I love the fonts and graphics overlays that MNF used in this era. It’s so classy and nostalgic.
If I could kill one thing in modern sports television, it would be the bottom ticker with scores of other games & news. I hate distractions like that.

Barry Switzer only takes 2 seasons to blow up the best cowboy team of all time. It wasn't really his fault, though. Jerry Jones messed his own nest when he fired Jimmy Johnson. I remember how deflated I was when those 2 events happened to my beloved Cowboys!! My dad used to say, "He's got more money than sense!"

    • @jasonfrye8790

And your dad was spot on! Still holds true to this day! If it wasn’t for our owners pride, we could easily have more rings, be it from keeping Jimmy Johnson or making other coaching moves throughout the years. He just wants coaches who will do what he wants. It’s sad! But LETS GO COWBOYS!!!

It wasn't 2 seasons. I think we get to another Super Bowl in 96 if Deion and Irvin don't get hurt in the divisional playoff. After that, I don't think you can blame Barry. Age and free agency took its toll on us.

96 Superbowl was with Aikman couching that offense and holding it together one last time for Jimmy.

I agree, the cap and "free agency" hasn't been kind to Jerry.
Its hard to build a Superbowl team as JJ has found out the hard way.
I'm happy the have Will McCray as basically the GM with JJ getting his last say "most times".
For a loooong time though, as fans we definitely went through the GM growing pains and cap hell. Jerry over paid for guys he liked..

I look at these Cowboys , and miss just how great they were. It would seem we were having so much fun with this success. But no. It was stress all the way. Especially considering the team they played the next week. When the Cowboys and 49ers got together it seemed the whole World just stopped. 1994 was one of those seasons where the Niners were not going to be denied 3 times in a row. Then we took our own 5th SB title the next season. And that would be the last time America's Team would get that far. And that frustrating drought looks to continue. Oh well . I'm in the Cowboys corner no matter what.

At just beyond the 15 minute mark when Dallas punts, Brock Marion's foot hits inside the endzone which would be a touch back putting the ball at the 20.
So it should have been placed at the 20 no matter what
Please God, let this be the year that we begin our 3rd dynasty

I’m confused why the announcer said it was a fumble and the Giants could have recovered it. I mean, it was there ball anyway so I’m confused. What am I missing?? And I agree, please let’s start another dynasty!! We definitely have the defense to lead the way!!

    • @SeanGrady90
      @SeanGrady90 Год назад +1

@@jasonfrye8790If a punting team player touches a punt without fully “downing it”, the return team can pick it up and advance it still - and if they end up fumbling when they try to advance it, they are allowed to wave off their advancement of the ball and take it where the punting team touched it.
Basically it’s a chance to risk-free return a live ball.

    15:18 - 16:43
I remember this but thought it was different.
I thought the Giants player caught the ball at the 2 yard line but fell down and as he fell his feet touched the goaline which is why it was ruled a touch back.
I also thought Barry Switzer screamed real flushed at the referee for a longer time but maybe that was the special teams coach.
But looking at this again, it was the right call. It was interference and the Cowboys player's foot was touching the dark blue banner of the endzone.
But it really didn't matter. Dallas went on to win this game insanely.

Makes me feel proud and sad at the same time. We continued to bleed out talent during 93 - 97 and without Jimmy there, Jerry didn’t draft aggressively nor was he aggressive in FA except for Deon. So many misses in the Draft. It took a UDFA QB in Romo to make us, somewhat credible and Jerry wasted his talent too. At least now we seem to Draft well but we have Dak that can’t beat out Kirk Cousins for the Pro Bowl….smh
