30 + years ago this game was played, I can’t believe that much time has passed, where has the time gone, I was in my 20 s enjoying life, I wish I’d known then what I know now, this was the best era of football 🏈
I was 5, on my birthday my uncle got me a Dallas cowboys T-shirt. It was too big and reached my knees, but it introduced me to Dallas and a few weeks later I watched them win the SB. All of us in different times of our lives, with different stories, but tied together by a great era of Cowboys football...
Arguably Reeves was better. He had a worse team but they nearly pulled it out. Jimmy went to Miami in a few years and would show he was a decent coach but without a team full of hall of famers he didn’t have the same success…
I like these network feeds of games. The quality is on par with modern digital video. I wish that Pat & John weren't muted during the ad breaks. I watched another video recently of a network feed for a game. The small talk during the ad breaks sounded like two different people from the professional announcers. What is the source of a network feed? 51:23 Mike Saxon's punt shout be in the punting hall of fame. It first hits at the 6" line, #47 Holmes only misses pushing it into the endzone by accident, it bounces straight up maybe 8', then the second bounce about a foot but it changes direction away from the goal line and the Cowboys down it at the 2½. I've seen punts downed closer to the goal line but only with careful effort by the downfield special team players. This game has much in common with SB12. Dallas couldn't move the ball effectively against the Orange Crush defense but the OCD could not generate turnovers. Doomsday II created several turnovers and a short field for the offense.
I lived in Clifton, VA during that time. So they cut out from the Redskins vs Giants game after it was over to the last drive of this game. Denver almost pulled it out, but Dallas found a way to convert that long third down play to Irvin and score and eventually the defense closed it out.
When I saw the teams and the date I knew it was the game where the all-mighty denver broncos had used like 2 qbs due to an elway injury.. without watching this video yet I think it was a close game if I recall... let me check it out 😉
Denver swapping QBs...Landry swapped Morton and Staubach in the October 31 1971 game with the Bears, in which the Cowboys lost (but won their first Super Bowl).
Don Shula used to quarterback swap in the early 80s when he would go back and forth between Don Strock and David Woodley, often utilizing both guys in the same game. This was before the Dolphins hit the jackpot by drafting Dan Marino.
Not the first time a team alternated QBs. Tom Landry alternated Roger Staubach and Craig Morton on every down in a game from the early 1970’s that Dallas won. Dan Reeves was on Landry’s staff and that’s where he probably came up with the alternating QB’s.
As a Steelers fan, I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for Tommy Maddox. In 2002, Kordell Stewart got off to a terrible start in the first four games, it looked like it was gonna be a lost year, but Maddox came in and saved our season. Had he played the whole year, his stats would’ve averaged out to over 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns, he was fun to watch. But early in his career, Maddox looked like he was way in over his head.
Today 06/11/2024 ...Shannon Sharpe you are not a better TE than Witten or Novachek.or Billy joe Dupre..... In 92 the Cowboys beat ur Broncos .. I wish we had that D-line and O-Line today..1.Jeffcoat.2.Tolbert..3..Lett.4.Maryland.5.Chad Hennings.6.Tony Casilas..7.Ken Norton jr.8..Woodson.9.L Brown.10.R.Gant.11.Kevin Smith..and that allstar O-Line..and # 94 Charles Haley...
Well no disrespect Tom Brady and Eli Manning both played during the NFL when it switched to Sports Entertainment clearly not even the same game. I haven’t watched in years the NFL just is so much like the WWE and Brady would’ve got destroyed if they never protected him.
I swear Madden & Summerall covered every Sunday afternoon Cowboys game from 92’-98.’
And 99
Bc they were good, 92 to 96
Yeah, they did.
Don't forget the 80s.
Summerall did about everyone from the 70's on!!
Shaun Moore would be a backup QB for my Calgary Stampeders in 1994

I was 12 yrs old, the years go way to fast
I miss the 90s😢
Especially if you’re a Cowboys fan !
I was 19, in the Navy stationed in Fresno, CA.
Long time ago.

I miss this CBS intro. Sooo many memories. They need to bring it back
Cowboys had three straight road games in December of 92 before they closed at home. A young team grew up in a hurry
Thanks for uploading this video great memories I love when they go off air and it’s like this …. I remember watching this on the Safelite
Safelite repair. Safelite replace
Before the NFL went totally full blown out of control. Still had a blue collar feel to it.
Good call. The 90’s would be the end of that era. It would turn into this commercialized, analytical processed game. Far removed from its roots.
Jimmy Johnson best coach ever.
2 Superbowl rings
Arguably Reeves was better. He had a worse team but they nearly pulled it out. Jimmy went to Miami in a few years and would show he was a decent coach but without a team full of hall of famers he didn’t have the same success…
No showboating. Now they do it after every play.
Michael Irvin. And it was awesome when he did
Mad & Pat says it all. Miss then day's
First play of the game picked off by my second favorite defensive backs of all time Kevin Smith!
Thanks Jamie!
Good ol Dallas Cowboys!! Hi yo, Blue and Silver, away to championship glory!!!!!💪 🏆 🏉
I went to this game. It was a nail bitter and very cold. My feet were numb.
aikman in this one: 230 yards, 3 tds, 71% completion. this cowboys team was absurd.
Yeah the old myth of Aikman being just a game manager. The guy could throw.
Outstanding clarity! Thank you!!

Tommy Maddox with a career performance vs Cowboys! 👍😎👍
This was a NBC doubleheader Sunday. And we got Vikings/Eagles. And sadly, did not get to see this game until now.
In the Miami 49ers game, Jerry rice broke the all time receiving TD with 101
@@crgray1979 You are right. I remember that. So missing this game wasn't a total loss.

thanks for the spoil!
It really was too bad Elway did play. It would have been a much different game
@@roninkraut6873 he got hurt so he couldn't play and was a big reason why they didn't make the playoffs that year and Dan Reeves got canned.
Thanks for the video 💥
Dan Reeves and Wade Philips put together a great game plan for Denver but Dallas played like Champions and pulled out the victory.
4 pics will kill most teams
Watching the scores and the records pop up. Detroit 3-10 plummeted from the year before beating Dallas to make the NFC championship game.
Must be one of the last 2 times that the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Denver Broncos.
Future XFL star Tommy Maddox. My god when he got drafted did the fans in Denver erupt.
This is the last time the Boys beat the Broncos 😩 great game though!
When I saw the teams and the date I knew it was the game where the all-mighty denver broncos had used like 2 qbs due to an elway injury.. without watching this video yet I think it was a close game if I recall... let me check it out 😉
I remember being so upset when the Cowboys lost this game....of course it didn't matter after they beat the 9ers in candlestick a month later
Dallas won this game. Are you thinking about the following week when they lost at Washington?
😂

Great quality! Thx! Do you have the 1995 nfc championship game?
Sorry, I don’t.
Aikman shows elway how it's done
Elway wasn't playing
Moore was the better QB but Maddox had more of an upside. Dan should have just kept Moore in the entire game
I see nothing has changed this guy throws a completion and now he's god 🙄
2:20:12 Drive of Champions
When the Cowboys could beat the Broncos. 🙄
A coach alternating quarterbacks every down?
WOW, that’s dumb.

@@jamiejohnson4524 they used to almost smoke cigarettes at halftime in the 70’s too.
A few coaches smoked on the sidelines during games back then.
@@jamiejohnson4524 I’m talking about the players.
Alternating qb recipe for failure smh
Maddox really sucked in that game.

when didn't he
These guys are drunk, especially Summerall
1998 broncos would have kicked this teams ass lmfaoooooooo
The audio keeps shutting off! Shitty upload.
This is a satellite copy which means the commercials are not shown. Pat and John’s mics are turned off during the commercial breaks.

You will never see a team today with the depth those Cowboys had in the early 90’s.
By your logic than Elli Manning is better than Tom Brady.
Well no disrespect Tom Brady and Eli Manning both played during the NFL when it switched to Sports Entertainment clearly not even the same game. I haven’t watched in years the NFL just is so much like the WWE and Brady would’ve got destroyed if they never protected him.
