I’ve been fortunate to sing the part of Raphael three times over the years in my church’s choir. During these pandemic times, it’s been fun to sing along with the Choir on this and other choral works. May the day soon come where COVID is just a memory and choirs can safely gather once again to sing praise to the Lord.
I had the honor and privilege to sing the Tenor part on this beautiful anthem back in 2003 at the National Baptism Convention the choirs prepared for months for that concert I was only 13yrs old
Make a long story, our high school choir won citywide competition for singing this song and How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place by Brahms. It was o ly 20 of us and the judges laughed how would we as a choir of twenty could this song meant for a choir of eighty, we wound up singing it aczpella because the piano our choir director, Mr, Archie Brown, who was our accompanist, could no longer play because the piano became and sticking together so we wound up singing g, in harmony and tempo. We were the first at Forrestville Highschool to City wide for the best chorus. I was 16 years old and will never forget that day. Sorry for my grammatical errors. But you get the point. We had no support from anyone in our high school hool, even the judges laughed at us. We took that First place trophy back to school to let everyone know that we were Champions! I will never forget our choir director, Mr. Archie Brown! We were students of Forrestville High school on the Southside of Chicago , also known as the ghetto. He graduated from DePaul U I ersity with a Masters Degree, an accomplished pianist, who took time to teach us about music, Our choir was televised in 1970 on WGN Christmas program. We even went to Nassau in the Bahama Island for five days and our choir sang at every school because someone at their school board had heard about us. We were a small choir with an extremely talented teacher who took us to places we would never have imagined to go. We never nominated him for an Apple Award for the best teacher because we had never heard of it but, to all of us He will always be the apple of our eyes with resounding love ! Marion Hunter.
I was fortunate to have been reared in a medium sized church that possessed an extraordinary choir and strong liturgical music program. I remember as a child the very first time I heard them sing this and the words brought tears to my eyes. It still does and the Tabernacle trio is such a beautiful vocal blend. Thank you. MOJ
I was also privileged to grow up in a church with this type of music ,including gospel spirituals and hymns.Sadly to say this lacking in a lot of churches of today.
I too NEVER tire of this! Indeed I remember when I first heard it in church as a very young child. Its words evoke my profound belief in the essence of Jehovah and It’s Power, to evoke ever greater belief! Praise The Lord, Hallelujah! MOJ
So calm and so brave at the right places!!!!!!! Perfect performance!!! What a simple and, at same time, stylish version!!!!!!!! The tenor soloist is so so so perfect!
The first time I heard this work was with the Benemerito de las Americas Choir (highschool of LDS Church in Mexico City, now Missionary center). It was quite an experience, I never had the chance to sing it... but the Lord is letting me a few days more here on earth, so, Maybe I´ll have the chance
The sound of the Choir is so much more vibrant and crystal clear in the acoustics of the Tabernacle as compared to the new Conference Center where they often perform nowadays. The pioneers knew what they were doing!
This song,Oh reminds me of my days back at College of Education,Warri ,1984, when I sang in the school, choir, with my Music Lecturer,Dr A A Ogisi who was also the chief Organist
Si calme et si courageux aux bons endroits !Prestation parfaite !Quelle version simple et, en même temps, élégante ! Le soliste ténor est tellement parfait ! Le son de la chorale est tellement plus vibrant et cristallin.
So lovely and well sung. I was very musical as a child and learned the piano but our school had no choir here in the UK. Then went away to university and joined a choir and sang and sang and sang, in he UK and abroad. This is one of the first pieces we sang at university in 1979 and I still know it to this day (and still sing every day).
I am thankful that I live here in the Salt Lake Area and go to hear the choir personally. I have friends who have sung with the choir and friends who sing now with the choir. I know the person who books the guest singers for the choir too.
Oh yeah? My cousin is married to a lady whose grandmother met a guy one time whose brother had flown over Salt Lake City at the exact moment the choir was performing. This guy also had a friend with the same first name as the conductor.
This epic is such an amazing craft Nairobi diocese class apex this very song is our set piece 1. As a tenor guy am loving this song even i find myself singing all time..LOVE IT
I don't really identify as Christian. And I'm not really into the Mormon's. BUT, the 'Mormon Tabernacle Choir' is AMAZING AND I LOVE Joseph 'Papa' Haydn! Just listen to this beautiful rendition of 'The Heaven's Are Telling' from his 'Creation'. Superb music, and superb musicianship! No wonder Christians get excited! 😱 P.S. When I went to Teachers college 30 years ago and did my major in music, we had to be part of the choir and we had to perform 'The Heavens are Telling' in our final year. I've loved it ever since! P.P.S. Fun Fact: I LOVE the fact that when the self-absorbed Napoleon invaded Vienna in 1809, Haydn was such a respected figure across Europe that two of Napoleon's sentries were put on guard so that he wouldn't have to move in his old age.
People of God can you please help me to go nd join in this choir my heart really want to sing in this choir with my entire life anyone who touched to help me please help me I want to join this group
My High School choirs are doing this piece, along with the Wilhousky Battle Hymn, and How Lovely is the dwelling place, with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra April 18th. This choir does all of these pieces, very well if i may add.
All three members of the trio are very good, but the tenor is spectacular, effortlessly rendering a sound worthy of the glory of God that is the subject of this piece. What's his name?
BEAUTIFUL, ANGELIC, CHOIR, AND ORCHESTRA FROM HEAVEN.❤

Wow, Amazingly singing at that age, 👏👏👏
My friends and teachers in Indonesia said that mormon is a bad church. But now I know on youtube that their classical choir is the best. Excellent

Splendid! The heavens are telling the Glory of God... The best performance so far.

Every time I listen to this song I whisper to God to bring me home that I may sing with the Angels. So weird that I cry while doing so....

Excellent rendition. Best I have found on the web so far. Great job, thanks!

The Mormon Choir does this great Haydn masterpiece the best of any choir!
A lovely peace of course, I am going to practice it so that we can perform it in my church. I love it too much.

Jaden Karr Wish I could have seen it, had no idea the Youngstown Symphony had performed this as of late.
Dylan Kollat it's literally a year later but it was truly an awesome expierence. Got to do it last month too with Vivaldi's Gloria.
Trio perfect, good music and well presented
What a lovely song
Uplifting, inspiring!
I have seen a fraction of [God's] glory, and it is awesome. - Bernard of Clairvaux, On the Song of Songs

+Li Harp for jhs
Awesome song
Listen to (Haydn's creation - best - The heavens are telling the glory of God) sung by a brilliant South African Choir.
I did. The choir isn't bad, but the orchestra was not up to the task.
All three members of the trio are very good, but the tenor is spectacular, effortlessly rendering a sound worthy of the glory of God that is the subject of this piece. What's his name?
I cant tell ehich one---either its uriel or Raphael-- (the middle voice in the trio) is the spitting image of out pastor!!!!
It's nice listen carefully in silence
BREATHE TAKING ❤🙏🙏👏👏👏
Wonderful
I sang Gabriel’s part in the trio for our all county choir concert!! It was so fun ✨
You raise me up
WOW I ENJOYED THIS RENDITION SO MUCH
Pardon me if I envy those three soloists. (ENVYING.)
I think the choir has rendered this song perfectly. if it gets slow, it might be so odd.
Roland Nubiah I hate when it is rushed, also. This is perfect.
Superb trio and arrangement
It's grateful
Waawo amazing
splendid
I think Angels sings this song in heaven...
