One of the best granny square tutorials I have watched. You would imagine that things like granny square would have a ton of good tutorials out there, but yours works the best for me somehow. Thank you for your beautiful work.
Thank you for your tutorials I really want to make this lovely granny square, just one question, why do you crochet only 2 dc in the starting row then you do another 2 dc . I always do three dc, am I doing it incorrectly Thank you ❤
I started crocheting last year and I've wanted to crochet granny squares but couldn't find a good tutorial for it. When I found your channel I finally did it and it turned out perfect. Thank you so much for this video ❤️
I just want to say wow I gone through. I lost count over 11 videos for granny square stitches. I used to doing back in the day. the basic simple as can be. and oh my god, I found your video and fell in love with it. simple stitches and you showed a simple old fashioned slip knot. love it! thank you!
I am a beginner and have watched a TON of videos on how to do a granny square. My first one was a circle 🤣 I just want to say a massive thank you because this is the best one I’ve seen and followed. I made my first square today. Best explanation ever!
Just found this video after the multi colored haha. Thank you! I found the idea of 8 bit images to make an afghan with any granny square and I know my kids will love them. Just had to learn granny squares! Time to get started!
This was such an incredibly good video. I've never crocheted in my life (or done any similar craft like knitting, sewing, etc.) and I just made my first granny square!! Thank you so much 😊
The last time I crocheted my grandmother taught me when I was about 10 or 11 years old. I sure do miss her. I'm still watching this video. You are very clear but, it just seems extremely difficult to me. Thank you for doing 1 color. I figured trying one color shouldn't be too bad. Now I just need to purchase my supplies.
My Aha moment! Finally clicked in after so many tutorials yours made me understand the pattern better and now I've memorized it! Thank you very nice video 😊
Great tutorial, you are a wonderful teacher, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I learned how to make a Granny square. I will watch the other videos you made.
Another informative video! I’ve made about 52 multi color granny squares (using your first tutorial) - going to make blanket so I’ve got quite a few more to go. Love the crochet videos!
thank you so much for tagging me in this! I've been trying to figure it out for a week now because I'm making a granny square cardigan for my son in one color. This is the best video I've seen for granny squares.
Thank you so much for this video. It was set at the right pace and had plenty of details. Would happen to have a video on how to connect granny squares for beginners?
Wow, what a clear, fantastic tutorial, you are a born teacher, thank you, finally I understand the process of a granny square. Will you show us how to change colours too to make it multi coloured?❤
Great video. Left nothing to the imagination regarding granny squares. Easy to follow and very detailed. Thank you for sharing. I'm subscribed and following your channel. 👍👍👍👍
Another great video, of course! I'm making a temperature blanket out of granny squares which is pretty straight forward but I'd love to make a cardigan out of them if you'd ever like to make a video of that!
Such a great video!! By far the best tutorial ive seen. Thank you for breaking everything down so well. Just finished my first granny square!! gonna learn to make the multicolored one next and hopefully a blanket!
Thank you for the videos i have struggled with crocheting so much I was learning before my oldest daughter was even born but I had to stop learning due to personal reasons and haven't been able to crochet since!! Until now when I came across your other video about Granny Square Crochet how to change colors so thank you
Love crochet and love your colors . i’m doing a blanket drive for Boggie Creek here in Florida and she just gave me some great color ideas. Been struggling with most of the blankets are geared towards girls and then buying boy colors but this I think could be used for both what a great color scheme you have wonderful ideas loving your channel. Keep the great videos coming
I have seen so many tutorials and have tried a few. So far you’ve made it easy to follow. Also your technique is so much better and cleaner Thank you. I am now a follower 😊
Hi! Absolutely loved the clarity of your tutorial and have a question… how many rows in each square and how many squares is best for a baby blanket? The colors I’m using are yellow, white, gray, & turquoise. I’m really excited as my first square came out perfect (thanks to you!) I appreciate the time your taking to answer my questions, have a great day🤗
Hi, I did a blanket using the two-tone granny square and did five rounds, you can see what that ended up looking like here, it's a little different but still gives you a good idea of size: ruclips.net/video/jdbFW8Oe4iI/видео.html
Love your vids! I am starting to get back into crocheting an this is really helpful! I would really love to see a vid on sewing the granny squares together, I don’t know if you already made one or not? Thanks! 😊
I really hope you see this comment and reply! I just have a question about the corners. After you’ve completed a round and slip stitch through to start the next round, is there a reason you chain 2 as your first double crochet instead of just doing a double crochet? I understand why you do it for the very first round bc it establishes your corner, but after that, it doesn’t seem to matter. Unless it’s a visual thing I don’t know about. I hope this makes sense! Thanks so much for this video! It really helped me!!
Yes, you can use a magic ring to start, then just start your first row, don't worry about the chains to start, just pull your magic loop tight once you get the first round done.
I'm sorry, I don't have a written pattern for the single-color square, just the multi-colored squares. You can find those here: store.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=109&sort=20a
Don't forget to do a CH2 in the corners, that is what shapes the blocks. And also they look better after you block them! I show how to block them here: ruclips.net/video/I9x3ngZlCYA/видео.html
Best instructions I have found on granny stage especially for beginners thank you
Wow! You made this so easy! Thank you!😀
I Enjoyed how nicely she showed me how to get started.

Please keep the crochet videos coming. Love crocheting! 💜
I like how you slow things down so its easer to follow what you are doing. You also tell us what the name of the stitches are. It helps🙂
I think I’ll finally be able to make one! I do wish you had shown how to change colours. They are so pretty.
Hi, I do have a video for the granny squares that are different colors each round, you can find that here: ruclips.net/video/n-x88m8_6Ac/видео.html

Could you please show us how to make a solid granny square, your teaching way is very simple and clear.❤
A FQ = 18" x 21", the amount of pieces in a bundle varies by manufacturer. Moda usually has 42, Riley Blake usually has 21.
Wonderful tutorial! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much. You are a great teacher ! I've made my first square ! 🥰

Love your vids! I am starting to get back into crocheting an this is really helpful! I would really love to see a vid on sewing the granny squares together, I don’t know if you already made one or not? Thanks! 😊
Yes could u maybe do 1 on sewing them together
If i put a chain one between the spaces will this mess up your pattern?
Super 👌 👍 😍
Thank you!
How do you stop the large continuous granny from leaning. My small square are fine but the large one I did is all leaning to the right.
thank you Erica, Karen Sorenson
Damn girl (Lady), you did great with this Video Too?!!😍😇😁☺️👍 Now it's just time for the yarn shops to take my money! Lolz
I love granny squares! Who won the giveaway?
I haven't picked yet, I'll pick soon :)

Yes, if you start off with a double crochet it can lay weird. That said, try it, and if you are okay with how it looks, go for it :)
Is this cotton yarn please? Thank you so much!
Yes, it is linked below the video :)
Do you ever turn around and go back the other way, I’ve seen that in some directions and I don’t know if that’s important to do.
I have just started crocheting and I made my first granny square last night! Awesome tutorial. I can’t wait to see the next video!!!
Instead of a slip stitch can I start this with a Magic Ring? I'm new so not sure how to convert the chains to the MR and chain
Yes, you can use a magic ring to start, then just start your first row, don't worry about the chains to start, just pull your magic loop tight once you get the first round done.
Love the colors, they are so pretty, how old is you daughter ? My granddaughter is 13. How old was you daughter when she learned to crochet ?👍👍
What kind of yarn do you use?
I used Lori Holt Chunky Thread, it's all linked in the video description below the video.
I love granny squares
Me too!
Do you have a written pattern?
I'm sorry, I don't have a written pattern for the single-color square, just the multi-colored squares. You can find those here: store.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=109&sort=20a
Where can I find that kind of string.
Everything is linked below the video :)
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
How do I join granny squares together?
Hi! I show how to join in this video: ruclips.net/video/IhRlxguwuwc/видео.html
It's 4ply or 8 ply yarn?
Hi! It doesn't say anywhere on the band or internet, but looking at it I would say 4-ply sport weight
i definitely did something wrong lolll trying again
edit: i did it right yippee
I don't know how, but at my first attempt I got a circle with six holes, instead of a square with four holes
Hi! Just make sure you're doing the CH2 in each corner! If you skip those corner chains you'll end up with a circle shape.
@@erica_arndt Thank you, I already figured everything out, your tutorial is great!
Why is mine coming out round 😢
Make sure you remember to CH2 at each corner :)
I just don't know what I'm doing wrong I'm following step by step and not near as good as yours
Don't forget to do a CH2 in the corners, that is what shapes the blocks. And also they look better after you block them! I show how to block them here: ruclips.net/video/I9x3ngZlCYA/видео.html
Not a good tutorial, I ended up with a circle not a square
Make sure you're doing two chains in each corner :)
I’m so confuse don’t look anything like you are you seven times
