FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How much yarn do I need?
Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.

What always perplexes me is...how did the first person to do this figure it out? They were a bloody genius
This is what I ponder when doing stuff like this too 😂
Yes - me too!
Happy accidents
This is just a theory of mine, but I think it could've been an autistic person who figured it out, given how most of us have special interests
@@LaughOutRandom I'm also autistic, and this checks out tbh.

Yes!!! I totally agree. I actually made something that looks like the one the person was making!!
This was actually a LIFE SAVER every granny square video I watched that was “beginning friendly” was definitely not. You explained everything so well. And it even works with my semi chunky yarn I’m using too!
I'm so glad that it has helped :)
I particularly appreciate how Bella slows down in those essential moments and actually uses her fingers to pull the stitches or point out what she is referring to. It seems unimportant but it helps so much to beginners.
@@cynhwon Absolutely. Thank you.

But how do you keep it going to make it bigger and bigger
I’m not a beginner, I’m over 70 and taught myself to crochet when I had my first baby at 21. I’ve used this stay at home time to complete 4 baby Afghans and trimmed several receiving blankets for two friends who are going to be grandmothers for the first time. It’s a great hobby. Good luck.

I'm the same and I find a lot of instructions too difficult to follow and I give up. This tutorial was very helpful and I successfully did a granny square!
Using this tutorial to make a granny square bag,I've already made 6 granny squares in 3 days. Definitely recommend this tutorial,if you have nothing to do ALL day I'm pretty sure you can make 6 in TWO days because I'm lazy and eat crisp and watch Netflix as well.

I've crocheted for years and have made granny squares but I found that your tutorial was great and would be extremely easy for any beginner to follow. Speaking clearly in your explanations while showing what/how you are doing it is wonderful and very important, so keep up the good work

This was so easy to follow I'm not a beginner to crocheting but this was my first attempt at a granny square. This helped so much and I can't wait to show my aunt.❤

Dude she went so fast how I'm not a beginner but I can't do this tut it's way to fast and I have to pause the video every 2 second it's really annoying 😭

This was really helpful! I have known how to crochet since I was five, my mum taught me! But I could never get the hang of starting off, my mum used to do it for me. Its been some years since I have done any crochet and my mum has since passed. I decided to pick it back up again as it was something me and my mum used to do together, plus I found it relaxing to do.
Ahh that is such a nice thing to do in memory of your mum. 🙂
I’m sorry about your mother

You're very welcome and well done for not giving up :)
This was an amazing tutorial. I had just started crochet around 2-3 days ago and this was easy to follow. For any beginners watching this video as their first project I would recommend starting small like doing a mini heart or flower and practice crocheting on them and then starting with bigger projects just so it doesn't feel overwhelming at the start.
I've been trying to do a granny square for 10 years and following along with you made a real difference. I understand it now. Thank you sweet lady

I have a very hard time picking things up and this video was so clear and showed me exactly how to do it! I’ve been crocheting for years and I just made my first granny square. Thank you so much for this!!!

i had to watch this tutorial like 2 gazillion times, but i finally managed to make a real (and slightly wonky) granny square! awesome!
Well done, keep practicing and it will get easier :)
The first time I followed this tutorial earlier this week, it took me 3 hours and 5 unravels to complete my first ever granny square. I just followed this tutorial again and it took me 1 hour and 0 unravels! I'm so proud of myself (which is a rare occurrence) and so grateful to you. 💜 I'm someone who benefits greatly from very thorough, visual instructions and this is perfect. Thank you so much! 🥰
The last time I did any crocheting was in elementary school, so 25 years ago, give or take 😉 back then my teacher held up my project for everyone to see, only to say "this is precisely how NOT to do it - the stitches are too tight". It's haunted me ever since and hasn't helped my issues with anxiety 😅😢 it might have taken me a few decades but I'm back at it, and so excited to watch my progress 😊
Well done for not giving up, I'm glad it has helped you :)
23:20 just saving my place for tomorrow :)
Thank you for this useful video! This is my first time trying a granny square and I succeeded! I am just a kid who picked up crochet a few weeks ago, and thanks to your channel, I now can crochet different patterns!

Thank you for making this so understandable - just hearing someone say that I need to work into the previous corners helps so much. I'm an older adult beginner and this is not obvious to me. I'm taking an online class and everyone else seems to be experienced already. It finally makes sense.

Oh my gosh...it makes sense now!!! Thank you so much for this tutorial - I can see your stitching clearly, and you took me through it so slowly, explaining everything along the way. I loved that I could pause it as I went, as I was able to make one treble stitch, as you made three! I look forward to getting better, and faster, with more practise, now that I know what I am doing!
I had been struggling with trying to learn this all day and now finally it works! This brilliant tutorial did the trick. I will be forever grateful!
Years ago I had a few people trying to teach me to crochet and I just couldn't get it at all. And I watched so many video's. Then I found one finally that made sense to me. Hello, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you and let you know what an impact you have made on someone. You are such an awesome teacher. You made this tutorial so easy for an absolute beginner like me. This was a very good tutorial. She did an amazing job at making it beginner friendly and explaining each step in great detail. My favourite thing is that she kept on explaining each step to the very end. I personally do not like it when tutorials say “Then you just repeat until finished.” Excellent job! Thank you!!
You are very welcome, I'm glad it was helpful :)
This tutorial was so helpful. It made me feel very proud of myself after , thank you
You are very welcome :)
Only been crocheting for a week and this is an amazing video. Thank you ❤
You are very welcome :)
For anyone struggling with getting the shape, I found when doing the corners I needed to sort of pinch and shuffle along/into place the clusters of triple-crochets as Ive not managed to get them naturally to be in the right place, yet - I imagine that will come with practice as this is my very first piece, ever! (Took me a few goes of trying, unravelling, trying, unravelling but I got there!)😊
Thank you for the really helpful, slow and informative video. This has helped me make my very first granny square!🎉
You are very welcome :)
I've always been a knitter (my mum taught me when I was 6 years old) and I used to watch her crocheting granny squares for blankets and she tried showing me and I just couldn't get it. Cue 50+ years later I finally picked up some wool and a hook and watched this video (lots of stops, rewinds and restarts LOL!!) but I have to say this was the best tutorial I have come across. Thank you.
Omg your video was super helpful!! Thank you so much for all those detailed information by showing us where exactly what goes where!! I was able to complete my first ever granny square!!
I love how you do it in basic ways.. I've been searching for this kind of video to follow.. good thing I found & started trying to make same pattern as yours.. At first I was disappointed not able to do it on my own but after finding your video that look simple, I am able to make one.. I'm aiming to make a crocheted blanket or bed cover, hope I can finish it.. Thank you so much for your video, it's really helpful🥰 Looking forward for more of your crochet videos.. God bless & be safe to you, and everyone
You are very welcome and I'm glad it was helpful :)
I used to crochet squares as a kid, and just wanted a refresher tutorial before I start my blanket. Didn’t notice the Bella Coco logo until a few minutes in. Those are my two cat’s names, so I guess I found the right video!😊
I genuinely appreciate that you repeated each step along the way, even if I had already done it a dozen times. The repetition is so beneficial to my learning process. Your tutorial is the only one I was able to follow in one sitting.
I'm glad that it's been helpful :)
