The Bible has more than a few verses/passages that 'appear' on their face to allude that actual born again christians 'might not make it' to heaven...Getting proficient in discerning CONTEXT will quell a lot of fears by discovering that that's NOT what the words are really saying. It's seems some are easier to dispel than others though, but I am convinced that PROPER context will always prevail. There is, however, one argument that stands SUPREME against any such 'inferences'... It's the UNDENIABLE statement in SO MANY instances that believing on Jesus IMMEDIATELY causes us to come into POSSESSION of...eternal life. So, at the very beginning of my salvation I HAVE, what? ETERNAL LIFE! Then, by definition, eternal life SIMPLY CANNOT END...if it did, for any scenario you try to conjure up, or how much, seeming, scripture you hold up to prove that it CAN - it can't. Otherwise it was NEVER eternal in the first place...and since Jesus HIMSELF said it WAS - Is Jesus a liar??? I contend that there simply IS no argument to mount against that ...Anybody?

Rightf gospel for the commonwealth nation of ISRAEL, WRONG gospel for us alive today AFTER the cross.
Wonderful, 100% true *doctrine for the nation of Israel* to follow BEFOR Jesus died for ISRAELS PAST sins on the cross nearly 2 centuries ago.
At that time in history, salvation was still of the Jews in ISRAEL.
      John 4:22
John was just one of the 12 JEWISH apostles commissioned to preach Jewish Mosaic law to the Matthew 10:5,6; 15:24 JEWISH "lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Compare those verses with the letters our apostle Paul wrote to us today in the "Ephesians 3:2 "dispensation of the grace of God":
Jesus, by the hand of our apostle Paul says:
"Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through *faith in his blood,* to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;" - Romans 3:25
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ...
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but *sin is not imputed when there is no law."* - Romans 5:8, 12-13 KJV
"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. ...
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." - Romans 6:11, 14 KJV
There are two different and apposing Gospe's in the bible, written to two different groups of people, and two different periods of time.
"God, who at *sundry times and in divers manners* spake in *time past unto the fathers by the prophets,"* - Hebrews 1:1 KJV
Also consider Genesis 1:1 God created the land for ISRAEL, and the heaven for GENTILES/HEATHEN.
Hope this helps. Grace and peace

Do you believe that you are one of the circumsized JEWS in the commonwealth nation of ISRAEL BEFORE Jesus died for all your sins on the cross?
      2 Corinthians 5:18-21?
John was commissioned by Jesus during his earlthy ministry to preach the law to Jews in Israel. Not you or I today in the "dispensation of the grace of God" according to Ephesians 3:2.
Jesus appointed John as on of the twelve jewish apostles who were commanded to NOT share his MOSAIC covenant with the likes of you or I.
So what makes you think Jesus is speaking this to you, at a ttime KNOWONE KNEW that he would be crucified until AFTER Mark chapter 26?

      ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬
Sure, you CAN KNOW based upon a present tense faith as the condition of receiving eternal life. The passage clearly has the condition of a present tense faith in order to have a present tense knowing that you have eternal life. Faith, or saying the Sinner's Prayer 20 years ago, then living in unbelief for 20 years till today, does not meet the condition of a present tense belief.

      You are saved because of your faith in Christ, even though you still are a sinner. This person's video is teaching that you are still saved even if you once believed in Christ, but don't believe anymore. This is contrary to Scripture. John 3:16 for example, says;
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Notice it says you must believe in HIM to have everlasting life, NOT just believing at some point in your life, and then falling away from belief. The verses he uses to back up his claim are assuming that you still have faith in HIM, even though we still are sinners. You can sin and still be a believer in Christ, understanding that we sin out of weakness in our ability to overcome temptations to do wrong. We put our faith in HIM to save us despite ourselves, but this doesn't mean we stop believing in HIM at any point. Don't be fooled into thinking that you can still be saved even without belief in Christ.

Romans 11.22 states, "Note then the kindness and severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, PROVIDED you CONTINUE in his kindness; otherwise YOU TOO will be cut off.” This verse clearly shows that it is possible NOT to CONTINUE in his kindness. Notice that he is talking to people who are currently IN God’s kindness - in other words, those who are justified / righteous. He is confirming that these people can lose their salvation BY THEIR OWN ACTIONS. Paul knows salvation can be lost.

The demons believe and tremble, so they are overcomers? In Mark 5 Legion saw Jesus from afar and ran to him, fell down and worshiped him and acknowledge him as the Son of God, so was Legion an overcomer? We are saved by faith, but the question is, by what type of faith? and when by faith? We are saved by an obedient faith James 2 not a dead faith and saved by faith when one is baptized into Christ Gal 3:26-27, also Col 2:12 says we are raised THROUGH FAITH....talking about baptism. Can a believer become an unbeliever? Will they still be saved? Remember the disciples WHO WALKED WITH JESUS NO MORE". Those who practice the sins of the flesh, as Paul warns them in Gal 5, will they still be saved? Lastly, since repentance, confession ,sinner's prayer, baptism are not mentioned are they excluded. Matt 7:21 " says Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but he who DOES the will of my father in heaven" Peter says in Acts 2:38 "Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins". Lastly, when you do what Jesus has commanded you, you act by faith, and obey him, a living, obedient faith. again read James 2

If I commit sin after I am saved, it does not mean I am not saved any longer (or never to begin with), but rather I am out of fellowship with God.

For instance, Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8:13 believed but Peter told him that he and his money would perish and to repent verses 20-22. @Naty, So your looking at a believers Outward appearance, yet you fail to understand you yourself sin daily.
Jesus tried to explain how all sin is perceived in
Matthew 5, the sermon on the mount.
The two examples given indicate that anger and lust are sins, just as much as murder and adultery (Matthew 5:21-22; 5:27-28)
Jesus wasn’t condemning those who did these sins just like he didn’t condemn the woman caught in Adultery. His intent was to show us how ALL SIN is perceived in heaven and the need for a SAVIOR .
One sin is not any greater than the other so by you judging someone your no different than the Pharisees in that day.
They continually puffed themselves up and tried to make others believe they were setting the prime example of perfection yet they failed miserably at giving God all the glory. They glorified themselves.
We are saved by FAITH in JESUS CHRIST, PERIOD!
We don’t somehow ACHIEVE a certain amount of righteousness to enter heaven, we are supernaturally IMPUTED with HIS righteousness, HIS HOLY SPIRIT!
That Holy Spirit then works throughout our lifetime to hopefully bring us out of the bondage of our sins.
So the people your condemning are most likely being worked on, whether they come out of their sin before their death is not your concern what YOU should be doing is living on them. Hate the sin, LOVE the sinner, just as Jesus would do.

Possibly a case can be made that they were never truly saved in the first place, but a person who rejects and openly mocks Jesus, or throws in the towel and returns to their former sins and manner of life is not in a state of salvation. I think the following verse explains it clearly:
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. • @BibleLine
      @BibleLine  Год назад +1

The saving of Jesus is not qualified by your actions, efforts or latter change of life after believing in Him. To add works on the back end is to say that your faith is more than just faith. The Savior states that faith in Himself is the only aspect that saves a man into eternal life (John 6:47, John 5:24, John 3:15-18, etc…). Jesus would have stated “believe and see what your life is like afterwards… no change and I suppose you never believed.” I’m not trying to be facetious in that statement either. Salvation is free. Believing is a choice that any individual can freely make.
Why would it be better for these people to not have been born? Assuming this is regarding believers (which I tend to lean into that interpretation)… it’s because they are leading others to hell, perhaps even dragging other believers down from their faithfulness. That’s apostate living in its highest form, and there is great warning against this. Nonetheless, the belief of such individuals is what saved them and keeps them saved. You cannot look at the actions of a person and assume they weren’t saved or are not saved; it is incorrect. Scripture states “without faith it is impossible to please him…” The believer nonetheless can completely trash his life, and to say he loses salvation is a complete denial of clear foundational scriptures (cf Eph. 1:12-14, John 6:37-40, and 1 Peter 1:4-5). Highly trained theologians may disagree, but the Bible is very clearly on this issue. You cannot lose salvation after believing in Christ. There is no such thing as “never having salvation to begin with” either. (Calvinism and Arminianism are both false heresy).
The only factor is if an individual never believed in Christ; therefore he has never been saved. He could, and would be saved eternally the moment he believes.

I'm not talking about Calvinism or Arminianism.
I'm not of Paul or of Appollos.
Hebrews 6:4-6 clearly describes a falling away that is apostasy.
It is impossible to be saved, tread the Christ underfoot, and be saved again.
What I was talking about with never having been saved in the first place is more like you see in 1John3:10, those who have not love but are in fact children of the Devil, or else 2Cor11, the Devil's servants masquerading as servants of righteousness.
There are people who have thought they believed in Jesus, but only actually recited ths Osteen pledge, completely unaware of the immortal peril they faced for their sin.
Tackling one of the most disputed doctrines in Christianity is ambitious, but like all things in Christ, it requires humility to accept the fact sometimes Scripture tells us things we can't really understand.
As far as the original question goes, if it is a matter of fear, then the believer can have peace.
Backsliding is not apostasy, and incomplete understanding is not heresy.
We gain our salvation by repenting of our sin and asking Jesus to forgive us, knowing He alone can do so.
God gives us free will though.
We can just as easily embrace sin, and tell the Savior to keep His grace and we will gladly take our chances in Hell, suffering for all eternity.
I can't understand _why_ anybody would do something so blatantly foolish, but God certainly does not separate man from the _capacity_ to commit evil.

Great question. Salvation is not a process over a time span.
Salvation is immediately given to the individual who places faith in Christ for the full payment of their sin. Jesus died for your sin, was buried and is risen again. He paid for all of your sin. All you have to do is believe that He did it for you, and you receive eternal life. You are justified, born again, and sealed with the Spirit in that very moment.
There is a progress to be done, but that is after you are saved. You are given the Spirit that enables you to serve the Lord and please Him. This would come about through yielding to the Spirit daily. Yielding to Him is not was saves, but it is what we should do because we are already saved.

Seems to me a more important question to answer, is on that Scripture warns about all over the place. Which is: Can a person reject the faith they once professed. I can give a long list of passages that warn about this. Why is this topic never addressed? Of course, the typical knee jerk response is: "Then they never were really saved." But Scripture doesn't frame it that way.

      What about 2 Peter 2:20-22?
It says: 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”
      Or Hebrews 10:26-29:
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
It seems clear from those passages that a genuine believer can fall away and lose their salvation.

OSAS is a false belief. Salvation is a free gifts from God. We aren't under Moses law anymore but under Christ Law. If you trusted Christ and believe that great but you can't willfully sin. Like remarry after divorce, Jesus said if you remarry after divorce shall be called a adulterous. Adulterous can't enter heaven.

    • @BibleLine
      @BibleLine  Год назад +3

Nevertheless, Jesus died to pay for all sin of adultery. Of course the sin is wrong, but the sin is paid. If a believer willfully sins, his salvation isn’t lost, but his fellowship and closeness to God is lost.

@BibleLine See, Jesus(God) no remarriage after divorce. Paul said the only way to remarry is that the spouse must be dead. Jesus said if anybody ( lost or saved people) remarry after divorce shall be called adulterous. Paul said in Gal. 5:19-21 adultery can't enter the kingdom of God. So, there no way OSAS can be true. Christ didn't die so we can choose to sin in life. Hopefully, we will never change God's words. Jesus and Paul said the same.

    • @BibleLine
      @BibleLine  Год назад +2

I agree, the adulterous will not enter into heaven. The Spirit is what enters, and the Spirit cannot sin (1 John 3:7-9). Those who believe in Christ receive the Spirit (Eph. 1:12-14) as a blessing upon faith (Eph. 1:1-3).
Therefore, the sinful flesh (Gal. 5:16-21 will not enter heaven, but the Spirit will (5:22-23).
The believer in Jesus has both. This is why he encourages us to “Walk in the Spirit,” and not in the flesh.
It’s the same idea Jesus stated in John 3 “ye must be born again” - by the Spirit. Once you believe in Jesus, you are born again, and you have everlasting life (John 3:15-18).
Therefore the sin of adultery, when committed by the believer, does not wholly cancel his salvation. Rather, God is displeased because he chose to walk in the flesh. Salvation, nevertheless, stays in tact 100%.
      Hope this helps you.

I'm not sure what your question is. I would agree with you that you do have to believe just like the scriptures you pointed out. However, The idea that once you believe and it's impossible to fall away is just not biblical. Also, it doesn't follow common sense. Ask a parent who's child drifted away from what they were taught and ended up in prison. Of course their child believed them but selfish desires superceded their obedience to their parents. You wouldn't say that they didn't "truly believe" his parents. I get the appeal of this theology but it plays to people's desire for comfort and is not the balanced truth. Of course, there is a balancing act of God's grace and obedience through faith. Both need to be taught. I'm not a fan of churches that are all fire and brimstone either but the other side of the pendulum isn't authentic and intellectually honest if you read all of scripture either. I'm not sure if that was your point or not.
Also romans 4 4-5 is talking about works of the old testament law. If you read the whole chapter that context is given. The jews holding onto the old covenant is a consistent problem addressed in the new testament. Unfortunately that gets taken out of context to say you don't have to obey Jesus at at all. Just believe..... even Satan believed.....

You can’t. A true believer can’t. Not with that new heart, a new spirit, and the fear of the lord, they’re a new creation. Doesn’t mean they are perfect but I don’t know a true believer that CAN go sin crazy willfully, they have a new set of desires and become allergic to sin.
There were sinful things I was very into many years ago. I wouldn’t dream to do those things 🤢 today. I don’t think I could if I wanted to, in fact I’m not sure I can even want to. I got a firmware update and became a prisoner of righteousness. I’m still in the same old hardware so there are some issues, conflicts, my flesh remembers sin fondly but I sure don’t.
Ppl against Eternal Security usually describe people who weren’t really saved, a false convert, or easy believism.
Easy believism just acknowledges and professes Jesus crucified and resurrected but there’s no faith which produces fruit of obedience. They have the faith in the facts, but even demons believe and tremble. True faith that accesses grace produces the fruit of obedience. A child that doesn’t trust or put faith in a parent doesn’t care to obey said parent because they don’t believe what they’re being told.
Eternal life isn’t eternal life if it can be lost once gained. If a true believer is living in carnality, they won’t for long one way or another Gods gonna enforce his promises that you will obey 😂 he gonna learn his children 😂🏓… that’s how I came to repentance. I got sorted. He promised he’d put the fear of the lord in his people.
Now the fear of the lord is my delight and a treasure to me, probably also the most important thing to me.

To overcome means to believe? Yes, I may even agree with that. But believing is not a quick mental event occurred in the past. It is a continuous process of endurance and obedience to Jesus’ commandments. If after you believed, your faith dies down and you stop obeying Jesus’ commandments, Jesus is warning them, you should make sure to repent and go back to your original faith and obedience, otherwise he will come like a thief in the night, which is a clear reference to Matt 24: “ 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

@@kimwestwood8840 “A believer doesn’t stop producing fruits in life”
It depends on what you mean by believer.
If “believer” means simply someone that some time in the past decided to put his faith in Christ, then yes, such a “believer” may stop at any time to produce fruits. This is exactly the example described in Rev 3. Jesus is talking to a church, which is, by this definition, a community of “believers”. And he is threatening them because they stopped producing fruits.
If “believer” instead means someone who keeps the faith in Christ throughout his life, then no, such a “believer” will not stop producing fruits.
But you see, you cannot possibly disentangle faith and good fruits. Having faith *means* producing good fruits.
This is why osas is false. Osas tries to separate what is impossible to separate-faith and good deeds.
If you have faith you also have good fruits. But if you stop having good fruits, it doesn’t mean that you never had faith. It simply means you stopped having faith.
And it doesn’t matter that faith is a gift from God: of course it is! But as with any gift, we may decide to accept it or not. And even after accepting it, we may at any moment decide to throw it away. It’s purely common sense.
Yes, your faith can wither and die. This is why Jesus is so angry at the church of Sardis, because he sees their faith dying. And if your faith is dead, it cannot possibly save you.

To that listener, good. Osas is false. Many are called but few are chosen.

@@BibleLine There are many reasons, but let's look at a very simple statement in scripture.
If you do not forgive others, you will not be forgiven by the Father.
A belief in a one time salvation, then acting as an enemy of God is not scripture teaching. Yet just your own unwillingness to forgive , condemns you.
