When the main character realized he wasn't the main character.
You don't know who Tim Kennedy is.
No, it's just that there's always a bigger fish. And realizing that is a great learning experience.
There’s these strange moments where you’re like and “I got to carry water!” and it’s like bigger than the things that the civilians think are awesome and impressive... LOL
There’s the Tip of the Spear and then there’s the cutting edge...
Being humble and accepting that supporting role is what usually happens but sometimes the humbling takes other forms.
It’s a really big team and only as strong as the weakest link with everyone and everything usually depending upon someone they’ve never seen and never heard of...
So it’s important to get it right. Because you never just never know what you don’t know... or how things are going to go.

Something that I learned very quickly by pure luck was that if you don’t know who you’re speaking to, you give that individual the utmost respect possible. Trust me, being friendly to a stranger can be a world of happiness if they’re important… being a jerk can put you in a world of pain
Just be nice because it is the right thing.
But if you can't .....
Be smart
Abso-frickin-lutely
Sure.. I agree ultimately… but clearly from your statement. You’ve never been elite at anything you’ve done.. when some random comes and infers you’re ultimately “ slacking “ on your job you aren’t showing the “ respect “ you’re referring too. Continue to be a good person I respect that, but disrespect your wife before you throw shade to actual warriors for being “ jerk “ when life and death is actually on the line

I was a Ranger, and I don’t think most folks appreciate the story. You had the cream of the crop, top-tier, legendary, delta force come inspect their security perimeter, and make sure green berets had interlocking sectors of fire. Something every infantryman is taught on day one, and they were making sure special forces, were meeting the standard. It goes to show how easy it is to be successful but how taken for granted that can be. Great, have a great night.😂

Trust but verify
Inspect what you expect.
SF are supposed to be infantrymen at their foundation, and as SF they have to have mastered the basics. when you get up that high, it's easy to let the basics fall by the wayside.

I was about to ask if it was the same person he was talking about…
Thanks for the clarification!!
Great story brother. I was in the 8th Inf Div in Mainz back in 87.
I worked for a grocery company as a project manager doing remodels. It was a high end community where I was at. A coffee shop kiosk had just been installed by the main entrance so I went and sat down to right some notes down. An older gentleman sat at another table. A woman came in pushing her cart and she dropped a tissue. I got up and threw it away. The gentleman asked me why I did that and I told him I worked for the company and I was a representative trying to keep the store clean.
Do you work at this store?
No sir I’m just here for part of the day. I will be going into the office later.
A few days went by and the President of the Division called all of our Department together for an announcement. The gentleman asked me if I remembered him.
Yes sir.
I used to be the President of this Division.
So he explained to everyone what I did that day and presented me with a plaque of appreciation.
I was confused after reading this.
In my country old people used to have
multi-use tissues made from fabric, and I was wondering if the woman was mad at you for throwing it away hahaha
I understood after reading the ending that this was a paper tissue
You did a small thing, but a great job.
Iwas just a regular 11B/11M grunt no special forces or none of that, but when i was stationed at Ft Benning as a squad leader my friday safety briefing always included to remind the Grunts be mindful how you talk and act on Victory Drive because Benning has Special Forces/Rangers and your mouth may get your ass handed to you, shout out and respect to those operators,,they take no shit.
All I can say is, he's lucky Di'Tomasso was in a good mood that night. From boot camp on, he knows you render custom & courtesies to any soldier you don't know, it could be a fellow private to a 4-star, nobody wears rank in field or in country. I'm "Doc" Harris, Ex Army Infantry Combat Medic 10th Mountain Division. My Platoon was out on routine patrol, no moon that night heavy cloud cover. We didn't know the terrain (ya don't until ya walk it a few times) and our pointman walked off a 15-20ft cliff. I'm in the middle of our column, I heard the most God awful smack/thud up ahead. I popped out of column ran to the front and asked what's up? All they said was they heard point scream out. With my flashlight out I quickly walked forward, found the edge of space , shone the light down there he was, lying on his back face up, I quick looked to my left and saw a ravine heading to to him, like a shot I ran down to him, did what I was trained to do, got him good and stabilized, I called out 4 names from my Platoon to be my 4-man Litter team, we got him back up to surface, me still holding his I.V. bag I called the Sir over and told him "He's got a couple broken ribs, some probably fractured, he's lost a couple teeth but none of that worry's me Sir, I'm more concerned about internal bleeding, that's life threatening Sir, we need a dustoff like yesterday, because every time his heart beats he's making his situation worse. I told him he could have a ruptured spleen, kidney, be developing an embolism. Dustoff got there in 15mins flat. I made sure I tagged him with my field triage and off he went. C/O called 60min mandatory rest then back on mission. Little did I know, before all the drama, the battalion C/O Col. Stevens was third to last man behind me in the column. During rest break, he comes over to me and says "You did great work back there "Doc" not knowing who he was I just simply said "Thank you my man, but I'm just doing my job and I love doin' it. My guys know I will move heaven & earth to come for them". He said "that's great to hear, the trust between a grunt and his Doc is a sacred one". I just said you damn Skippy, smiled and gave him a fist bump. He got up and left. My saw gunner Herrera says "Doc, who the F was that? I'm like I have no idea but he was cool, probably another Sgt. wishing me well. 2wks later I get ordered to the Battalion Commanders office and to report properly. Scared shitless out of my mind because I had no idea what I had done to get the invite and knowing full well with stroke of a pen he can send my ass to Thule Greenland next day. I do my door raps, wait to be called in, report, put at ease. Same guy from two weeks ago reads me the Army Commendation Medal blah, blah, blah, then puts on me. Shakes my hands tells me great job and that I reminded him of HIS medic in Vietnam when he was a green Lt. He said watching you in action was just like watching him. I thanked him, then the Command Sgt. Major, the best the Army ever had CSM Heckert dismisses me, and says as I'm walking out the door "Head back to the barracks and change uniforms, I know you shit yourself twice on the way up here Doc and we busted out laughin' and I said yeah I did. The guy in this video as I said was lucky Di' Tomasso was in a good mood that night. Delta Force Commander??!! Man I'd faint wake up, then ask "I'm going to Thule Greenland for 13mths aren't I ?
Wow. That was a rollercoaster of a read, sir.
I'm sure that was one hell of an honor, and I can only imagine how much that moment meant to you. However, I can tell just from reading your short story that, nothing meant more to you than having the honor of moving heaven, and earth to save, and render aid to your guys when they needed you. I don't doubt that this, along with your skill & proficiency, is what your C/O, Col. Stevens, saw in you too. Except he saw it first hand, in the field, and I'm sure that was profound. Especially considering that you reminded him of *_his own_* medic from back in Vietnam.
Your platoon was blessed to have you, sir.
Doc, I know it's not worth much, but sincerely, thank you for your service. Also, thank you for sharing that incredible story of yours. It almost felt like I was right there with you during those moments while I was reading it. I don't know if you've published any literature, but if you haven't, I don't doubt that you would excellent at writing novels. Whether they're they're nonfiction about your own experiences, or fictional novels that draw from your experience, and expertise in the field. Hell, even if it had nothing to do with the military at all, I'd for sure still buy it & read it. Either way, it was a privilege to read the story that you took the time to write, and post here, on it's own. I'm grateful to have stumbled across it.
Anyway, Sir. I trust that all is well with you & your loved ones (especially considering they have good ol' Doc around).
Best wishes to both you & your family.
And again, thank you, sincerely.
Take care, Doc.

I went to Norwich with DiTomasso. I remember him from the Mountain Cold Weather Company. That tended to be the organization there that attracted guys like that. He was sharp as a cadet but has become fairly famous as an SF/Delta guy since then.
95 Grad here. We all learned of him from my rook year in 91.
Fellow black hat checking in!
Did he have some gold chains and a mohawk??? If not, that's NOT the A-Team.
Awesome!!
But I guess he did pity the fool
his ego was so big he couldn't help being a rude jackass to a fellow soldier on his team. speaks a lot about this blokes ability. you show respect to everyone on your team regardless of who they are
2nd guy comes - why do I have the red lazer.
Tim Kennedy tell the best stories...😂😂😂😂 He's hilarious. 👏🤣
Operators are a rare and very mind blowing bunch … warriors who I hold in the highest regard and truly admire attributes that I could only dream of having the endless commitment it takes to become who they are .. DELTA is at he top in my humble opinion ..
melt away into the millaw mountains range, , the world haven’t even known our presence there
It is the top
what's an operator? like surgeons? or the people who operate the switchboards in the base? I'd rather be a special forces soldier, looks like fun what these guys do... I've done a lot of it in call of duty
@@slapjuicespecial forces operator. So the elite of the elite. Team 6 is tier 1 navy seals. And the elite elite of the elite tier 1 are Delta Force from the Army.
@@mojojojo6400 as in they are operators of missions? I thought they were special forces soldiers
There are task forces on the SOC that you'll never hear of Delta and Six are the ones that are known. There are 20 SOG Teams that never get talked about.
This the clown who had his daughter kidnapped on camera to teach her a life lesson lmao he's a horrible representation of a US Soldier
Ditamasso was my neighbor on Ft.Benning .Living legend!!
I Thank these Guys for their dedication. Fighting for G.O.D. Stealing Gold, Oil and Drugs for elite Federal departments. -Pat Tillman
I love how this guy interviews people 😊
"I dont know who the f__k that is." 🤣🤣🤣
"Lucky to be here." Classic example of the Spartan mindset. 🇺🇲
"he know what he's doin over there?...ah shit lemme go ask real quick"
Click to make Shawn get shriek on here for a nice long interview. Let’s make it happen, gents.
Either Shrek or Tom Holland
I feel sorry for Tim Kennedy you could tell he’s a kind of guy that miserable
My dad told me stories about his time in the Middle East, and he would talk about how badass the SF, Rangers, Delta, etc. all were. He said he met a French SF dude who was borderline psychotic, was a super badass, and also super chill😂
Impossible…Psychopath and super chill are polar opposites lol
@@Rembo318that's what makes them a psychopath
@@Rembo318Psychopathic doesn't mean some screaming maniac.
It's more like devoid of emotion and devoid of empathy. If you've met someone who just can't be phased, shows zero concern about anything and gives you the creeps like he's a predator... avoid them. 😂
@@MrDucktastic Hmm.. functional psychopaths are actually *more* likely to be super chill, huh?
I have been studying up a lot on George Washington because I admire him greatly. I honestly wish he could see what the American military has become. He would be so proud and impressed. I always like to sit and think about what the founders would think about how huge and amazing this country has become. How much their sacrifices paid off. Minus all of the lunacy of today, of course.
SHREK MCPHEE NEXT!!
Walked outside our tents one night to see them operating some drone from the back of a technical, all in civilian clothes looking bout sneaky as hell. They just looked down at me and then drove off somewhere else, never even said a word.
This is one of the funnier stories I imagine happening with these guys. 😂
I'm just a nasty civilian, am I allowed to be here?
I've been in the game a long time, but the time I met Delta sniper team in Syria still stands out. They We were hunting a scumbag who'd been shooting kids in a village we were doing air support for the FDS. I'd crossed paths with Delta before on other missions, but this guy was something else. Big dude, looked like he was born for combat, but it was those tomahawks of his that really made him a beast in close quarters. Damn, I thought to myself, it's an honor to fight alongside these legends.
Why does this sound like a copypasta😂?
Why don’t these shorts ever link to the full interview
Because YT wants you to have a shorter attention span just like tik tok
Just subscribe to his podcast on one of the multiple platforms and watch or listen to it. It will take you a minute max.😂
Top right corner, shows you which show it is. Also, these shorts are often sneak peeks, and the full episode is released a week after. Nothing to link to when the short is posted.
Subscribe to him. All episodes are top rate and much longer and in depth.
@@lissee212 fair point, however some channels seem to perhaps not realize linking full vids in shorts is also a feature of the UI.
Some creators do link their videos, others dont, and some dont even know its a thing yet and it blows their mind because it does help with engagement.
Man is talking about them like he saw bigfoot😂
“Yeah, lucky to be here…” absolutely legendary response 😂
When Tim Kennedy and Shawn Ryan go whoa that guys THE BADDASS then you know that guy is THE BADDASS lol
Tim Kennedy is no badass. He’s a coward who is anti-2A.
These fucking stories man I can listen all day.
If only there were podcasts for ww1 and ww2 veterans
Fun fact: In order to be part of a CIF company you have to complete a course called SFARTAETC....quite possibly the mosf hilariously absurd acronym in a military that is filled with ridiculous acronyms.
Ya when everyone went digital camies, old tri color, ore even tiger strip and chocolate chip deserts camis became the calling of the cool guys
This dude inspired me to go to the range in a full kit I got at the army surplus store. I yell "War Thunder"! every time I reload.
People complain about the amount of money spent on our defense budget (including myself), but knowing guys like these exist to protect us makes it's all worth it.
Navy SEABEEs have or had SERT teams seabee engineer reconnaissance team . Came under small arms fire for about a hour and they were victorious in taking out the enemy with 50 cal . That’s what the other part of the Navy also did and does 😊
“I don’t know who the f*** that is” lol🤣
Tim is as honest as they come. Lol funny as fuck too
Thank You for fighting for all of us.
Oh One of the Soldiers involved in Operation Gothic Serpent......Thats a very serious Man😮😅😅😅😅😂😂😂
Doesn't this guy believe in gun control?
Probably
@@garyj6223 Yeah, not down with this poser.
Please tell me exactly what it is in your mind that makes him a poser ??
@@CodyPierce-iz5es HE BELIEVES IN GUN CONTROL.....Damn!! Are you dumb?
The guy that thinks aliens invented the Nazis and he's here to save the day 😅
‘SIF’ Team??? He means a ‘CIF’ Team! Hooah
All I know about the A Team is Mr. T’s gold chains looked heavy. 😅
"Lucky to be here". Damn. I'm glad these men are out there.
Pulling security for the rest of us Elmer Fudds. Shhh!
“Holy shit” Shawn probably
That's why he did it. saw the laser and as you were.
they are all normal guys. i remember being super disappointed when i went through combatives with them and they all got beat up by regular infantry guys. i was hoping the legends were true and that these guys were rambo.
A good interview would be Bucky Burruss Or Jerry Boykin.
Gonna start delta-forcing at the corporate office…
*walks up to random co-worker*
“What’re you doin’?”
“Did you account for market fluctuations in your 3rd quarter sales forecast?”
“Great… have a great night!”
*vanishes like batman*
Holy moly. This is an absolutely brilliant interview. The questions you ask, the way he articulately tells his stories, and the fact that you can listen without interrupting made this an absolute gem of an interview. I feel like im gonna need a few hours after this just to process how crazy some of his stories were. What a guy.
That must’ve been an amazing experience to be on a team like that!
I live next to FORT BRAGG!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!❤❤❤❤
So that guy was “the sharpest knife in the drawer!”😮😎
When Master Chief checks up on you during a raid.
Something in Tim’s eyes just ain’t right…
No ground force guy at any level is the sharpest tool in the military arsenal.
Oh man, if they're so high up and skilled at what they do, that a delta force operator didn't even have a clue at first.. it's like some sort of super soldier James bond stuff..
Dude looks like Rob Schneider and Jake Gyllenhaal's love child.
