2Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified. Observing the fruit (CHRISTIAN works) in your life is NOT adding to salvation. We are commanded to test ourselves. And how can one be warned about being disqualified if in fact (as OSAS says) it can't happen? What BOTH sides on this issue need to do is step back and stop waving their doctrinal flags. I sat in Joe Schimmel's church for 28 years and left 4 years ago for reasons other than this subject. So, I have my issues with him. Regardless he is being misunderstood. To the people of Blessed Hope Chapel and the followers of Joe Schimmel I ask you for what sin would Joe have committed that would exclude him from being with the Lord if he were to die at this very moment? Overwhelmingly I'm sure you would say, None!" Thus, if you hold that true then once Joe Schimmel was saved..., he WAS always saved. Shocking. I can't imaging saying it that way doesn't disturbs some of you. To the people of OSAS how do you account for the outwardly upstanding church member in every obvious regard who for years has cheated on his wife. Should his life end in the act of fornication and adultery how do you account for him repeatedly being in that act when he had the blood of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit (according to OSAS) to overcome his sin? Unless - Indeed he is disqualified What both sides need to do is put down their doctrinal flags and preach gratitude, respect and thankfulness for the price paid for their salvation. That (Christ and the price paid) should be the focus not these argumentative doctrines you each hold to. The truth is when the sinner stands before God on judgement day you will not be there advocating either point for or against their behalf and only THEY will be accountable to God for THEIR faith and how it was appropriated in their life.

I also believe we're saved through faith in Jesus. BUT, I don't believe we should just assume this gives us a free pass to do whatever we please. If you're willingly committing any kind of sexual immorality, lie, steal, cheat you NEED to repent and sincerely turn to him. WITHOUT repenting, then you're making a mockery of the Cross and are essentially re-crucifying the Lord. Now, of course, in Matthew 18:22, we see that the Lord's forgiveness is vast. So if you stumble, but turn to him with a repentent heart, never seeking to do it again, then he will forgive you.

The animal sacrafices all bled to death, Jesus Christ did not bleed to death! He died spiritually (my Gog, my Gog, why have you forsaken me) then he willfully pushed his head forward and gave up his spirit.

Jesus says to repent or parish. And thats enough for me. Turn from sin turn to jesus. Confess and he is faithful to forgive us to believers. Forget modern doctrines. Pray fast go to the word and follow jesus over well meaning pastors like this.

My problem is I’m worried I’m not truly believing, it scares me because I know deep within that I’m believing in the Lord and have faith in only him and him alone for my salvation. It’s just how I’m feeling and in my heart I’m terrified that what if my faith that I believe I have isn’t real and that I’ll go to Hell when the time comes. 😞

Question: There are two options--when we die we are either out of the dimension of time (some call the "eternal now") or we continue to be in the dimension of time. What passages in the Bible indicate that we will be OUT of the dimension of time? I have never found any that indicate this. There is one that is misinterpreted in Revelation 10:6 which simply means that they are "out of time" "times up" etc. It doesn't mean that the dimension of time will cease to exist.

If I do what I will not to do it is no longer I who do it but sin that lives in me. Rom 7:20. Sin is the culprit not me.

I think you missed the whole point. He was simply saying that if you’re saved, then there will be evidence of it. You know a tree by its fruit. You can’t see the wind but you see its effects just like we can’t see the Holy Spirit make us born again but we see the evidence of it. Looking for evidence of your salvation does NOT mean you must prove that you’re saved by doing certain good works. Faith without works is dead. The way you know that your faith is real is from your desire to do good works. This has nothing to do with Calvinism. It has everything to do with the work of the Holy Spirit regenerating us and giving us evidence that we belong to God. The Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. God wants us to have assurance of being saved, so he gives us evidence that He truly saved us when we trusted in Jesus Christ. That is not Calvinism. That is simply the truth of God’s word. It has nothing to do with having free will or not. That’s a separate issue.

The Bible doesn’t say faith alone. James teach not by faith alone. Also why are we spending so much time in a verses talking about the works of the law. There’s a difference between the works of the law and not being a slave to sin.

Paul warns us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith.
