    I LOVE LOVE LOVE your instructions. Slow enough for a newbie like me, but not TOO slow. Very plain and easy to understand. If anyone I know needs a video of how to crochet a certain stitch, I will always send them to you!!! Thanks so much!!!

    I adore how you suggest pausing to "catch up" or basically try the steps before you steam ahead. Thank you for your pace during the lesson. Thanks to you I can now do this!

    I needed inspiration to make a blanket and this helped a lot. instead of finishing it off into a granny square I've decided to keep going to see how big I can make it.

    I've tried following many videos, and even though you're using UK terms mostly, I had an easier time following your video than others. You go at a great pace, & show us exactly what you're doing. I'm still struggling to even begin, lol but your video definitely got me further than I was, so thank you!

    thanks for this version of the granny square. I enjoy doing this one more than the other one. instead of making small squares, I'm just gonna keep going around and around until I have a huge blanket for my baby. hopefully I can get it done before I give birth to him at the end of Nov. Again thank you for your help and technique on crocheting. 😃

    This tutorial is amazing and very easy to follow. My mother taught my siblings and me how to crochet when we were kids(along with cooking, sowing, etc, while my stepdad taught us how to fish, start a fire, etc). I recently took up crocheting because I quit smoking and needed something to do with my hands. After relearning all my basic stitches and making an endless supply of swatches, I found this tutorial. I completed my first square today and will make a few more practice ones and then I think I'll be ready for a blanket. Thanks again for making this tutorial for us novices. With great tutorials like this, I'm well on my way to being an adept of the craft.

    Despite the difference between the UK and US lingo, I have found your tutorials very informative, even for projects for which I just need a refresher. I've been crocheting since I was a little girl - my grandmother taught me how to do several crafts before I could even write (I taught myself to knit, though, as an adult). But that means I've forgotten many things in over 40 years. Thank you for not only helping me remember those things but also teaching me a few more nice things like this granny square, which I like more than the traditional. I especially like the way you transition to each new round - I've never seen it done that way before but it makes so much more sense! And wastes no yarn or stitches as I was taught or I've seen in other tutorials.

Yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over pull through 2. That was so relaxing, and the fact that you point out each stitch that you're going through, just so awesome. They what to learn how to crochet, I am teaching them to chain only at the moment, it makes me happy. So, thank you very much, we might have more crocheting. 👌🏼👏🏻👌🏼

    5yrs after making this video and it's still going strong - they're timeless! Thanks a bunch for making this! I'm an experienced knitter and just recently started designing. But I was thinking, I dont have all of the tools avail to be a great designer unless I learn to crochet. I know how to chain stitches and to fiddle around a bit but I dont know the terms of whatever it is I'm doing so cant read a pattern and such. And I had an idea for a friend's baby blanket so here I am. And what a perfect video for me! Not too slow but not too fast. And I LOVE the fact that you gave places to pause which takes the thinking of when to do that out of the equation, so we simply focus on the stitch. I've got a lot to learn still... I'll say, you crocheters are champs bc boy does my wrist and hand hurt. Lol! I think I'm holding everything too tight, so as I said, I have a lot yet to learn. Thanks again! I look forward to learning more from your timeless videos. 🙂

    I was curious to know what size hook you used in this particular tutorial.

      I think I see a 4 on that needle so assume a 4.00 mm ?

    • @hibernogirl
      @hibernogirl 4 года назад

      or it could have been a 4.5 mm! take note of the yarn you are using and on the label they suggest knitting needle size or crochet hook.

      adie . Yes. I've done that once but didn't really like the effect. I think a variegated pattern would be better if that is what you were intending.

    Thank you so much! I learned the basics of crochet maybe 15 years ago from a book but never quite got the hang of how to do much more than go back and forth in lines. I learned to knit from RUclips several years back and was actually pretty good but never quite "got" crochet. Quarantine has me wanting to learn again 😊 This helps me see how to structure corners - thanks so much!

    Could someone answer a question for me, I have made my square and the first tail was working into the first round. I still have some left over. What do I do with it? Can I cut it off?

    • @4lovin70s
      @4lovin70s 8 лет назад

      yes cut it off.

    • @LadsandCas
      @LadsandCas 7 лет назад

      Sam Iam I believe you can just cut it off, however, some people suggest "sewing" your ends into your project with a yarn needle so the end doesn't stick or poke out where it might show. I hope this helps. Good luck.🍀

    Hi, it's been ages since I was able to hook, like I mean not since before my now 2 year old was conceived!! I've since had a stroke and I was told to crochet to help with my hand movements. Every video I've come across has been either too much talking, not descriptive enough or just wasn't what I needed. I found your channel and I have since finished 1 baby blanket for a dear friend, a shawl for another and I'm currently starting on a bedspread for myself. Thank you so much for these lovely calming videos that bring me much joy with crocheting.

    I know how to make granny squares. I taught myself a couple months ago by watching a RUclips video from a different person who also crochets (Jayda instiches actually). I like this other version of the granny square. Thank you for making this video using UK terminology. Hearing it used helps me be familiar with it in case I ever find myself reading a pattern that uses it.

    I watched some of your other tutorials on stitches. They weren't hard to follow at all. Thank you for adding in the US stitch names. I think this stitch will be for my next project. I'm planning to just do the whole blanket as one large Solid Granny Square. Maybe next time I'll try the link together Granny Square blanket. Keep the tutorials coming.
