I was paralyzed in bed last year and I heard Jesus say out loud to me - If you believe in me get up and walk💜🕊💜 I got up and not only walked but went for a walk outside. Praise God!!!!! GOD IS ALWAYS WORKING!!!! ✌💜🕊🙏
The story behind the composing of this is fascinating. Handel fasted and stayed awake during the 21 days it took him to compose the entire thing, had a vision of God on His throne while composing this portion.
I love this music and I love this choir. I’m a-38-year-old guy from the protestant Nordic country, Finland that is. I resigned from the church 10 years ago but I haven’t lost my faith in Christianity. I really want to be in touch with Jesus Christ and one way to achieve that is listening to your music ❤
I love this version, it makes me emotional. I was playing it loud last night on the house speakers and it made me feel like I was there in heaven with the angels and millions of people singing.
I sang this with about 1500 other high school students in Germany, in 1974. Every school in the country sent one student to a massive festival, and I was honored to be part of it, as the representative from the US Air Force headquarters high school from Wiesbaden. First and only time in my life I have broken a sweat singing my guts out.
One thing that the Mormons did was to understand the need for high quality choir and orchestra because it touches and bangs us n the soul for Gods revelation and spirit n our hearts
I’m Catholic and I’m here for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir because they just do the music justice like no other choir I’ve heard. Magnificent. Just beyond words.
I grew singing this in high school. I simply love it! When I regained consciousness after a major medical. My son was playing this at my medside to prove to"medical professionals that's I was responsive and lucid. They wanted to give up on me. But hmy son knew what to do to interest me to wake up. Hallelujah!!
If you ever doubted the existence of God this would surely convince you. The pure Divinity in Handel’s music ,the choir, the orchestral arrangement and the sheer scale of this rendition. It’s absolutely stunning!
In a 65 person Church Choir, my first such experience, we were blessed to learn this from our Pastoral Minister, JM ..he put us through the paces for 4 months to sing this at Christmas Eve Mass 2018. I had never been aware of this song. After the Choir sang this, ( I was in as a Bass 1 ) for our congregation, I, we, many seniors, kindda fell back on the bench seats in the Choir Loft, just winded and near tears that we pulled it off. The Choir Pastoral Minister bid us to stand, from below in the Church, 300 fellow parishioners applauded. I looked at my feet in humility. We had put in 4 hrs a week for 4 months, I could feel Heaven and the smile of Jesus and my deceased family. Now, if I listen to Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing this, I cry. God prevailed. Covid flees, Maybe soon we sing in Choir again.
Old line Southern Baptist here but I must say that the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra of the Latter-Day Saints Temple are in my opinion the best in the world. Couple that with what is probably the most magnificent piece of music ever written and you surely must feel that the Heavens have opened up and the angels have joined in.
Every time the women sing KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS and their pitch gets higher and higher, always touches my soul in ways I can't explain. Simply angelic.
I completely agree. At that point, I feel like heaven and earth touch, and that's where I get a glimpse of heaven. I think Jesus had his hand on Handel's should when he wrote the whole Oratorio.
I sang this in High School, every year for 3 years. My high school had 12,000 students (larger than some universities), and 4 choruses, 2 orchestras, and one band. The auditorium was called The Chapel and had stained glass windows, because it had once been part of a Dutch Reformed Church, built in the 1600's, across from the school. Our Christmas concerts were glorious. All the choruses surrounded the listeners, (1 on stage, and 3 in the balconies) and while they each had their own Christmas music to sing....this song, was sung by all. It filled the chapel with such glory...and was so moving, those memories still make me tear up with joy, 60 years later.
Kitty Watson .....You’ll be blessed, forever, here & in Heaven! 🙏🏼 I have received so many many miracles, I will never ever stop believing in Almighty God! 🛐
I'm not Mormon but your choir is a blessing! I get chills every time I hear this song and want to fall on my face before the Lord. For His glorious return I pray...
I’m agnostic for most of the time in life, but these 4 minutes make me want to pray to the heavens! Just a beautiful choir of talented, beautiful people that makes you think the best of humanity. Thanks for bringing this to us all.
This was my dad's favorite hymn partly because he learned to play the organ in Holland in early 1940 at 13 yrs. old. The same organ Mozart and Mendellson trained on.
Even though a Christian Orthodox, I have to give it to these Mormon Choristers.. Their voices are pure heaven and take the celebration of Christmas to another level! Congratulations to all involved in this video. God Bless!
I love it too, once upon a time, when I was young, I was mormon, but now I know that music is vibration of matter, if there is no matter,( air), music is impossible, then in heaven...
@@luizantoniokesselring6831 What makes you think you can know anything of heaven? Many have heard heavenly choirs singing. What do we know? Don't lose your faith in God because of ignorance of His reality. Man's is the failure of intellect, not our Creator. ✨Come Lord Jesus, come. God's Will be done in all things. IJNIP, Amen.✨✝️🙏🏼💖 Hallelujah! Amen.🙌🏻
Handel must have been inspired by God when he wrote Messiah. Because when you listen to it, all of the songs, especially this Hallelujah Chorus, just feel like the kind of songs the hosts of heaven would sing when they raise their voices to praise their Lord and Redeemer.
This incredible piece of music makes me want to jump for joy. I heard the Choir sing this live and it was electrifying! 20,000 people stood up at the end and gave them a standing ovation. Gives me goosebumps to remember that experience.
Best choir on the planet. And I'm an atheist. It is truly to awesome to experience this in the tabernacle, which I have. What an amazing space of pure acoustic bliss. My music and choir teacher in high school was a soprano member and her voice was so beautiful and powerful. She was a wonderful woman and music teacher.
Tears in my eyes listening to this majestic piece- brilliant composer, Hayden, & this beautiful & gifted choir & orchestra. Couldn't get any better! I never tire of listening to this piece.
I hope this is the song God had the angels blast when Christ descends it will be the most miraculous event ever in mankind and shall ever be for the rest of eternity! Praise God for his amazing choir! Praise the king of kings!
When I was in pre-med at the University of Utah, I also had a job at a hotel across from Temple Square…which has the “Tab” choir. Thursday mornings were full practice. So I would sit and listen….”Ordinary looking” folks would walk in, chatting and laughing. Then with one voice and the powerful pipe organ, music and voices would join as one. The Tabernacle built 150 years ago with perfect acoustics. If you ever go West, go to Temple Square, learn about the journey with handcarts through the plains and mountains, architecture of the city. Salt Lake City is a beautiful city.
I sang this with about 1500 other singers in a massive hall at the state hall in the German state of Hesse. I think it was the Kurhaus. First and only time in my life I broke into a hard sweat singing a song. It was ... stunning.
Even when you realize, that all Guardian angels of God are beside of you, ready to fight against the evel in the dark of desparation and grieve with his love and the holy spirit which enlights you suddenly like a flash
I generally have a dim view of humanity, but to think that a man could compose this wonderful tribute to the King of Kings raises it a little in my view. Holy Spirit inspired no doubt.
Probably the most heavenly and uplifting chorale ever composed. If all liturgical music sound as good as Hallelujah, then attendances in houses of worship would never decline. Kudos to the late, great German-born composer, G.F. Handel, Hallelujah!
Still the greatest piece of music ever composed. No wonder the King jumped to his feet while this was being performed for the first time. I've song this song my whole life and know all the vocal parts. It never gets old, it still makes me want to jump to my feet and celebrate life. My Christmas is not complete until I listen to this choir's Christmas songs.
I just don't know why but this helped me out during an anxiety attack and it seems weird but I was able to just listen to the music and focus on singing this song.
Weather if is Easter or Christmas, I need to hear this Hallelujah Chorus by Frederick Handle. It causes my spirit to soar to great heights. Very beautiful. Thank you.
Just a stunning performance! When I was in high school, our choir's tradition for years( and to this day, I believe) was that the final song of our Christmas concert was this one. But not only the choir sang, anyone from the audience was invited to come forward around the stage and help perform it. We had a small town high school, about 400 kids total. So, many people from town, not just parents, would fill the whole front of the auditorium. A choir of about 40 or 50 kids became an instant, multi-generational, community celebration of Christmas! It is one of my best high school memories! We rocked the place!
Yes ours did this as well. All 4 of the choirs/choruses, the whole symphony & band would play & I remember everyone even the whole audience singing along. It's such a powerful masterpiece that brings so much joy to everyone in the building & to this day whenever I hear it I get tears & goosebumps & my heart is filled with the Holy Spirit I can just imagine the angels in heaven rejoicing when they hear everyone singing it!!
I was paralyzed in bed last year and I heard Jesus say out loud to me - If you believe in me get up and walk💜🕊💜 I got up and not only walked but went for a walk outside. Praise God!!!!! GOD IS ALWAYS WORKING!!!! ✌💜🕊🙏

This. Favorite piece of music ever written. Whenever i hear it, i feel Christ in me. I love pop and rock, but it just doesn't have the same effect.

Ha. That's so cool
I too used to sing it in 2014 being a pupil in high school❤. Hello from Burundi, thé beautiful country in Africa!
It’s such a fun song to sing once the part is learned!
If it was the song that caused the king to STAND it must be good
When you see Jesus...and all you can do is fall down and worship Him.

Handel actually cried tears to his Servant upon finishing this oratorio…” God has truly spoken through me on this day!” 1741 AD

Thank you
This song played when my Dad went to heaven in 2006.
Sorry for your loss.
This might be the single most magnificent song in history.
No might be about it, it is.
It most definitely is
Along with Beethoven' ninth and the song of Joy version
AMEN!!♥️♥️✝️✝️
Yes it is. The king stood when it started. We stand for it ever since then.

Every time the women sing KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS and their pitch gets higher and higher, always touches my soul in ways I can't explain. Simply angelic.
That part always makes the hair on my back and arms stand up.
My sentiments exactly!
I used to could sing that high soprano but as I've gotten older I'm now more of an alto as my voice has gotten lower.
I completely agree. At that point, I feel like heaven and earth touch, and that's where I get a glimpse of heaven. I think Jesus had his hand on Handel's should when he wrote the whole Oratorio.
Nothing like the sound of a mass choir 🙏

Amen, thank you Jesus!
My Catholic school choir sang this at every Christmas concert. We closed the show with it. We were good, but not Mormon Tabernacle Choir good.
Even though a Christian Orthodox, I have to give it to these Mormon Choristers.. Their voices are pure heaven and take the celebration of Christmas to another level!
