the same problem lol
+Tony Chapin Thanks for the feedback!
My vericle had pcv valve issue and they tried to sell me a whole turbo setup for $4k 😂😂
Surprised nothing on the death wobble. My truck has 17k on it and Ford cant seem to fix it. Still under warranty but.....
+William Robarge Thanks for the feedback!
Couple aftermarket steering stabilizers will do the trick. Throw 'steering stabilizers' and year of truck on the inter webs.. come right up.
