Man, this Sunday Night crew though. The combination of Mike Patrick and Joe Theisman is about as bad as it gets. Back then SNF was second-rate. The games featured match-ups that the majority of America didn't care about and the announcers sucked. These days, its just the opposite.

Only seven games into the season, and Favre was on pace for over 4,200 yards and 32 touchdowns, yet 12 interceptions in seven games, which would average out to a whopping 27 interceptions for the season (I think he finished with 23 that year). Live by the gunslinger, die by the gunslinger 🤣. Meanwhile Steve Young, at 37 years old, was having his best season statistically. If he had kept up that pace, he would’ve thrown over 5,100 yards, which would’ve been an NFL record at the time, and 45 touchdowns. Because of the 49ers quarterback who came before him, Young still doesn’t get the credit he deserves from a lot of people, he played at a high level until the very end of his career.
