- Winner of this game gets home field advantage through out the playoffs. Memorable game for Cowboys RB Emmitt Smith, that legends are made of. I don't believe this game will stay up for long, so watch it while you can.

the Cowboys organization need to rewatch some of these games. This is cowboys football.
Emmitt’s toughness and resiliency in this game was maybe the most incredible thing I have ever witnessed. I
He earned that big contract earlier in the season and this game was probably the best performance of his career.
The gutsiest performance I've ever seen.
Emmitt Smith's performance that day was the greatest of any player I have ever seen, he put the entire team on his back that day.
000pp0pp0pppppppp00p00p0pp0
No doubt; Emmitt Smith had so many definitive games, but this one here has to be #1, considering the stakes and severity of Emmitt's shoulder. Great game, one of the best I've ever seen
MAN, I COULD WATCH EMMITT SMITH RUN ALL DAY..
HE DOES EVERYTHING A RUNNING BACK CAN DO RUN, BLOCK, CATCH PASES AS WELL AS ANY PLAYER ON THE TEAM, AND HE VERY SELDOM GETS TIRED..WHEN I WAS YOUNG, I WAS LIKE THAT..I CONSTANLY WORE OUT OTHERS, PLAYING FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, ETC..ESPECIALLY FOOTBALL..IN 100-PLUS DEGREE WEATHER, MY 'BREAK' WAS TAKING A DRINK OUT OF A HOT GARDEN HOSE, WHILE THE OTHERS RESTED, LOL..AND I PLAYED EVERY POSITION, THERE WAS, IT JUST CAME NATURAL..I PRACTICED CONSTANTLY TOO, THOUGH..ND I KNEW THE RULES OF EACH SPORT..THEY ASK ME TO ALSO REFEREE, BECAUSE THEY KNEW I WAS FAIR, NO MATTER WHICH SIDE SCORED THE MOST POINTS THAT DAY..I TAUGHT OTHERS THE RULES, TOO AND WOULD NOT LET THEM CHEAT..SOME DAYS THERE WOULD OVER 20 KIDS THERE..WE WOULD CHOOSE TEAMS, I WOULD PLAY WITH WHOEVER THEY CHOSE, WHETHER THEY WERE GOOD OR NOT, AND HELP THEM GET BETTER..
If you watched this entire game, you just did. He loaded the team on his back and said, "Follow me, boys!!"
if this game was in 2016 .. it would be flexed to NBC at 830..
I'm a Giants fan. But this was a football game and how it was meant to be played. What a game!!
Emmitt Smith went into legendary status after this game, blood & guts performance with basically 1 arm the 2nd half of this game. Just kept chugging along, rushing & receiving.
I believe John Madden, after the game, went up to Emmitt and praised him for his performance.
Wrong game. This is a meaningless end of the year game in 1994. The main thing memorable about it was how the giants took the ball at the end, ran straight at our fast (but small) defense, and pretty much ran out the entire 4th qtr.
@@brockgeorge777 This is Jan 94. It’s the 1993 season and this is the game I meant, Giants we’re a good team in 93, made the playoffs as a Wildcard finishing just behind Dallas
You are correct. I had the other video loaded, but pushed on this one instead.
@@brockgeorge777 All good man 👍
Emmitt Smith playing with a separated shoulder was the gutsiest performance I've ever seen. I watched it live and couldn't believe he was still in the game.
As a Cowboys fan I can tell you that Rodney Hampton was extremely frustrating. We knew it was going to him, the Giants fans knew it was going to him, and the Cowboys great defense knew it was going to him. Even so there wasn't much they could do to stop him. Unfortunately Rodney's mostly forgotten about today, and that's a shame. He was one the very best in the entire league during the early-mid 90s. No other running back gave the 90's Cowboys more problems on a consistent basis than Hampton did.
I remember you, Rodney, and I'll never forget. Tip of the hat, sir.
One of the Top Games of the 90's. This game made Emmitt Smith a "Legend" no matter how his career would've played out, everyone could point to this game and say...Emmitt played real BIG BOY Football today.
I have a Top 20 list of Pat and John games. One day I may have to post it. This game would be on the list no doubt. I put this one up with the St. Louis Cardinals vs the Redskins for the Division Title from the 1984 season. The intensity of that game was every bit the equal of this game. The Cards were hungry, and they played well, fought and kept fighting. This wasn't the 'Skins best team, but they were still good enough to be in position to win the always tough NFC East. Pat and John are so good with games like these. They play off each other very well, always pointing out several nuances that add to the drama. I still remember the call when the Cards kicker was running on to the field to try a somewhat long FG as the clock was ticking down and Pat ever so cool, lets the action dictate how he describes it. If you haven't seen it, check it out. The whole game played out so good that it makes that last call even more iconic.
One more. Cowboys at Lions 1981. Cowboys and Lions tied. Lions need this game "Baaaad" played Dallas as good as they could. Lions Head Coach Monte Clark did something many coaches would not even consider even with the amount of time left. You guys have seen it many times, especially back then. Questionable field position with less than 45 seconds left, its run it, run the clock out, play for OT. How many times have we seen this, and the team being ultra conservative more times than not winds up losing because of showing no confidence in your team, sets up for a sad finish. But not the Lions on this day. Needing this game to stay in the playoff picture, they went for it, and even with no timeouts and 2 plays gets it done right at the gun, and Pat and John deliver great commentary. Madden was brilliant with his observation that the Lions didn't kick the FG in FG formation. Brilliant. One of my favs.

watching this partly cause remember what a great game this was , but also just to hear Madden call the game , he was great , how u can tell how old u are ,...young ,.. Madden was the guy the video game named for ,..older ,.. Madden was great at calling a game ,..older like me , . remember him winning Superbowl coaching raiders,.. it's like when he died ,a part of the NFL died with him ,..🏈
I was 14 years old and so excited about this game because it was supposed to decide the division and a first-round bye in the playoffs. This was a gut-wrenching loss as a Giants fan because they came so close to winning this game and a division title. Had they won this game, they would have had a home-field advantage and a decent shot making the SB.
emmitt is one of the most clutch and best players ever.
I loved the intensity of this game. Some GREAT, hard running by both Emmitt & Rodney in the second half.
The Cowboys were the defending champs and not to be denied.
I separated my shoulder in a mountain biking accident once. The pain just doing normal things was so intense I could barely stand it. How Emmitt continued playing in this game is incredible.
Most important game cowboys won that season. Emmitt Smith hall of fame performance. Miss madden and Summeral they were best
That's the old NFC east I loved this game Emmitt Smith did his thing COWBOYS 4 LIFE
Great upload Richard!
One my favorite Cowboy games of all time. Emmitt played like the legend he is in this game. Carried the the team with one arm.
This was Phil Simms and LT's final season.
One of the best coach's JIMMY JOHNSON!!! Hello 👋🤗
This is the game that won Emmitt Smith the MVP. To think about this is the only time that a running back won the triple crown of running backs. Rushing yard title, NFL MVP, and Super Bowl MVP. No one has come close to winning all 3. The Cowboys and Giants were throwing everything they had at each other in this game and in the end the Cowboys came out on top. It have been low scoring, but whoever won this game had home field throughout the playoffs. Whoever lost would be having to win 3 games to get to the Super Bowl.
RIP John Madden. These were the games that he lived for. And this excitement he showed at 1:53:55 was the reason why he loved the game so much.
Those Apex jackets are everything
Ben Richardson facts..
I liked the starter jackets
Pat Summerall. The best in the business. The nuts. The GOAT.
Hearing Pat and John make the call, as well as this Cowboys era bring back bittersweet memories as a kid watching football in the 90s
Man seeing Emmitt trying to run favoring that shoulder still causes me the cringe these years later. This is what championship metal is all about new Cowboys fans. See this is how you do it! WIN BIG GAMES!!!
Thank you, thank you and thank you again for this video. This brought me back to my younger days. Cowboys for life!!!!!!
You're welcome Kenneth!! This was one of the greatest games I ever saw as a casual fan.🏈💖
Madden and Summeral were just awesome. Didn’t talk to much, just said what needed to be said. Let the game speak for itself.
The game that cemented Emmitt as one of the best ever!!!!!!
The Cowboys were probably the best team in football at that time, they just went out and got the job done.
The 1993 season was the farewell tour for the great Giants teams from 1986-1990 - and they damn near got the #1 seed and homefield advantage in the NFC.
This was a better game than the nfc championship game
Agreed!!!
I enjoy watching these old cowboy games. From a die hard cowboy fan.
This game put him into the hall of fame
Classic Emmitt. This is why he is the greatest of all time. He is not the fastest, strongest, elusive, quickest at all. Not even close compared to strength and speed of Payton, Dickeron, Brown, Peterson, nor the quickness and elusiveness of Sanders. He simply was not athletic.
What he had that trumps any other back is his decision-making. His patience. His vision. It was so great that to this day, he is the only back who despite the rushing titles, many yards and many records, he still gets no credit and most of it is given to his offensive line instead of him. Yet those who give the line credit are debunked by the fact that they were there before Emmitt, and they were never considered great or probowlers until Emmitt Smith arrived.
So the line didn't make Emmitt. Emmitt made the line. His vision and decision making was so superb that it looks like the line is always making holes but in reality, it's Emmitt's ability to see and recognize the holes prior and during a run as he made it to the line of scrimmage with his vision, patience, and decision-making. How else do you explain the highlights of him just running up the middle as soon as he gets the ball, or making a cut and finding holes as soon as they develop as if he knew where the hole would be. You can't say speed because he wasn't the fastest and you can't say he had a great line when they were there before he arrived and was never considered great or probowlers, and when some of them left he was still great.
It was vision and decision making. This is what gave him longevity. This is why he is the GREATESR OF ALL TIME.
Agree he was smarter than the rest.
Emmitt was a Warrior that day!
I still have my Starter jacket. That thing is indestructible!
Thanks 504! p.s. Coach Reeves played with Dallas in Super Bowl V.
The Emmitt Smith game, what a tough player
One of the all time great games for both teams with an all time great performance from Emmitt Smith.
Thanks for the upload!
Actually I have observed games are staying up longer since NFL started to post games of their own
sports fan No point in removing them since they are doing the same thing.
This is they 🌞 Sunday night special
If you want a word to describe Emmitt Smith, I'd say "Guerrero," which means "Warrior" in Spanish.
Well... this video been up for 6 years now brother. I saw in the description you thought it would be taken down quick. Thank you for posting
That's a great observation, Kevin. I forgot it's been six years since I uploaded. I'm glad the NFL didn't take this game down. Emmitt Smith playing with a painful injury to his left shoulder is the stuff that legends are made of.
I went to middle school with John Jett, punter Cowboys.. cool. Consistent kicker
What a game!! As a Cowboys fan the Giants gave them everything they had and if it wasn't for superman they would have won this game!!!
This was one of the last regular season NFL games CBS would broadcast. They lost the NFC package to FOX 3 weeks earlier. There final broadcast would be the NFC Championship featuring these same Cowboys. Sad that FOX turned Madden into a catchphrase puppet shell of his former self.
metlife247 And the Broadcasting world hasn't been the same since December 18th, 1993.
When the boys didn’t choke games away good old days.
1993 Cowboys arguably the best team in NFL history.
Rich, do you have Giants at Cowboys from 1995? That was a surprisingly close game late in the season.
That's another game I don't have but would like to see. Thanks for suggesting it.
Watching these old games really highlights how bad K.Williams was.
Amazing part about Emmitt Smith.. 49ers went after his injury. And they paid the price for it.. As Dallas walked all over them. Twice for doing it....
Amazing
Hold up isn't this the same game when Emmitt Smith BTW I'm a die hard cowboys fan that he supposedly injured his shoulder or ribs because years later after he retired he admitted he wasn't hurt there was nothing wrong with him but I get it Jerry Rice use to do all the time then go out a make 3 TD Catches I guess that's part of the legacy & Lengend of Emmitt Smith
I love Dan Reeves, but I kinda wish Parcells had stayed past the 90 season and resigned after this year.
Mark Jackson dropped so many passes in this game.
This is my favorite Cowboys vs Giants rivalry game and the Cowboys beat the Giants in their own game.
the idea of division winners having higher seeds than wild card teams that have better records is ridiculous
time to remove seeding priority for division winners
without that, the Giants would have had the second seed and a first round bye in 1993
Green Bay would have played at San Francisco, and Minnesota at Detroit
NFL long time fans should remember that the super bowl used to be at the end of january
There was no week off before the Super Bowl because of this season having two byes per team
This is week 18 of the 1993 NFL
My man deuce deuce isn’t playing around. I’m not even at point where he separates his shoulder
Correction: Week 18
This is from week 18
Yes, this was the 1 year the league went to a 2 BYE season.
Duh. Thank you captain obvious
Hahahaha.. Mike Irvin: " Take it like a man!" Take looosing like a man! "
How 'bout them COWBOYS!!!!!!
Erik Williams stud !!!!
Stud on steroids and cocaine
Do you have the niners Giants divisional playoffs from a couple weeks later? I used to have all these games
Surprisingly nobody has posted this game anywhere and I haven't seen it yet.
Richard Waldrup What about the Packers/Cowboys divisional matchup that happened at the same time it was 49ers/Giants and the Packers/Lions wildcard game??
Richard Waldrup Also the Giants/Vikings 93 wildcard game??
1:33:27 The last sack in the storied-legendary career for Lawrence Taylor.
Any chance u have the bucs packers 1985 snowgame??
I have the game, but the NFL won't let me post it to RUclips.
..JOHN MADDEN:"IT'S GOOD NEWS WHEN YOU CAN PICK UP THE HELMET AND THE HEAD'S NOT IN THERE"..HAHAHA!
Week 18...were there two bye weeks in the 1993 season?
Yes, there was, but I don't know how that came about.
@@survivor5044 OK, here's what I found on Wikipedia:
It was the only season in league history where all NFL teams were originally scheduled to play their 16-game schedule over a span of 18 weeks and did so (the league again played 16 games over 18 weeks in 2001, but this was caused by the postponement of a week of games due to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks), where all of the Week 2 scheduled games were moved to an 18th week and the entire postseason was delayed by 7 days before starting). *After the success of expanding the regular season to a period of 17 weeks in 1990, the league hoped this new schedule would generate even more revenue. This was also done to avoid scheduling playoff games on January 1 and competing with college football bowl games.* The NFL's teams, however, felt that having two weeks off during the regular season was too disruptive for their weekly routines, and thus the regular season reverted to 17 weeks immediately after the season ended. 2021 marked the first season where an 18-week schedule would include 17 regular-season games.
Zeke Elliott was and is not somebody that can pick the team up and lead it to victory in clutch games, neither can Prescott. A team has to have those types of players.
Fans going back to watch 1990s games because today they suck!
Giants made to many mistakes against a great team
Giants last play of regulation on 3rd and 2 I would have pounded Hampton up the middle.
I wish the super bowl would move back to the end of januaru
You're going to have to eliminate the exhibition season to do that. Not happening. Ever.
