Man, there was nothing like these Dallas Cowboys during that era! They were what the Pittsburgh Steelers were in the 1970s. Had Jimmy Johnson not left they would have won 4 Super Bowls like the 70s Steelers did, instead of 3, possibly 5, or even 6. With Jimmy this team was built to win championships over a long period of time, and yes they were 'built' to be called "the greatest team ever " , but came up just short of being called that. Instead, they're called the best team of the 1990s.
Hard to believe that the Cowboys would play in Giants stadium for two of those three weeks during that season. Two weeks after this game, Emmitt Smith, would suffer a separated, shoulder… And the rest was history.
Remember this game well, I was 13. Sadly the Jets would lose the game and every other one going 8-8 and missing the playoffs. Should have kept Coslett another season and kept this team together for another run.
Yes, it is strange. The only other time I can recall that happening was in 2003. Dallas played at NYG in Week 2, then a bye week, then they were at the Jets in Week 4.
Rewatching these games I can see why Emmitt is the NFL's all time leading rusher. He picks up 1 to 3 yards after he gets hit and tackled every time if not more. He keeps moving forward and fights for every inch. On top of that he breaks away for long runs often.
Or if not the Super Bowl it would be really exciting to see them at least return to the NFC Championship. If they make it to the NFC Championship this season. I will declare this a fantastic season.
Absolutely embarrassing game by the jets .. just ridiculous.. 30 % of the crowd were cowboy fans... 5 turnovers still lost by 21 .. this started another late season collapse lost last 3 to miss the playoffs again what a joke
People remember Kevin Smith now, if they remember him at all, as the guy who got destroyed one time by Randy Moss and as the “other” Cowboys CB to Deion Sanders. Less recalled is how good he used to be as the Cowboys best corner and that it was an injury to this budding star that caused them to go out and get Deion in the first place. Evidence of how good he (and Larry Brown) abounded in the 1993 season. This game provides a few examples as does the fact that *nobody* got behind the Cowboys defense that year. Jerry Rice and John Taylor had two shots at it that year and came up short each time.
Its a shame that you haven't heard the names of some of these cowboys that were huge part of their success and that are now forgotten about. Alvin Harper was a huge part of the offense. He was a deep threat on the other side of the field of Irvin. He was a high jumper and Aikman was able to throw it to him into coverage make sure it was high enough that Alvin could get it but not the defensive backs. Jay Novachek was a big target accross the middle or an out. Those two opened up the field for Irvin and Emmitt's slant passes.

Love these old telecasts where you had to pay attention with no score. no first down yellow line, no clock, no distance and yardage displayed on the screen for most of the game.
The Cowboys were just sloppy in the first half and were lucky to have a 7 to 0 lead. They turned it on in the second half and beat a team they were supposed to beat.
The Cowboys had a mid-season swoon that saw them play 4 mediocre games in a row, losing to the Falcons and Dolphins (the infamous Leon Lett game) and barely squeaking by the lousy Cardinals and Eagles at home. But then they took off, blowing out the Vikings and Jets on the road, the Redskins at home, winning the epic OT game against the Giants to clinch the #1 seed and then were never seriously challenged in any of their 3 playoff wins.
I was at this game and was happy to see the Cowboys win. The Jimmy Johnson years were great.
Yes they were
Me too
I have to say this is the best cowboys team ever
1977 was the best Dallas Cowboys team ever.
77 was the best Dallas team I agree but the 92 team was better than this 93 team I'm a huge Dallas fan but the 77 team was a juggernaut

Remember this game so well. The stadium was full of Cowboys fans!
Love watching the Jimmy Johnson teams you can tell the difference in coaching once he left 😢
Loved it that Kevin Smith after his interception td went straight to the Marines so their moms & daddies would have that moment.
I sure miss the good old days😢
Love the pre game intro in the description. This is what its all about
At 3:16 of this video Verne Lundquist calls our team the cowgirls, maybe because they're kicking everybody's ass at the time.
Lundquist didn’t even know the name of Texas A&M after being sports broadcaster in Dallas for decades! He’s a dumb shit if ever there was one!
"I can't hear you, I've got a jet in my ear!" Pat Summerall, a classic.
Verne Lundquist

Last NFC team to win Back-to-Back Super Bowl's
Remember this game well, I was 13. Sadly the Jets would lose the game and every other one going 8-8 and missing the playoffs. Should have kept Coslett another season and kept this team together for another run.
The Jets had back to back late season collapses in 1993 and 1994. And it was with 2 different head coaches. Bruce Coslet and Pete Carroll.
YOURE THE MAN!!!!!!!!! 👊🏼
See how committed they were to atleast run attempts
Pretty weird schedule for Dallas. Having to come to Giants Stadium twice in three weeks.
Yes, it is strange. The only other time I can recall that happening was in 2003. Dallas played at NYG in Week 2, then a bye week, then they were at the Jets in Week 4.
@@RyansCowboysCorner I remember that. They had 2 wins at the Stadium & between The Giants & Jets they had one.
@@RyansCowboysCorner Do you have next weeks game with Washington?
@@cbod14 Yes, it is already up on my channel.
@@RyansCowboysCorner bill parcels first year
I miss those Jets uniforms.
Thank you for this upload 🙌
Awesome, been wanting to see this game! 🏈 I forgot about Ronnie Lott playing for the Jets
I forgot Boomer assassin played for the Jets
It was forgettable. Which is why you don't remember
Me too
Is that Pete Carol on the jets sideline??
Yes, he was their defensive coordinator in 93.
Rewatching these games I can see why Emmitt is the NFL's all time leading rusher. He picks up 1 to 3 yards after he gets hit and tackled every time if not more. He keeps moving forward and fights for every inch. On top of that he breaks away for long runs often.
1:32:56 now that's embarrassing .. first td in 4 games ?! wtf lol
Pete Carroll was the defensive coordinator for three years and head coach in 1994. Wow…Never knew that.
It's been a long time since these days. But I fully believe Dallas will return to the Super Bowl in 2 years.
I hear ya! It might even be a little sooner than that at the rate their going! Maybe this year or the next you never know, but only time will tell.
Awkward silence
Or if not the Super Bowl it would be really exciting to see them at least return to the NFC Championship. If they make it to the NFC Championship this season. I will declare this a fantastic season.
I sure hope so!
Yeah if the triplets come back.
Real football 90s the last of a great decade in the NFL …. Not now we watching wwe everything is fixed
Erik Williams my man !!!
Johnny Johnson is a GOOD running back. And though Emmitt Smith won rookie of the year in 1990.....Johnson got the Pro Bowl nod over Emmitt.
I call Pete Carroll the "Crimson Chin" from the cartoon.
PRICELESS MAGIC WANDS EMPRESS HEAVENS ❤❤❤

THe thing I remember about this game is apparently there were some tense words between Jimmy Johnson and Bruce Coslet after the game.
1:36:20 unbelievable same ol jets lol .. they had some good momentum going .. 21-7 but driving with plenty of time smh
Kevin Smith was going to be a great one but he never really recovered from a knee injury a couple seasons later.
