Pretty cool. Imagine what we’d be able to do if we all read the owner’s manual 😂. Thanks for showing these features.
What is that?
Imagine, if we were not all rich kids
Windows down tip was great ! 👍🏻
2018 150 Lariat only need to hit 6 after your key code to drop the tailgate. Had a 2015 before that and both had a Sport mode setting on the center console shifter. It definitely changes the shift points. Didn’t know the window down feature on the fob.
for the “sport mode” you only have to click it twice, not 5 times
Didn't know about the key fob / window down feature without starting. Thanks a million :)
If you pull a goose neck trailer you’ll love the auto drop tailgate feature.
Just adding on to the Sport Mode. Everyone has mentioned it holds gears longer to stay in the power band, but it also increases the throttle sensitivity, especially on the low end. This is really noticeable in my truck with the 3.0l powerstroke, which doesn't have a ton of HP anyways. For example when I'm driving down the road and may be going about 25mph, with steady throttle and I switch to Sport Mode (button my console shifter on mine) it takes a second or too, but the truck will accelerate to maybe 30mph without giving anymore throttle input.
Great job, man. Love this.
the reason why you hit the two bottom numbers to lock your truck from the outside is so you can lock the truck with key fob in it great option
Or if you just run outside to grab something, you don't need your keys at all. Super handy, use that one all the time.
Nice feature for the beach or other water activities. Not drowning your fob. Or losing it.
That’s been around for years. My dad had a 1985 TBird that had it.
@@themustang181 right, it's well thought out if you know about it
Other dealer manufacturers say this is old technology but boy is this handy and nice to have. I hope they never stop doing this and wish other manufacturers would get on board. I suppose they can’t or they will be teased about copying Ford.
I'm Loving what you're doing. Can't wait for your journey
If you had a F-150 Lariat 5L you would actually a sport mode and towing mode as I have. Sport and towing mode have a higher RPM shifting and down shifting when slowing, works as an engine brake. We have many different options where you show digital speed. Our center console has the shifting control there not on the tree as we called it as kids. Three on the tree!! We can also lock out gears from high down as I do when towing.
Put the truck in neutral and switch between 4H and 4L 5 times fairly quick it disengages the transfer case for flat tow.
I didn’t know much of any of what you showed me. I will give them all a try. Thanks!
GREAT video thanks!
Sport mode makes your transmission shift points longer before shifting. Also down shifts like a manual transmission. Great for hilly terrains.
Also useful in drag racing.
Great info, thanks!
Nice vid. I have a 2015 F150 and when you shift into sport mode the gear timing changes quite a bit.
I knew all the ones except the last two! That’s awesome thank you!
Just bought my first Ford a couple days ago! I’m learning all sorts of things.
Hey man, I appreciate you doing this. Pretty cool. My 2021 F150 XL with a 2.7 has a drive mode called sport. it makes the throttle more sensitive and it makes the transmission hold gears longer to keep the engine up in the rpm range.
my 2019 xlt sport 4x4 is the same, shift points are different
My 2015 does that
Yeah my 2020 5.0 XLT definitely changes a bunch in sport mode. In fact it's a little crazy aggressive with those RPMs.
Mine too on my 2016 Platinum.
Your becomes more responsive your overall top speed won’t change but from 0 to 160 will be a lot quicker
Window drop trick is awesome if you have a trained k9 in the car and need him to come to your rescue !!
Man you made a great vid! Very helpful
It absolutely changes the shift points on a 2022 and it goes into 4A ...4x4 auto. Its a beast
Thanks bro all were new to me
Sport mode keeps your rpms higher so you have quicker response
My 2015 f150 platinum has a button to switch between regular, tow/haul and sport mode and it definitely does change the shift points. It's a 3.5 eco
I second this (2015 XLT)
ditto 2018 V8, 1080R F150
Ditto, 2018 f150 v8, 1080R tranny===== normal////tow haul//// Sport//// Snow ice//// Eco all change the way it shifts.
Holds gears a little longer and shifts into every gear. So yes it does work like sport mode. 👍
Right my is a 2015 5l
And it does make a difference in shifting and rpm
Super cool! Thanks, I have the exact Truck…
My understanding is sport mode doesn’t restrict or limit your torque on acceleration.
What rim and tire setup do you have also size love the vid by the way.
Sweet truck, love the wheels
The front camera washer is kinda cool. On my 2019 F-250
My 2015 F150 has sport mode on the shifter ( tow/sport mode), press the button twice at the end of the column shifter and then hold on tight!! My truck has the v8 (same as the 2015 mustangs). Sport mode performance in my F150 makes a huge difference in performance and characteristics. To be fair i do have a dual flow custom fabricated exhaust with black tips and a cold air intake on the engine. The truck is pretty quick, just lite on the back end. lol
You can also roll the windows up by pressing the lock button on the remote twice and holding it down the second press.
Stop spreading lies
@@mattcaesar5781Funny. Would you like me to send you a video of it working?
@@scottbacker8286 would love that bc my 22 dont do it. The only way ive seen it work is with forscan and reprogram it.
@@mattcaesar5781 Wait! So now you are saying you can roll the windows up with the remote? Stop spreading lies.
@@scottbacker8286 ah the ol it works for me but not for you and i wont tell you why
Sport mode on the F150's makes a big difference with throttle and RPM response
Agreed on my 2018 F150 not to mention the shift down approaching stops or going down hills
Indeed
Only takes 2 taps on the button to change. Sport mode in my F350 disables traction control and increases throttle
response. Enough improvement with throttle that I do it every time I drive!
2018 3.5 eco boost… my sport mode feels like it also increases boost on the top end, it’s still pulling pretty hard as opposed to wheezing in daily driver mode.
just picked up a 17 lariat today....definately switching to the shelby R theme 🤣🤣
Is that your actual mileage 197k? If so how does it drive and any issues? Beautiful truck!
Just a tip when you get to the menu to change the screen just look at the one right below it and select enable test on it will store it in you menu so you dont have to hold the buttons everytime. Also i dont know if yours is different but my 19 250 to enable sport mode i just tap it twice, not five times.
Sport mode on mine kicks ass. Put the traction into posi the truck takes off like crazy! revs higher, shifts quick and when slowing down it shifts down quicker than normal acting like a quick down shift to slow the vehicle..
I had read that the computer limits torque in the low gears to prevent damage.
Sport mode overrides those settings.
far in the menu for Courtesy Whipe. So when you spray your windshield and it cleans it, it holds for like 5 sec and then whipes any remaining there would be at the end :)
What size are your tires and rims nice,👍🏽👍🏽
2020 f-350 here. i wish you could see the temperature settings and outside temperature when using carplay.
Yeah, they have a giant screen for the speedometer and tach but couldn’t find room for the temperature and time.
My 2015 has sport mode on the column shifter push once for trailer mode and twice for sport mode
I learned the window trick from a different video. But what is the Tailgate drop with the fob. I have a 2018 F250 xlt. or are some of these only on the Lariat??? My fob looks totally different then the one that he has.
Hi Zak you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge about Ford vehicles. I hope you will read me, in fact I am in France and I bought an F150 which was imported to me, it is a2016 FX4 Lariat finish with extended bed. I love this truck, I hardly drive more than that :). In short, I noticed that it is equipped with the electric motor fixed on the steering column and also with the camera integrated into the windshield but since it is not the Platinum version I do not have the button above of the screen which allows to activate the lane keeping function and also the options on the edge screen are not present and the function seems deactivated. Do you think it would be possible to activate the function at the software level and that I add a button to allow the use of lane keeping? Thank you so much
How do you get full screen backup camera? Mine is like half screen backup and half 360 view.
On the seeing the gears you can also make it drop gears so instead of 6 you can only have 5 idk how man you can go down though unintentionally found it out 2017 250 king ranch
Bro you can get drive modes on the gassers. Idk about the diesels but my 2019 had normal,economy,rain-snow,tow-haul,sport model.
Great Job kid, dont worry about hitting the "End Test" button to shorten your wait time when changing themes. 👍
Did you have issues with the theme reverting back to the original? Evert time I changed the theme when I started it back up it would go back. Am I doing something wrong?
The tailgate function is great for picking people up at the airport. My tailgate goes down and up from in the cab. F150 Powerboost 👍
It goes up? How does that work?
@David McIntier there is a button in the cab that lowers the tailgate, then brings it backup. Also, when you go to close it manually it takes over and closes it for you just lift up in the gate a bit.
What year do you have?
@@user-tu7rr1zg4b 2021
Nice truck, i just read in my maual that the truck has camereras all arounfd the truck and i can acess it with a controll button . Stilm have to try it out but that would be cool. Apperantly you can disable the seat belt alarm too
How about to remove the little black Square when using the front or back cameras? (No full image)
We have a 2021 Platinum F250. The hold down unlock to roll windows down does not work, wish it did
I have a 2022 ford f150 platinum, do it hav the same features as the one you showing
Tailgate feature is cool for handicap or disabled folks.
I love my 2004 6.9 Super Duty. 215K miles and still strong
No one really cares bro
at 950ft/lb of torque, if you turn off the traction control completely....... well.. say goodbye to your tires. sport mode allows for some tire spin and doesn't cut power to the wheels completely like regular traction control
All I heard was grocery shopping with the girlfriend and the wife lmao
In the bed of the truck. Drop your tailgate. Reach in on the drivers side upper corner of the bed side back by the tailgate. There’s a button (only if you have the puddle & bed lights) where you can turn the lights on and off just like the one in the cab.
Correct, my F150 has this option. Honestly, haven't used it, but it's there nonetheless!
Windows down by the remote needs a Forscan download to do it.. Not all factory trucks come with that feature. Tailgate I believe is also a Lariat only thing. Cool video though! Thanks for the other tips!
I just went down and tried it on my 2018 F-150 Platinum and it didn't work.
If you hold the door close button on the fob it will close all windows including sunroof
Love my 18 150! Blue Oval technology rocks!
i use the lock feature on keypad to lock my keys in truck so i don't have to carry them
The tray for the key fob is to start your truck with a low battery in your key fob. It is also for reprogramming or programming a new key.
pretty sure that's what he said in the video
@@brianbyers2682 When your pretty sure make sure your pretty sure. There was no mention in the video of the reprogramming or programming a new key.
2021 f150s have this?
Wouldn’t it be easier to put the physical key inside the fob, like Nissan?
@swanhill772 there is a physical key. But this fob is for button push start so the key is just to unlock the doors if needed.
I'm pretty sure sport mode has shift points at higher rpm's
Tow mode is the true sport mode 👍
sport mode enables the transmission to sustain longer periods before switching gears.
just tried the double click on my remote for my 2016 King ranch, does not work for me. additionally tried changing the screen logo and it shows it when i turn off the truck but then reverts to the original when i turn back on.
I have 22 f350 platinum and but mine does not give the option to change the themes following your steps….bummer bc that is a really cool feature.
If you hit the enable testing settings button on that hidden screen then it’ll always be on your screen. You won’t have to hold the track forward buttons to access it anymore
Thank you for the tips and tricks, but I need to know one more thing. What is your tire size and the brand of types you have
@@lorenzowest7756 whatever stock size is for a 19 super duty and bfg at ko2
The new startup screens are only one time on my 2020 XLT. Or is there some way to make it continue to do it?
@@myrtlecock I believe it’s a ForScan thing to make it stick permanently
@@myrtlecockI was going to ask the same
Here’s some neat features that I don’t see myself ever using.
I've used the feature for locking the doors with the bottom two buttons for a long time now from my 2012 f-150's to my 2018 f-150 and my wife's 2016 explorer. Works great if you want to leave the vehicle running, if you have a dog in it and take the key fob with you or leave it in, I usually just keep it in my pocket. At least if someone breaks in they don't have the fob to steal it. I believe this was mentioned, but it also overrides automatic unlock if it senses the key inside, when you hit the normal door lock. Other than that, my truck has the tailgate feature, but I don't really use that and the window trick doesn't work with mine.
Sport mode actually does something it holds the gears longer so you can take off faster
Is there a way to make ALL windows go down? Is therr a way to disablenthe tailgate lock. ...?
So how do I get back to test diagnostics if I swap it to a theme I don't like?
I don't know why FORD gives you a way to see different screen settings in test mode but only good for one time on..I really dug the Lincoln Black
I have a 2019 F450 Lariat. I was hoping the windows down feature would work - it didn’t.
Another one that a lot of people don't know, most ford's do. But not all. If you pull out of the 4x4 knob, you will basically have posi track as well
That's an option. That only works if you have an electronic locking diff.
That's only on the fx4 models and I believe specifically to the 3.55 rear end.
No I have a two-wheel drive with the 3.55 rear end and I have the same knob in the same spot for four-wheel drive but all it does is lock the rear end. So it doesn't have to be a 4x4.
@@Seasniffer69 Both of my 2012's had 3.73's and had it. I'm not sure if it was an available option for all ratios though.
@@bobs64ford352 this is true. I was being small minded and just thinking about my old 2019 fx4
Just tried the Shelby R on my 2020. It's awesome, but I can't get it to go back to the original setting even when I select it. Any suggestion on going back?
I'm pretty sure it will go back automatically after so long but I've only heard! I'll try it someday when I'm brave enough lol.
I'm not positive, but if you disconnect the negative battery cable for a minute or so, it may return to original settings.
See I have a 2020 and I wanted it to stay and it will not!😅
I can’t get mine back to original setting
Bad ass
Ok, that dead key fob thing is awesome, and I didn't know that. I had a key almost dead while I was away at a remote work site. Luckily, one of my welding helmets had the same battery. However, had I known this I would have had to fk around
I tried to change the radio start up image from the Ford logo to the raptor logo but it doesn't stay. It defaults back to the Ford logo. Any fixes?
You only have to double tap for Sport Mode.
Did the secret Bezel Diagnostics feature and now only the top three options are visible and it won’t scroll down. Is there another way to reset?
Did the Lincoln one and now my screen is black! Any idea how to reset it back to normally? Screen is all black.
I don’t think my 16 windows drop with the Remote. I’m going to try it again. I know my 13 SHO did it. Opened the sunroof too. Loved that feature.
Check the settings on your dash. May be turned off. Didnt know my 14 had it until I was scrolling through and saw it.
The SHO, what a ride!!
Bro has an SHO FoSHO!
Every time I see one I friggin drool I’ve had to cross my path that were used, but both were raped on one they had removed the rear struts. There’s nothing inside the springs. It was weird and lowered it, so the exhaust had been bashed in on a couple of speed bumps, and another one that I found that had brown interior it was an amazing look actually the same look that was for the commercials when the SHO came out and it had all kinds of things wrong with it , some people that just don’t know how to modify vehicles get their hands on these things and start screwing them up.
I’ll find me an SHO one of these days that’s for sure and I’m hoping it’ll be the 2019 that being the last year that they made it. If Ford ever decides to bring back a vehicle for production that would be the one I would vote for.
So much hoss.
Just checked my '16 250 XLT and it rolled them down
I think the tailgate feature is for someone backing up to a gooseneck trailer. You don't need to get out to open it when you get close.
Yep I also occasionally use it when I'm carrying tools or whatever to load and can open it from a distance before my hands are full.
Convenience for full hands etc. Many uses man
Hitting 3 after your door code also unlocks all 4 doors instead of just driver door
How do you save the theme? I can change it, but it goes back to the Ford logo after a few minutes.
What kind of tail lights and head lights are those
The roll windows down with the remote does not work on my 2023 Powerboost. Does anyone know if there is another button combination to make it work?
Only one I didn't know was the theme menu. That alone was worth the watch. Thanks for sharing!
Edit: it goes away ☹️
Yeah I was hoping it would stay... I'm here reading the comments to see if there was some way to make it happen.
With foracan you can do it where it will stay
Keep in mind it depends on the trim level. I have a 2017 f250 XL and some of these will not apply.
Of course
So the reason the Shelby wouldn't go off when you change themes is because it has to completely shut down. However, I noticed it completely shuts down and goes back to the original pre-programmed into the vehicle which is the Ford classic or whatever it's called originally. So it doesn't hold the new theme. Anybody know how to get it to hold the new theme? Mine doesn't
Mine too. Frustrating.
Also, the door code thing. You don't need to press 4&5.
Type in your code ei: 12345, then hit the last digit one more time, so in this case "5" and your end gate will lower down.
Unfortunately doesn’t work for my 22 king ranch
@@DonovanMc.-zm4dt are you doing your code or the factory code? Only works with the factory code.
@@Alexzavior2119 I’ve tried with personal & factory code, doesn’t work
Odd. My buddies 23 works
Ford just doesn’t care about me. I’ve asked a few other folks & it works on some but not all of their higher trim truck so that’s interesting
Ok - how do you go back to your original settings? I pushed the envelope and now I'm all screwed up
There is a compartment in the 2022 f150 under where the shifter lays down.
So the hidden menu called bezel diagnostics and pressing end test will stop that speaker test.
So when the truck shuts off, it displays the new screen but when it fires up, it’s back to old boring ford? How do We fuck with this?? … and thanks by the way… very cool! Did not know about sport mode or the test setting! I just hold down the traction control till everything goes off and then she’s a wildcat! … but I also have mine deleted of coarse!
You forgot one of the most useful game changing features on the tailgate. Scenario, you put the tailgate down, you grab whatever's in the back using both hands. Now to close the tailgate without using your hands, put your knee under the tailgate and give it a little bump upwards and the tailgate goes back up.
That’s because that’s only on brand new trucks, I know 21+ f-150s and the 22+ super duties (not sure on super duties)
@@jackpixley3696 Sorry if I miss spoke, however, thank you for clearing that up as I myself was not aware of that feature only being on certain model years.
only on some... 2023 f350 mine has the down button, but doesnt have up installed... but it is an XLT .. and with my bed cover (diamondback) doesn't work anyways... to much pressure on it.
Have a 2016 F250 Super Duty Diesel. Uses key to start or remote. Not recognizing these features, anyone else help me catch a clue?
