OK Ginyu really IS such an interesting character to me when you consider all the bodies he may have had, AND that presumably he has some form of code/loyalty to King Cold and Freeza that keep him from just stealing THEIR bodies and becoming the strongest.
Yeah like maybe he's been their family's guard dig for thousands of years, one of Freeza's ancestors wasn't a complete asshole and did something nice for Ginyu, and he's been loyal to the bloodline ever since.
I think part of it also out of practicality. Correct me if I’m wrong, but when he swaps with Goku, he doesn’t know how to draw on 100% of Goku’s body’s power. Odds are, he doesn’t body-jack Frieza or Cold because whichever one he didn’t swap with would beat him within an inch of his life till he swapped back
@@Whatevsman27 that's not the whole story though. Goku is as powerful as he is not just because he does 100 push-ups, 100 situps, and a 10 km run every single day, it's because he trained for years in how to use his power precisely and efficiently, something that most in the Freeza Force, and especially Freeza himself, sorely lack. It's why he got a power boost between Resurrection F and the TOP despite being stuck in a cocoon the whole time: there was a TON of improvement he could do just by meditating and figuring out how to better use the power he already obtained.
Krillin and Gohan were also instrumental in Vegeta 'losing to an obese man with a sword' back on Earth. I'd see him blaming Krillin more for that than Gohan since Gohan is both a child and that bouncing energy ball is kinda BS while Krillin threw the ball and directly threatened him with death.
I like the implication that there's a customer service protocol of some sort for the dragon balls. "NAAAAILLL! If anyone tries to invade our planet for our literal wish-granting creations and they do not speak Namekian, tell them to work the shaft." "Lord Guru, the only aliens that have ever visited were those orphans we turned down."
10:11 It's so weird though. He's specifically going to look for Namekians to interrogate for the password, one flies by him and he just... doesn't care.
21:50 Honestly, given her gizmos, giant robot, and how smart she is? I could absolutely see her winning an encounter against a few Freeza soldiers and now I'm also upset that we didn't get that
pretty sure she had planes and all kind of sick vehicles on her pocket, would have worked wonders to make the team hide their energy and grab the dragonballs unnoticed... instead of flying like a jackass and get detected by the scouters.
Going off the concept Taka talked about, I'm imagining if they'd done the body swap filler and just never changed them back so when she got a personality in season 3 it was just Ginyu trying to blend in
@@darkimpulse2829 Yeah, but then it gets weird when he commits to the bit so hard that he has Vegeta's child. I think he would have tried to change bodies again before that point.
I'm also kinda disappointed you didn't do the Bulma/Ginyu filler. I can actually imagine the joke being that Ginyu is really panicked that he's not going to be able to fool Bulma's friends and when they don't notice, he's like "Oh, I'm really good at this! They don't suspect a thing!" and Piccollo's thinking "Who is this person?" Gohan's like, "I should get to know her better," and Krillin's like "QUACK!"
The only reason I can see Freeza sparing Dende is that he can't afford to just kill every Namekian he sees anymore since he still needs the password to the Dragon Balls
Well, he also only needs 1 to tell him the password. There's still two more where he's going so he's got better odds of success. Maybe the single Dende might refuse out of pride, but in the manga he tells Guru that surely he won't keep silent if he's torturing Nail to death.
He'll kill Namekians without worrying about it, but I don't think he went out of his way to kill them- they were always defying him, examples to be made, or paying the price for previous defiance. Sure, he can and has went full genocide before, but he wasn't in that mode at the moment
15:17 it's cute how Goku likens it to Gohan's piano recital when Gohan grows up to be the Great Saiya-Man with more elaborate poses. I wonder if that was on purpose on both TFS side and Canon.
You mention the Saiyan armor cosplay. I once cosplayed as a female Vegeta in the "Pink Badman Shirt" outfit (I was dyeing my hair black at the time & I tied it in a high ponytail). If I was a more dedicated cosplayer & did more of Vegeta's iconic outfits I KNOW I would've rocked that Saiyan armor. BTW, 8 minutes in, you've got such an infectious laugh.😂 I am envious of your friends, family & other chums right now cuz I'll bet you're an absolute gem to hang around with. And I mean that.💕
Bulma's little 'no problem Gohan' plays on repeat in my head so often when I'm annoyed but I know it's not the fault of the person I'm talking to. It's such a human moment to break from your emotions, sound completely fine, and then get triggered again when the person who's actually bugging you starts talking
My favorite line from that episode of JL is when Barry in Lex's body is leaving the bathroom and another villain is entering and the other villain ask Lex "Aren't you going to wash your hands?" to which Not Lex replies "No, because i'm evil"
Y'know it's weird that Krillin calls out Ginyu for identity theft when he's already made moves with intent to commit identity fraud (by investing in life insurance to go to a brother who doesn't exist, betting against himself living through Namek). I wonder if he's being subconsciously defensive calling out Ginyu like that
Taka is really good at singing the praises of others on the team and the stuff he's pointed out has made me better appreciate a lot of contributions people have had on the project.
I _love_ how the Jojo part 5 dub did pretty much the _exact_ same thing that DBZA did with its mind swap part, I _love it_ when they put in the effort in small ways they really didn't have to but did so anyways.
Believe it or not, that Wilhelm scream bit gave me an idea for a running joke, long ago back when I was online writing Star Wars Post-it RP. I had made it a thing in-universe that practically every single army in the galaxy has a Wilhelm guy in it & they have the awful habit of making the scream at some point of their service. Basically whenever there was any characters with the name Wilhelm or some variation of it in a scene being written, everyone knows shit's going to go down & everyone got a laugh out of it. 😂
Little fun fact about that JLU episode. Micheal Rosenbaum voiced Wally West for JL and JLU. He played a live action version of Lex Luthor during that time on the show Smallville. So him being a version of Lex in the animated series because of the mind swap was a nice little nod. Later on, Clancy Brown, the man who voice Lex Luthor, would go on to play General Eisling in the first season of The Flash. Almost like it's full circle for these actors that get cast into DC Shows and Movies.
Given how they had to hide their power levels first from Frieza's men and then from Vegeta's, It'd have been useful if Bulma's technology allowed them to move around. And if she is found by Vegeta, let her interact with Vegeta for the first time. Since she is not much of a threat Vegeta is not going to do anything to her. (Heck that scene where Vegeta finds Gohan might as well be her)
I was thinking that perhaps while everyone was fighting over the dragon balls, like she got the last one by herself to no one’s knowledge because no one believed she was useful, or perhaps as Goku and Frieza are having their final battle she communicates and plans with Kami and Co to wish everyone out of there. But yeah Bulma was definitely casted aside to Bitch Fu master when she’s the reason they’re even there at all.

4:15 "I've cheeked every crack of this situation, butt unfortunately I found no trace of dignity."
I spent way too long laughing at "Kaiser was just gonna blow bubbles non-stop, but then we had to recast Bubbles."
Bulma and Chichi cosplayers in saiyan armour is an awakening.
I like the implication that there's a customer service protocol of some sort for the dragon balls.
"NAAAAILLL! If anyone tries to invade our planet for our literal wish-granting creations and they do not speak Namekian, tell them to work the shaft."
"Lord Guru, the only aliens that have ever visited were those orphans we turned down."
10:11 It's so weird though. He's specifically going to look for Namekians to interrogate for the password, one flies by him and he just... doesn't care.
21:50 Honestly, given her gizmos, giant robot, and how smart she is? I could absolutely see her winning an encounter against a few Freeza soldiers and now I'm also upset that we didn't get that
I love how the only positive interaction between Nail and Guru is saying Good Job after telling Frieza to work the shaft.
It's a real shame about Bulma in the Namek Saga. Her having machinery and low power would have made her great for stealthing around
pretty sure she had planes and all kind of sick vehicles on her pocket, would have worked wonders to make the team hide their energy and grab the dragonballs unnoticed... instead of flying like a jackass and get detected by the scouters.
@@kevingriffith6011 Nah, that's the actual reason why Trunks has purple hair
12:11 that line of Guru's "Oh God!! NATURAL LIGHTTTTT!!!" Is one I use when I am in the dark for too long and i step outside
Didn’t expect a JLU shoutout in this vid, but I’m all for it. That episode was great, Clancy Brown voicing Flash in Lex’s body was hysterical.
The Bulma-Ginyu scenes would have been hilarious, wish you released them as a "what if" or bonus content.
This episode is a real showcase of Antfish and MasakoX.
Fun fact: Popo is a german word for butt, which gives the "blackest void" line a second meaning
It also means poop in Spanish
I'm also kinda disappointed you didn't do the Bulma/Ginyu filler. I can actually imagine the joke being that Ginyu is really panicked that he's not going to be able to fool Bulma's friends and when they don't notice, he's like "Oh, I'm really good at this! They don't suspect a thing!" and Piccollo's thinking "Who is this person?" Gohan's like, "I should get to know her better," and Krillin's like "QUACK!"
I love Ginyu totally playing into his role of a lapdog with "First, Frieza doesn't wear boots. Second, if he did, I'd have already polished them"
The only reason I can see Freeza sparing Dende is that he can't afford to just kill every Namekian he sees anymore since he still needs the password to the Dragon Balls
Well, he also only needs 1 to tell him the password. There's still two more where he's going so he's got better odds of success. Maybe the single Dende might refuse out of pride, but in the manga he tells Guru that surely he won't keep silent if he's torturing Nail to death.
But why not try to get the password from Dende?
And I mean that.💕
I’ve grieved harder for Jaice than I did for actual family members
Dende getting his potential released is what turns him into the DBZA Dende we know and love
I'd like to think In another timeline Masako's Ginyu-Goku would comeback as his Goku Black voice
I feel Taka's idea for the Ginyu-Bulma body swap was later recycled for Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged, where his character, Krump, takes over Tea's body.
11:55 Just the amount of "I'm done with this sh*t today" makes me laugh
Y'know it's weird that Krillin calls out Ginyu for identity theft when he's already made moves with intent to commit identity fraud (by investing in life insurance to go to a brother who doesn't exist, betting against himself living through Namek). I wonder if he's being subconsciously defensive calling out Ginyu like that
The sudden Krump-Tea cameo at the end was perfect
Taka’s Yugioh Abridged Teá impression tho! 😂😂💀💀
Apparently the convention is to shout, "First". It seems disappointing, like Yamcha.
I don't know what this 'Yamcha' is... but it sounds disappointing.
Now, now. Not even Yamcha is that disappointing.
@@Merennulli true, nothing can match the disappointment I feel in myself.
“The cucking shall begin soon!” *smooth sax plays*
Excellent start to a video 😂
YOU PLAYED CRUMP TEA? Damn...I just thought you were really good at imitating Martin. Well done! I forgot that the Big Five were played by you guys.
"Hush, Nail. I'm speaking for you."
Hands down my favorite line of DBZA.
Taka is really good at singing the praises of others on the team and the stuff he's pointed out has made me better appreciate a lot of contributions people have had on the project.
I love seeing this videos and learning some the behind the scenes
Masako has way more range than I thought. He's been getting really good at doing the rest of the cast in his What Ifs.
Love what you guys did with Goku & Ginyu switching bodies but keeping their voices, especially Masako as Goku Purple.
I _love_ how the Jojo part 5 dub did pretty much the _exact_ same thing that DBZA did with its mind swap part, I _love it_ when they put in the effort in small ways they really didn't have to but did so anyways.
All we need is a FULL Saiyan Suit. Legs. Arms, a helmet. All the good stuff.
Also, Battle Speedo? What is this, Sons of Butcher?!
I was hoping that you guys would have briefly referenced the body swap between Ginyu Frog and Bulma
Once Taka mentioned Michael Rosenbaum, I actually smiled because I met the guy three times. He’s awesome
I'm really glad you guys did the Bulma Crabs thing. I liked that episode.
Guru is the Weinstein of Namek
Given how they had to hide their power levels first from Frieza's men and then from Vegeta's, It'd have been useful if Bulma's technology allowed them to move around. And if she is found by Vegeta, let her interact with Vegeta for the first time. Since she is not much of a threat Vegeta is not going to do anything to her. (Heck that scene where Vegeta finds Gohan might as well be her)
11:53 This might have been the one time Guru was actuslly proud of Nail
I was thinking that perhaps while everyone was fighting over the dragon balls, like she got the last one by herself to no one’s knowledge because no one believed she was useful, or perhaps as Goku and Frieza are having their final battle she communicates and plans with Kami and Co to wish everyone out of there.
But yeah Bulma was definitely casted aside to Bitch Fu master when she’s the reason they’re even there at all.
That JLU episode is absolutely legendary
"I have no idea who this is."
Masako nails Ginyu so hard. On top of the keeping the voices consistent my favorite detail is when Ginyu has an inner thought as Goku it is Ginyu's voice and when he speaks its Masako again. Just magnificent.
My head canon was guru spat out nails egg nail hatched and declared his name was nail and guru declared
“I DONT CARE WHO YOU ARE NOW CLEAN MY JOWLS!”
and then nail cleaned his own afterbirth
That's the only thing of that justice league that I remember. XD good stuff.
Krillin: “That… was for Yamcha!”
Also Krillin: “what about Yamcha?”
16:25 - Just like John Carpenter's "The Thing," we don't know what the assimilating alien's original body is like.
Taka I’ve always been a fan but today we became best buds 😆 That episode of JLU with Flash/Lex is one of my favorites.
“You gonna wash your hands?”
“No, cuz I’m EVIL” 🤣
I love when characters swap bodies or play as other characters while maintaining their voice (Like in community) It is just so impressive
My favorite part of that JLU episode it that, Flash is voiced by Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luther in Smallville. So then, he was playing Lex again, but a different Lex than his normal Lex
"And then we had to recast Bubbles" Aaaand video liked, top shelf comedy.
I'm kind of ashamed it took me that long to realize Guru had some Plinkett inspiration. It seems obvious when Taka points it out.
