Derek Trucks is the best guitarist going today. It’s not about playing a million notes a second or sweep arpeggios which he can do without slide or with, which is even more impressive. It’s the incredible feel he plays with. It’s the way other amazing players look at him when he plays…awestruck!!! It’s the incredible respect musicians have for him. It’s his amazing humility and passion.
Open your mind & your ears will follow. There are a number of people who don't need to back down or take a back seat to anyone. Derek is among these. To name a few would just disrespect those forgotten to be mentioned. Remember that most if the serious talent gravitate toward jazz eventually.
He’s the best to ever live. The best to ever pick up a guitar. Yes, I mean the best ever. You name the guitarist, Derek beats them in any given category. There’s no one as expressive as he is on the instrument. Let alone his unparalleled technical ability, he makes sounds come out of a guitar that literally no one else can. He and the guitar are connected better than any other person has ever been, and I will absolutely die on that hill.
Man, Gabe Dixon is such an incredible artist. Certainly, there's no band in the whole world that compares to Tedeschi Trucks Band. They just have one of the best musician all over the world in each instrument. Their music flow like a river. The only thing you can do is pleasently yield to their talent and enjoy like a child in his first time at Disneyland.
@fastguitar I saw him about the same time playing in a bar in Florida. I went to see Dickey, not this kid who was related to somebody. I didn't give it any thought until he started playing. I knew this kid would be great if he didn't self-destruct.... The rest as they say is history
@@MrSmiley1964 If you saw Derek when he was little did you ever catch him at the old Flag Pavilion at the beach? I swear he was playing around Jacksonville when he seemed shorter than the guitar! He was the kid sitting in with every name brand act that played around here. Good times!

"Dreams" is where it all began (again) for my love of the ABB and Derek and Susan. I had lost track of the ABB in the 1990s and then I took a chance on them in 2003 in Virginia. I happened to buy a seat next to a seat purchased for recording equipment (yes, the ABB used to allow it) and when I heard "Dreams" with Derek's solo, it just sent me into a blissful state. I turned to the person doing the recording and said "I would give anything to just hear that again." He sent me the recording and that started my journey with Derek's band, ABB, and TTB. With Gabe Dixon interpreting Gregg's soulful singing, there is so much potential for ABB classics to stay alive and well. We are fortunate to have them on the road and recording such great music!
I miss seeing the AB. They have been such a staple in my life. Personally, I think Derek is the best player out there!! He is on another level, and he's humble. If I could sing I'd want my voice to sound like Susan's;) seriously so good! The whole band, everyone is doing their thing and it all fits together so magically. Thank you for the upload, as always it sounds amazing!!
That was respect right there ! And so awesome to see those 2 drummers having a great workout behind Derek and Susan - the ABB spirit is truly living on
It was awesome when both drummers were in view - just how they complimented one another, and into the song they were - awesome performance. One great band to hear
Always nice to see Dwayne play again coops i mean Derek. Anyway if he is not the reincarnation of Dwayne Allman he is of another accomplished musician.
I regret that I missed this concert. Actually, I didn't evn know about it. When will you be playing The Orpheum again? You should see if you could play the Cabot Theater in Beverly MA. It's a great old theater, a small venue with big names.
Melodic music is real music. Tired of hearing guitarists going atonal borderline discordant in a futile effort to sound innovative and original. Good music is melodic .

Exactly! Like the southern rock of the early 70's. Smooth as silk, complex as sacred geometry and sweet as honey!

So, so very happy that Susan and Derek are keeping the ABB songs alive. My young adult years( ~ 50 years ago) thank you.

There is no replacement for Gregg Allman ....but what a great job he did....didn't expect it to be so goooood.
I did!
That’s a couple skilled drummers. Playing two different beats. Derek must have fingers like steel. The entire band is phenomenal

You forget the background singers. Not on this track, but sure as hell an important part of the band!
Susan is playing a Les Paul! These folks keep giving us so much. Love it.
We're hanging out one night with d in Manny's car wash in New York City! 🫡👌👍💯😎😎
Obviously the best part of this is Derek and Susan, but I gotta say the singer does an amazing job as well
Thank you...Just awesome music that I get lost in...
This band have got to be the best ever. Singing, guitar, drummers and brass section, you cannot fault them. A superb act always.

Nice vocals Gabe. Well done. And DT, well.........
I like that Derek plays with his fingers, not a pick. It gives a beautiful softness to his tone. Reminds me of Toy Caldwell from MTB.
If I can't have the original, this is a perfect substitute - AMAZING!
And hopefully the road and the dream goes on forever

I love Tedeschi Trucks. Have been blessed to see them live twice. They kill it everytime
love how the jams are so wonderfully different, unique every time they play this.
Best band out there…
Saw Derek playing at the Sarasota Blues Festival when he was a young teenager. It was obvious then that he had a future.
and soooo love the camera work during the jams that show the 2 drummers at same time Derek is playing.
Glad you enjoyed Erasmus!

Absolutely amazing. Bravo TTB!
A minor thing I guess but I think it is so cool that Derek still uses an empty coricidan bottle as a slide, just like Duane did.
