I just made my first granny square! Full disclosure, granny looks like she stopped at the pub for a few quick drinks, BUT it is a square. And its overall resemblance to yours is enough that they would recognize each other as cousins, albeit distant cousins. 😅 Thanks, Robin. This was so clearly demonstrated that I can come back for a refresher and be on my granny way!

Hi Robin I have been knitting and crocheting since I was a young girl, I'm now 64. For some reason I have always struggled to master the Granny Square even though I have knitted lace stitches no problem. I recently decided to master Granny squares as I have loads of beautiful wool which would be perfect for crochet blankets. I had to go on medication 4 years ago and lost all my creativity as a result. I've really struggled to get back knitting without much success. I thought crochet might be easier so I searched UTube which came up with a number of tutorials. I would really like to compliment you on your tutorial. The instructions were so clear and structured. I'm now very happily crocheting a big granny square blanket. You have made my day. Thank you 😊.

My dear, sweet mama passed in October. She was my best friend and I miss her so much. I found an Afghan that she had made. It is in pretty good shape except for two squares. I was lucky enough to find some yarn at Wal-Mart this morning that matches. But, I don ‘t know how to crochet so I will need to learn. I do know how to knit so I know that I can do this. I am looking forward to this on a cold winter day in Illinois. Thank you so much for this video. I will be sure to check out your other tutorials with each new skein of yarn I purchase. Now I can get busy making gifts for Christmas this year. Thank you, thank you!! Eric, Salt Lake City, UT, USA

Fantastic video!!! I've been learning/practicing crochet for only 10 days (I've had one 2 hour class) and was able to learn granny squares with you. I'm so excited!! I do recommend watching sections first, going back, and then attempting to follow a section at a time. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise! :) PS - I love seeing how many others are learning this in their 70's and 80's -- that's so cool!

Robin - you really are the best instructor. So many previous granny square videos assume that a beginner somehow knows the VERY things we are there to learn. You do not assume and therefore make it all work! I appreciate you so much and as a lockdown learner feel that I now have a great channel and an even better teacher. Thanks so much 🙂
